Eyeliner -MAC - Smolder eye kohl
rated 5 of 5
silverbelle282 2/28/2013 5:56:00 PM

This smudges like nobodys business. As a contact lens wearer with sensitive, allergy-prone eyes, there's no way I'm letting this near my water line. However I gave this a high rating because I use it two ways successfully - smudged over the lid, under a primer, as a dark base for smoky eyes, and as a base liner underneath beauty marked eyeshadow. I only need a little bit of smoulder straight from the pencil and then I go over top with a smudge brush dipped in eyeshadow. The shadow sets the liner while the liner brings out the true color of the shadow.

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream
rated 5 of 5
silverbelle282 2/21/2013 11:39:00 PM

Indian, NC40-42, dark brown eyes and black hair for reference. I have the typical hereditary under eye circles, which this cream doesn't really do anything about. In fact, I am resigned to the reality that nothing short of what I consider extreme measures would completely get rid of them (i.e., using products with bleaching agents). That being said, I feel like this cream might add some luminosity to the areas which I apply it, like a highliting cream does. Mostly, I love the way that it sinks right into my skin and moisturizes so well! I would buy this again to feel that luxurious feeling...

Treatments (Eye) -Sephora - Sephora Age Defy Eye Cream
rated 2 of 5
silverbelle282 2/21/2013 11:31:00 PM

Indian, NC40-42, dark brown eyes and black hair for reference. Received this as a sample and would not make a purchase. Basically, it balled up on me when I put on my under eye concealer and essentially I would have to wipe it off and start all over. I had about a two week sample, and noticed if I applied lightly this happened less, but then what's the point?

Moisturizers -Sephora - Age Defy Moisture Cream SPF 15
rated 3 of 5
silverbelle282 2/21/2013 11:28:00 PM

Indian, NC40-42, dark brown eyes and black hair for reference. I received this as a sample like other reviewers here. I used it up because I didn't want to waste it. It's pretty thick, which is great for winter, and hydrating. BUT, I did have a pilling issue as well... Would not purchase this.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
rated 5 of 5
silverbelle282 2/21/2013 11:22:00 PM

Indian, NC40-42, dark brown eyes and black hair for reference. I truly love this moisturizer. It keeps me hydrated all day, my skin feels so soft, and I really love the scent. Used it years ago when I received it as a gift, and then in true beauty addict fashion tried several other face creams for kicks. Have just started another jar of this, and was reminded of how much I love it. I will definitely buy again!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Beauty Marked
rated 4 of 5
silverbelle282 2/21/2013 11:07:00 PM

NC40-42, black hair, brown eyes, Indian skin tone, for reference. I bought this one years ago because I loved the way it glittered in the pan. Unfortunately, like many other reviewers before me, I have not really been able to bring out the best of this color. Truthfully, since I am currently in a "shopping my stash" mode, I have been carrying this one around with me and using it as liner. I do a neutral shade on lids, use my smolder eye kohl to line very close to the lash line, and then pick beauty marked up with a smudger brush and apply it over the smolder, blending as I go. It brings out the sparkles a little bit more. I wouldn't purchase again only because I have TOO MANY black liner options currently in my stash (gels, shadows, pencils, liquids, etc...).

Lip Gloss -MAC - Viva Glam Gaga Lipglass
rated 4 of 5
silverbelle282 12/30/2012 4:31:00 PM

Indian, NC40-42, dark brown eyes, black hair, for reference. I love anything Viva Glam. That being said, the reviewer below who used the words 'trashy Barbie' really made me laugh. I hate to say it but that's how this cool toned milky light pink looks on me! I really cannot wear it alone, but I will definitely use it up. I think for me it will do best to tone down or add dimension to darker pink/purple lipsticks (i.e., Tarina Tarantino's Candy Jar, Victoria's Secret 'Perfect Kiss.'

Lipstick -MAC - Pink Pearl Pop
rated 4 of 5
silverbelle282 12/30/2012 4:07:00 PM

Indian, NC40-42, dark brown eyes, black hair, for reference. This is a fun pink which leans towards the cool side. It's easy to wear - just swipe on and go. As the reviewer below stated, it definitely has a creamy and balm-like feeling on the lips which is nice.

Lipstick -MAC - Coral Bliss
rated 3 of 5
silverbelle282 12/30/2012 3:54:00 PM

Indian, NC40-42, dark brown eyes, and black hair, for reference. I purchased this one on a whim because I love anything coral. Well, I rarely reach for it. Even though the color itself is pretty, and the formula is creamy, this particular lipstick seems to showcase every flaw on my lips. It seems to happen even when my lips are completely exfoliated and prepped and lined (usually with Boldly Bare). So I tend to throw a gloss on top (usually Fulfilled). The color itself, though subtle, is great because its still prominently coral pink (as opposed to a flat beige-nude), and I can see it balancing out bolder and darker eye looks. However, because the color needs so much 'work,' I would not purchase this again. If anyone has recommendations on a similar color in different lines, I would love to hear them!

Lipstick -MAC - Venus
rated 4 of 5
silverbelle282 12/30/2012 3:35:00 PM

Indian, NC40-42, dark brown eyes and black hair for reference. On me, this is a creamy, easy to wear, light pink that covers my natural pigmentation and still reads as 'pink.' I tend to throw this color on when I'm doing bolder eyes. For example, yesterday I had a purple and taupe smokey eye with royal blue liner, and threw on Lovelorn. It was 'too much,' so on this went. It does not fit into the category of 'nude' lips for me, but is a little more pigmentation than a nude pink would be (i.e., Hug Me).

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Twinkle Glossimer
rated 3 of 5
silverbelle282 9/18/2012 4:26:00 PM

My thoughts echo previous reviews in the sense that worn alone this gloss looks garishly gold on my Indian, pigmented lips. Disappointed that it never shows up like the color in the tube. Further, I constantly wipe excess product off the wand so there's a wastage issue. Was inspired to use this tube I've had for years (my first and only Chanel product) due to recent buzz about 10 pan projects and specktra's shop your stash challenge. Find that this is usable over coral lipsticks, and the texture isn't bad. Would not purchase again but will use up this tube.

Lipstick -MAC - Slimshine - Missy
rated 3 of 5
silverbelle282 4/19/2008 11:14:00 PM

okay. so i love this color, and originally bought it to go underneath fulfilled plushglass to make my lips a true peach color, but i'm having problems with this slimshine. the color goes on unevenly, and slips around on my lips haphazardly. while i love the idea of a true peach lipstick, i cannot wear this one alone as i do with my other slimshines (pleasing, and gaily from the first launch) because it is streaky and does not provide even coverage on my lips. i have to apply it with my finger and work it into a very sheer layer on my lips and/or cover it with lipgloss. maybe i just got a defective tube? i will be searching for a substitute from the permanent line in terms of color, because it is a beautiful hue.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Kitten
rated 5 of 5
silverbelle282 4/10/2008 1:20:00 AM

i got this in the best of stila set as well. i have to stress that a little does go a long way with this super shimmery eyeshadow. i noticed when i put a little on my brush and really blend it onto my eye area it gives a nice sheen of champagne color. when i pack it on, the shimmer becomes chunky, so i think for me it's better as a light wash. i touch my brush with it, and it almost seems to go on creamy. i love the formulation of stila shadows. the only downside is that they are soft in the pot and produce a lot of dust and such when you use them/they move around in your bag. i gave it a 3 for the packaging because although it is sturdy, i hate that i can't just flip it open and that i have to twist and take off the top.

Mascara -Boots - Ultimate curl
rated 4 of 5
silverbelle282 4/10/2008 1:08:00 AM

so i bought this one at target, and i had never tried anything from this brand. there was a boots rep there who told me that this line is a number one seller in the UK. anyway, i decided i'd try out a mascara first, as it's kind of pricey for a drugstore line in my opinion...this mascara is pretty good in that it curls really well, doesn't clump or smudge, and i can see all the action within one swipe of the wand. my only issue with it is that it does not really give me the volume that i get from other mascaras like mac plushlash or maybeline full n' soft. but it does do what it promises to do! i think that i will try more from this line next time i'm in target.
