Fragrances -Lancaster - Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker ] [DISCONTINUED]

I bought Covet after I smelled it in a magazine. Well I was slightly disappointed. It seemed to have a much better fragrance in the magazine than it did in real life. I don't HATE it . . . but I don't exactly love it either. I use it as a basic fragrance to wear to work. Doesn't really stand out. I wish I wouldn't have purchased the big bottle. It's going to take me FOREVER to use it all!

This smell is divine. I'm not an expert on perfume so I couldn't give you the different smells that are combined . . .but I will say that EVERY time I wear this I get compliments. My significant other ADORES this fragrance on me and when I wear it I, myself, can't stop sniffing my wrists. This is slowly becoming my signature fragrance. I LOVE IT!

Loose Powders -Bare Escentuals - Tinted Mineral Veil
rated 5 of 5

This stuff is the BEST! I wear it in conjunction with my BE mineral powder in medium tan. It gives my face a beautifully evened-out . . . flawless look. The BE powder by itself is just ok . . . but with the mineral veil it is GORGEOUS! I strongly suggest buying and wearing the two together. It's so finely milled and applies so easily. It's almost impossible to mess up the application! Great stuff . . . I will buy again . . . and again . . .and again!

I adore this powder. I bought it in Medium Tan and it blends perfectly with my skintone. I use it in conjunction with the Mineral veil and get nice evened out results every time. I was using the Loreal cheapie mineral foundation at first . . . and while it worked well . . . I can totally tell the difference between this higher end product and the Loreal. I think I have found my HG mineral powder!

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer

I got a sample of this product from Sephora. It came from their Allure Complexion Perfection samples. I really like it. It applies easily and leaves my skin feeling silky. It also doesn't require a lot to work. It creates a canvas in which my foundation applies smoothly over. I also noticed that the fine lines I get around my mouth from smiling weren't nearly as visible as they had been in the times prior to using this product. I plan to buy a full sized bottle of this very soon!

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover
rated 4 of 5

Just like the last review said . . . I've only gotten samples of this product. I think it costs around 20 bucks, and I would consider buying it (if I had some extra cash to blow). Why? Well it removes my eye makeup really easily and really well (even the waterproof stuff). It's also non-irritating (doesn't sting my eyes at all) and smells really nice (really soft baby-powderish scent). It does leave an oily residue on the eye at first . . but then it dries up and disappears. Oh yeah. . . you're supposed to shake it before you use it . . . I have no clue as to why . . . maybe whatever it's made of needs stirring up in the little plastic bottle.

Lip Gloss -Dessert Beauty - Deliciously Kissable Plumping Lip Fragrance Gloss - Juicy
rated 1 of 5
sistahmaryisis 9/11/2006 3:13:00 PM

I don't want to eat my lip gloss so the fact that this tastes good means nothing to me. The product gives you a little shine and sparkle . . .but has absolutely no color to it whatsoever. I guess I could wear it over something that I wanted a little shimmer to . . .but I don't really like the consistency of this stuff. It leaves my lips feeling gritty and dries them out horribly. As for the plumping . . . I didn't see any difference. . . I didn't even feel the tingling a lot of reviewers said they felt. If I liked it it wouldn't matter anyway becauseI don't care to have my lips any fuller than the way that they were intended to be. I'm glad I didn't pay a lot for this (3 bucks at TJ MAXX).

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in clear
rated 2 of 5
sistahmaryisis 9/11/2006 9:36:00 AM

This creates a high gloss finish and would probably be good to use over lipsticks to make them more shiny. A little bit of this stuff goes a LONG way . . . however, I can't get past the stickiness. It seems the stickier a lip gloss is the more dry my lips will become. It also doesn't have a great staying power . . . it dries up and peels off. I won't purchase this again.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Shine
rated 2 of 5

This product is a mint-infused lip balm that's supposed to aid with freshening your breath. Interesting concept . . . isn't it? It is glossy (and very sticky) . . . and it does have a perpperminty taste due to the peppermint oil. It also leaves your lips shiny with a cooling sensation. I guess if these are the qualities you are looking for in a lip gloss then this would be for you. However, I don't care for having a lip gloss that tastes like peppermint and I hate the sticky feeling it leaves. I also find that it doesn't moisturize my lips as well as I would like, it actually seems to dry them out (could it be the mint?). I don't think I'll re-purchase this.

Eyeliner -MAC - Buried Treasure Powerpoint
rated 5 of 5
sistahmaryisis 9/11/2006 9:10:00 AM

This is my HG eyeliner. It is a dark color (looks black on me) with a bit of shimmer. The shimmer is not evident when I apply it but I can see it on the product itself. The eyeliner goes on smoothly and stays on all day without smudging. What can I say . . . I love this stuff!

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Star Gloss - Princess
rated 5 of 5
sistahmaryisis 9/11/2006 9:00:00 AM

This is a color that will match nearly everything. It's a mauve-y bronze-y brown toned color with a bit of sparkle. The applicator is attached to the inside of the lid (like with most lipglosses) however you get a brush instead of those sponge-like applicators that most lip glosses are known for having. This allows you to have an easier, more precise application. The gloss itself brushes on smoothly and leaves your lips soft and not sticky (I HATE sticky lip glosses). It also contains oils that help with shine and moisturization. It has a light fruity scent that isn't at all offensive. The staying power of this product is mediocre. I love this lipgloss. . . I just wish it wasn't so expensive ($18).

Misc Beauty Tools -Gillette - Venus Divine
rated 5 of 5

This razor is great. It has 3 moisture strips that are enriched with aloe and natural oils. The head of the razor pivots so that you may shave around the contours of your body. This razor offers a close comfortable shave and though it costs a bit more than the rest . . . I'd still buy it again.

This smells soooo good and moisturizes soooo well. I don't particularly like the price, but I do love, love, love how it makes my skin feel (soft and smooth). I usually use this right after I jump out of the shower and dry off.

Powder -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation
rated 5 of 5
sistahmaryisis 9/8/2006 10:34:00 AM

I decided to try this after seeing it on display at Walgreens. I bought the classic tan color as it matched the best with my skin tone (I'm a NC42). I love the finish that this foundation offers. I found it to apply easily and cover well. I also got a lot of compliments when I wore this. Everyone asked me if I had done something new with my makeup. I attribute that to this foundation. It isn't heavy and I can wear it daily without having to worry about break-outs (unlike with my HG MAC studiofix). I have noticed that it looks a lot better if I apply it after I use a moisturizer. If I don't apply after a moisturizer it will tend to creep into any line (and I don't have many) that I have on my face. A lot of people complain about the packaging . . . mainly the brush . . .and I will say that it is a little harsh. If you have really sensitive skin it just may irritate you. Also the bristles come out. . . which is a hassle having to pick them off your face. I don't care for the brush. . .but I don't hate it either. The price was low for a mineral foundation . . .but as many reviewers mentioned this isn't a PURE mineral foundation. I personally, don't care about the talc or other ingredients simply because they haven't affected my skin. However, I'm sure that if they did (like they have with many other reviewers) I, too, would choose not to use it again. So far so good though. . . I really like this and will definitely buy it again.

Blush -Milani - Smooth Finish Blush - Luminous
rated 5 of 5
sistahmaryisis 9/8/2006 10:06:00 AM

I first said this blush didn't show up on my tan skin . . . I was wrong. It takes a little more of it than I'm used to. So with the right application, this blush is beautiful. A very light peachy color with a bit of golden shimmer. It leaves me looking naturally flushed.
