When I first bought it, I thought "that's it? my Revlon curler does the same thing for much cheaper?!". That was before I learned how to curl lashes in 3 steps. This curler fits my Asian-looking eyes, and I get beautiful curls with it. It does pinch a little if I don't use carefully though. Also, it's been about 4 months since I've started using it, and it has loosened a bit. I wonder if that "change your eyelash curler every 6 months" rule is valid. Well, we'll see!
I like it, but I don't love it. I'll probably look for another mascara when I finish this up. The Sephora diagram showed this mascara as both volumizing and lengthening, that's why I bought it. It does lengthen my lashes, but there's nothing on the volumizing side. If I curl my eyelashes before putting this on, it holds the curl for hours. If I use it on its own, it doesn't help my lashes look any more curled. It is very long-lasting but also a PITA to remove! As I said, I just like it..
What a lovely shade! I love the slight brightness of this pink-red color, it makes me look very healthy. It is super super pigmented and I'm NC30, so I just touch it lightly with my MAC 187 once and that is enough! This might last me for years! I'm not disappointed to be honest, I love the color, I love the pigmentation. I'd buy it again (if I can finish this up, lol!).
This was the worst of the NARS blushes I've owned. Maybe mine was from a defective batch, but it had almost no pigmentation compared to my other NARS blushes. Normally one-two swipes of the MAC 187 brush are enough for my NARS blushes to show up, but this one barely showed up on my NC30 cheeks after 6. And when it did, it was an ugly color. Torrid is the only disappointing NARS product for me so far. My theory is that the Torrid I bought came from a defective batch..
I thought they discontinued my favorite peach scent of all times because I couldn't find it in Europe. I found it on the US website by coincidence and I can't describe my happiness! The peach cream perfume is my one and only HG scent, it smells just like a ripe peach. Not too sugary, not too sour. I can't believe they're $3, they were much more expensive over Europe. Just the thought of the scent makes me happy!
Definitely worth it. MAC NC30 is a bit yellow and dark on me, I wear this foundation in Beige. It is not a heavy cream so I don't feel like there's a mask on my face. I actually don't feel anything, but the coverage is very good. When I look at the mirror after putting it on, I can't locate my pores, they all vanish! And that's what I love most about this foundation. This foundation makes my skin glow, I control the oil on my face with MAC Blot powder. It covers just the right amount without seeming cakey or feeling stiff. I used the MAC 190SE brush for this, and even with that crappy brush I got beautiful results; I don't even know how it will look with a quality brush! The reason I bought this foundation was to get something that would do a good job evening out my skintone/covering imperfections without clogging my pores or looking cakey (an Everyday Minerals victim talking here). It is definitely worth $45, and you just need to use a little to get decent coverage. I love love love it!
A great color from MAC. I either put on a light layer with a brush to get a more natural look or I pile up the layers and get the nice, dark, brown-red color. I pair this with a peach-pink blush like NARS Orgasm and it looks beautiful. The only thing I don't like is the drying effect. I feel like my lips are cracking under this. Other than that, great color and smell.
Beautiful red color to wear with navy, I'm loving it!
Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types

I tried the Sephora deluxe sample of this and it took me 4 days to see the problems it caused. I changed nothing but my moisturizer in those 4 days and now I have small itchy bumps all over my cheeks. I was hopeful that it would help with my breakouts, but no. I have even more now. And it didn't really moisturize, my skin felt just as dry before putting it on. Complete disappointment, I'll stay away from this.
Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover

This removes most of my eye makeup. I still get some leftover eyeliner/mascara under my eyes in the morning after using this at night. It doesn't irritate my eyes, it doesn't leave my eyes oily when it dries, it doesn't smell horrible. For the price, it does its job well I guess.
This is love. The perfect red lipstick I've been looking for. I was suspicious at first because of the disappointment Jungle Red caused, but this is nothing like it. It's a beautiful shade of red on me (NC30), it's buildable and every layer of it looks good, plus it makes my teeth look whiter. Another hit from NARS!
Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation Original Glo Formula

EM was the only mineral makeup brand I've ever used. I spent weeks trying to find a match for my shade and I loved the free sample deal. I've used this foundation for months, loving the coverage it gave me and the "natural" feeling. Sadly, I just realized this dusty mess was clogging my pores like hell. I would never suspect this product to do so, this is why I used it for such a long time. I'd rather buy more expensive but safer products than mess with my skin. No more EM for me.
Makeup Brushes -MAC - Adoring Carmine Face Brush Set 2008
sirensandsailors 2/9/2009 9:47:00 AM
The worst purchase of 2008. And I bought it before the sets were on sale. Cheap material, bad quality, horrible sparse and scratchy hair... If I could see them at a store I would never even think about getting them. Complete waste of money and disappointment from MAC.
This is my first metal lash comb, and I like it very, very much. No more clumpy, sticky lashes! I also had a plastic one from SK but it is not even comparable to the metal version. I recommend spending a couple more bucks and getting this instead of the plastic one, it's worth the investment!
Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche - Star Secrets - Millas Plum

This is the only lipstick I've used up. It is layerable, creamy and looks great with my skintone - NC30. I have multiple backups for this just in case it is discontinued : ) An all-time favorite!
