Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Ultra Shimmer in Ultra Rose
sisipie 12/28/2003 7:02:00 PM
I don't think the lipstick is that bad! Yes, it is more glittery on the top than it is throughout the lipstick, but I wouldn't call it "semi-matte". It's still very shimmery. It is not sheer or glossy, but I don't recall Revlon ever making those claims. To my eye, Ultra Rose is definitely a medium rose color with golden shimmer. I agree with the other reviewer that it is a little misleading in the packaging, since it looks more golden on the top but isn't duochrome as appearances would suggest. It seems darker than I imagined it would be based on the way it looked in the package. Also, I didn't notice *any* scent or taste at all, but perhaps my nose is not as sensitive as I thought.
I took off lipsticks for two things: one, the lipstick is slightly drying on my lips; two, the packaging is terrible! The physical appearance of the tube is fine; it looks like a Revlon lipstick. However, the lipstick does not twist all the way down into the tube, so I always end up damaging the lipstick trying to get the cap back on. So annoying! I think this lipstick may be a YMMV thing, depending on your personal definitions of shimmer and glitter. Some of the colors are quite fetching (like Ultra Ruby, a gorgeous bright red), so by all means, try it if you're interested.

Lip Gloss -MAC - song and dance lipglass
sisipie 11/6/2003 8:46:00 PM
Finally! A MAC Lipglass that really works with my coloring and looks good on me. This is everything I wanted Lust to be, but wasn't. Awesome! It's totally my lips, but better. If you are fair with cool undertones, you will love this. I know I do!

Cleansers -Purpose - Moisturizing Foaming Cleanser
sisipie 11/3/2003 9:09:00 PM
I have sensitive, combination skin. This cleanser leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. I don't think it's very moisturizing; however, it's difficult for me to say whether or not it is since I don't particularly need moisture. But, it doesn't dry out my skin either. It's just right. It can take off light eye makeup, but nothing heavy. I really like this cleanser. It's always a challenge to find something that doesn't hurt my sensitive skin, and this fits the bill perfectly.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
sisipie 11/3/2003 8:44:00 PM
This isn't a bad mascara, it's just not a good one. It didn't do anything to my lashes. My lashes are long and dark black, but not very full, so I always look for a thickening mascara. This didn't add length, thickness, or any visible color. It would be great if you want an *extremely* natural look.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
sisipie 11/3/2003 8:39:00 PM
This is a nice, gentle cleanser. It's great for sensitive skin like mine, particularly if it's dry. It's fairly good at removing eye makeup as well. It doesn't foam very well, so I have switched to Purpose's foaming cleanser, which is also great for sensitive skin. I don't use this anymore, but I would go back to Cetaphil if Purpose was discontinued.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
sisipie 11/3/2003 8:33:00 PM
I love this blush! It looks so gorgeous and natural on my fair, cool-toned skin. I've gotten comments (particularly from men for some reason) that I look "fresh", "glowy", and as one male co-worker put it, "happy in the face" when I wear this blush. It's a wonderful peachy-pink color. There's no glitter, just a golden shimmer, and it's not like a "Hey, I'm wearing shimmer" shimmer, it just makes you glow. The texture is fairly silky, and the rubberized packaging is great and sturdy. Totally worth the hype. Comes with my *glowing* reccomendation.

Lotions/ Creams -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Foot Cream
sisipie 6/17/2002 11:08:00 PM
Okay, I really like the way this stuff works. It says it lasts for more than 17 hours, and I believe it! I put it on at night and it stayed through my shower the next morning. It really helped my dry, diabetic feet. It even helped smooth over some callouses. However, the smell of this product is...well, how can I put this nicely? The nicest word I can think of to describe this odor is PUTRID! It's really yucky. A very heavy, heady, floral smell. Yuck. But it works. Here's a note to Neutrogena: You make all of your other Norwegian Formula products in Original and Fragrance-Free, so why not the Foot Cream? Please?

Lip Gloss -New York Color - Brush-On Lip Glaze
sisipie 5/4/2002 7:08:00 PM
I am in love with this lip gloss! I bought Bliss, which is a perfect "my-lips-but-better" color (for me, anyway). It's a sheer medium pink with a touch of mauve. The smell and taste is just like Naturistics Miss Kiss lip gloss pens (they are owned by the same parent company, Del Laboratories), which I happen to love. The texture is great- smooth and sticky (but not as sticky as MAC Lipglass- I don't think there's anything as sticky as that). The brush may get a little splayed (I'm trying very hard not to let that happen). There seems to be quite a bit of gloss in the tube, so this is an incredible value for $3! I want to buy Beautiful (I think it may be exactly like Miss Kiss in Honeybee) and Luscious. Awesome lip gloss!

Lip Gloss -Jane - Swirled lipglosses
sisipie 3/29/2002 6:05:00 PM
Okay, I'm thinking I got a bad batch or something, because I really HATED this stuff! I also had Dreamsicle. To me, the taste was gross and medicinal- very fake. It reminded me of yucky chewable Vitamin C tablets. And while the swirl of light blue and white looks very cool in the tub, it looks gross on my lips! It's not shimmery at all- it just looks like a flat, pale, baby blue on my lips. It wouldn't even be cool for a funky look. I guess it's because I'm just too pale. Maybe they redesigned it or something since I bought it- mine was (I threw it away) a few years old. YMMV.

Lip Gloss -Jane - Megabites Glossy Gloss
sisipie 3/29/2002 5:57:00 PM
I like this gloss. I got Ballerina, which looks like a pretty, slightly coral pink color in the tube but actually goes on basically clear with VERY gritty glitter. It's a pretty thin gloss. Also, there is a little separation in the tube between the pink and some kind of even thinner gold liquid stuff. (I don't really know what it is.) And call me crazy, but I like the cherry scent and flavor. I think it's yummy. It does look pretty on my lips- the glitter makes it sort of holographic. And if you don't press your lips together, you won't really notice the grittiness. I want to try Clearly Pink next, since it doesn't have glitter and it's got the same taste and scent.

Eye Shadow -Jane - radiation in fushia fusion
sisipie 3/29/2002 5:42:00 PM
I love Radiation shimmer powders! This is my favorite shade. It can be added to clear lip gloss to make a beautiful shimmery pink color; it works great as eyeshadow (especially with an eyeshadow base); and it also looks great as a blush or on top of another blush- either way it adds a very pretty, fairy-like, ethereal glow. A great multi-purpose product. Five lippies from me!

Eyeliner -Jane - Going Steady Eye Definer
sisipie 3/29/2002 5:37:00 PM
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or maybe I got a bad batch or something. I absolutely LOVE the color I have- Pink-A-Boo- because it's a beautiful cotton candy pink with lots of gold and pink shimmer. I don't know why they call these liners. It is a very creamy formula, so it doesn't set or dry to a powder. So I tried to use it as an eyeshadow, but the only way I could get it to stay was if I blended A LOT. When I do that, I lose all the beautiful color and it merely leaves shimmer. If I don't blend, it creases like crazy! I usually love Jane, but this product just plain sucks. It's too bad, because Pink-A-Boo is really pretty. I hope I can find a similar color in some other eyeshadow.

Mascara -L'Oreal - FeatherLash [DISCONTINUED]
sisipie 3/29/2002 5:15:00 PM
I wear this mascara every day. My eyelashes are already fairly long and very dark (but not very thick), so this just seperates my lashes and gives a little length. Perfect for a natural look. No clumping or smudging. It doesn't end up under my eyes like other mascaras. It also leaves my lashes soft, which is great for me because I hate the way most mascaras feel. My favorite mascara!

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Liquid Liner in Jaded
sisipie 3/29/2002 5:02:00 PM
I'm glad that I waited to buy this, but at the same time I'm not. I'm glad because it was $7 and I bought it at the Target clearance for $1.73. I'm not glad because it is really beautiful- it makes me wish I'd had it all along! I'm really into minty green eye stuff right now, so this is perfect! I'm not very good with liquid eyeliner, but I'm getting better, and since this stuff is so light, it's hard to tell when I mess up anyway. Looks great with Loreal Colour Fresco (stick form, used as shadow) in Sea Green and Bourjois Pastel Lumiere Pearl Eyeshadow in Vert Ondine.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Lust
sisipie 3/28/2002 10:07:00 PM
This is almost too warm and peachy for me (cool, pale coloring with pink undertones). But it's got enough pink and brown to look pretty, though not quite natural. I love the consistency- very tacky and moisturizing. It's also very shiny. I do like this color and would buy it again (along with other Lipglass colors).
