Blush -MAC - Beauty Powder in Softdew (Catherine Deneuve Icon)

I bought this because of the limited edition package. The MA tried both this and the Tahitian Sand on me and this one showed up more. She recommended me to use this as a blush because it is too dark as an all over powder for my LLL MAC C2 skintone. It looks boring and brownish in the pan but on my cheeks, it's a plummy pink that really brightens my face. I don't think this colour is that special. It can probably be found easily in other lines or even at the drugstore. The compact is cute and tacky at the same time.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Taupeless (Lustre)

This is a very pale light purple with lots of silver shimmer/glitter. On top of eye shadow base, it takes a few layers for the purple tint to show up. As with most lustre eye shadows, the glitter falls onto my cheeks. I like to wear this on top of other colours to spice things up. My favourite is to layer it over Urban Decay's Hot Pants to get a light pinky purple colour.

Blush -Quo - Lip and Cheek Tint Mini Trio Holiday 2005

I bought this during the holidays last year. So far I have only used the pink cheek tint. I've tried it over powder foundation, liquid foundation and tinted moisturizer. It does not work over powder foundation. It didn't blend well and I ended up with splotchy cheeks. It is ideal over freshly applied liquid foundation and tinted moisturizer. I apply it before transluscent powder. This stuff is really pigmented. I just put a dab on my cheeks and blend it out. It gives me a fresh and glowy look. I'll update my review once I get around to using the other two colours.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion

Mmm... this smells like chocolate! When I wear this lotion, I don't put on any other fragrance because the scent is so strong. It smells so delicious. I only use it on my arms and legs because I'm afraid it will give me break outs on my chest/back. It's not extremely moisturizing but it does the job all right. I'm not fond of the bottle. I'd much prefer a pump bottle instead.

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Volume Boost Liquid Lipcolour

I have the clear one called Siren. I was curious about the new lip plumping glosses on the market and thought this one would be a cheap one to try first. Although I didn't notice any "plumping" but it did tingle my lips initially after application. It has a sweet cinnamon scent but no taste. I love the brush applicator. I wish more wand glosses came with brush applicators. I will repurchase this in other colours if lighter colours come out. The line currently has some dark colours. Rimmel should definitely add some light pinks and peaches.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - Stashette Holiday 2005- Olive

I am very happy with this brush set because it contains brushes that I don't have in my collection. It's also a pretty good deal for only $60. Too bad it's limited edition. I don't store the brushes in the brush bag because the bag squashes the bristles a little bit. I use the bag as a makeup bag in my purse and I've received many compliments on how cute it is although I would have preferred a magnetic snap closure instead of the regular grommet closure. I'm afraid it might rip the fabric some day! All the brushes are of great quality and I use them regularly with the exception of the conture brush. I haven't really figured that one out yet. My favourite brush is the foundation brush which works with both powder and liquid foundation to give a smooth finish.

Lipstick -MAC - Bare Venus

This is a pale, cool-toned nude that washes me out when worn alone. For reference, I have LLL (MAC C2) skintone and not very pigmented lips. It takes some effort to make Bare Venus to work on me and I'd only wear this lip colour with smokey eyes. I like to use it with a variety of lipliners such as MAC Subculture, EL Automatic Lip Pencil in Soft Pink or EL Spice. I also like it topped with MAC Nymphette Lipglass and Spring Fling Juicy Tube. I won't purchase again because I just don't see myself finishing this lipstick.

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer

This "self-tanner" is marketed as a moisturizing body lotion. However, I only use this in the summer when I want some colour on my light skin. I used up a tube last summer and I loved it. Although it is supposed to be a moisturizer, I treat it like a self-tanner and apply it evenly. Apply sparingly on knees and elbows and wash hands after applying. There is a bit of a self-tanner smell but it's not too bad. The colour fades evenly after a couple of days if you don't keep on reapplying it everyday as your moisturizer. I plan to repurchase again when the weather warms up.

This stuff is so cheap and it really works. I bought this on sale for only $2.99. It leaves my hair soft after blowdrying so I really feel that it's conditioning my hair. This product really makes a difference on my hair. The spray bottle is kind of annoying because it clogs frequently and I have to run the opening under hot water to unclog it.

Blush -MAC - Blushcreme - Uncommon

Uncommon looks like a pale nude peach in the pan but on my cheeks, it is more of a tan peach. It's a very pretty colour that would look great on fair or light skin. The texture of the blushcremes is wonderful. They are moisturizing and give a bit of sheen (but no shimmer). I love cream blushes in the winter because my skin is dry. I also dabbed some on my lips and topped it with some clear gloss for soft nude lips. You get a lot for your money because these blushcremes will last forever! Just a dab on each cheek gives me a healthy look.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Fantastic Lash [DISCONTINUED]

This mascara didn't do anything for my lashes. After applying a few coats, my eyelashes looked the same. It also smudged under my eyes within a few hours. I will not stray from my beloved Super Thick Lash again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Lustreleaf

In the pan, this eyeshadow looks like a pale seafoam green with lots of silver glitter. On my eyelids, it takes quite a few layers to build up to green and the glitter falls onto my cheeks. It's probably not the best choice for a day eye shadow. I don't reach for this product much but maybe that will change in the spring.

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Skin

This is a really good primer that leaves a smooth finish and also tones down redness. It has some shimmer in it but it's not noticeable after application. It's the perfect skin prep before foundation or powder. I usually use this under MAC Studio Fix and it has made a difference in the appearance and lasting power of my makeup. My nose wasn't shiny after a couple of hours nor did it fade at the end of the day. The price is right at $24 (compared to other primers offered at department stores). The only complaint I have is the opaque pump bottle. I think it would be better if the bottle was clear so you can see how much is left.

Palettes -Stila - must-haves

I have the 2005 set which I bought at Holt's for only $36. It was a really to get 4 high quality shadows, 2 glosses and a mascara from Stila for such a low price. The shadows (shimmery light beige, shimmery golden pink-peach, shimmery light taupe, and matte chocolate brown) work together to give a natural look that's perfect for every day. I always use an eye shadow base and these shadows last all day. They actually look better as the day goes on. The two lipglosses are sheer and last a decent amount of time on me. The paler shade is pretty much clear on me but I love the peachy gold one. If I could change one thing about this set is the packaging. It's so cheap!

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Gloss - Barely Blossom

I bought this in a set that came with a matching nail polish for only $4.79. Barely Blossom is a sheer, neutral baby pink with tiny pearl shimmer that works with a variety of looks. I imagine that it won't show up on pigmented lips but it's a pretty baby pink on mine. As with all SL glosses, the texture is thick but moisturizing. This is a spring favourite of mine.
