Liquid -Liz Earle - Sheer Skin Tint

I had a tester for this which I just took on a weekend break. Each shade is meant to suit a wide range of people. I used the lightest shade Bare 01, which was an amazingly good colour match and had me tingling with excitement from the off and earns it an extra bonus point BUT this initial excitement soon wore off and here's why:- 1) After application my face looked shiny and sweaty, not a huge problem as it was tamed with powder, but not completely eradicated. 2) When I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror later that day I looked hideous. My face appeared saggy and bloated, two things that I may be on the 30-something cusp of, but have never noticed before, especially not when made-up. 3) It left my face tacky- all day! Overall I feel I'd get the same results using tinted pritt-stick, hugely disappointing.

Liquid -Clinique - Even Better Makeup SPF 15
rated 4 of 5

Coverage is heavy, but I like it and it lasts all day. I have had compliments about my skin whilst wearing it. I found it too heavy to wear in winter though, and I had to stop using it because it started to feel cakey and made my skin feel dry. I have it in alabaster, the lightest shade, which is still a tad too dark for me but its not that noticable, especially in summer, so am fine with reserving it for seasonal use. Re-opened it summer just gone and I'd forgotten just how much I liked it. Plus its not in a silly glass bottle, but a tube you can carry around with you and get all the product out of.

Liquid -Clarins - Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Foundation
rated 4 of 5
silentboo 10/14/2011 6:00:00 AM

hate glass bottles for foundation, but I have this in cream, shade 104, and its the first foundation I've come accross in a long while which matches my skin colour completely. It has other plus points- feels nice on, gives a nice finish, BUT the redness I have on my face shows through after hardly no time at all. This is really frustrating and means I won't be buying it again.

I like this but it seems to cleanse more than it tones.

Its ok, it moisturises but is slightly sticky. Will be investigating other eye-creams with SPF when the tube is out.

I like this product. I use it every morning to remove the residue of lastnight's make-up.

Concealers -Estee Lauder - Smoothing Cream Concealer
rated 4 of 5
silentboo 10/14/2011 5:21:00 AM

Nice colour, but its a bit too thick and settles into lines. To get round this I dilute mine with other products (anything from high-beam to varous eye creams), and I love the result when I do. I'm not going to rush out to buy this again, but under-eye concealers seem to be a difficult thing to get right and as I know I can get reults I like with this I may come back to it eventually.

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Bobbi Brown Lip Treatment Desert Rose Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
silentboo 10/14/2011 5:06:00 AM

I think this colour would suit almost everbody. Its a nice moisturising formula, one of the few lipsticks that doesn't leave my lips dry. Having just lost it I realised I can't live without it and have had to order another pronto.

Blush -Clarins - Multi-Blush in Tender Lychee
rated 5 of 5

Like the colour and the way it applies. I'm a bit worried about the review below saying this has been discontinued as I've had my pot for a few months now and love it. I will be buying this product again- if its still available that is!

Skincare - Face -Liz Earle - Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
rated 5 of 5
silentboo 10/14/2011 4:52:00 AM

I love everything about this product though I'm too lazy to use it everyday. Its nice to use a face wash gentle enough to remove eye make-up and it leaves my skin so soft that I've actually left the house having forgotten to moisturise a couple of times.

Masks -Liz Earle - Brightening treatment mask
rated 4 of 5
silentboo 8/17/2011 11:49:00 AM

Normally when I buy face masks they sit on the shelf until they've dried out having only been used once or twice. However I use this product every week or so, it appeals to me because: You don't have to leave it on for long. It doesn't make my skin feel tight. Its not messy. Seems to come in a smaller tube than others I've used. Feels like a real treat which does brighten my complexion.

Moisturizers -Origins - NIght-A-Mins Cream
rated 3 of 5
silentboo 8/17/2011 11:37:00 AM

I quite liked this night cream. It smells nice, its rich without being greasy. I'm scared to use it every night in case it gives me super-oily skin. I much prefer the Dr Weils Bedtime face cream and will be going back to this when my Night-a-Mins pot is empty.

Misc Beauty Tools -Bobbi Brown - Brush Cleaning Spray
rated 5 of 5
silentboo 8/17/2011 11:32:00 AM

I'm quite lazy and hardly ever wash my make-up brushes and this product makes me feel less guilty about it. Only my foundation brush doesn't come away completely clean after use, but I still feel half cleaning it is better than not cleaning it at all. I have noticed the slightly oily look of brushes after use which the last review describes as a film, but I've never worried about it as it doesn't seem to have any adverse effect on them or my make-up application.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes
rated 3 of 5
silentboo 8/17/2011 11:25:00 AM

I have to repeat a lot of what's been said here already. The brush comes out with far too much product on, very much not in keeping with one of its advertised selling points. The formula is really wet. If you blink too soon after application it lands up everywhere. Flakes a little late in the day but does volumise without clumping. I will try another product next time.

Mascara -Lancome - Oscillation Vibrating Infinite Mascara
rated 2 of 5
silentboo 5/17/2011 10:49:00 AM

I bought this on a whim and felt immediately guilty- I knew I'd been suckered, there's noway that a vibrating mascara is going to be any better than a regular one...and I was right. Not only that, its almost impossible to use the vibrating mechanism and apply the mascara at the same time. The product starts to make your eyelashes stick together the moment you try to reapply it to areas its already started to dry in, so if you're not quick with your first application or you've missed a bit it will start to look clogged on your eyelashes. If that wasn't bad enough, the dryness of it means small particles crack off for the rest of the day, you'll find them all over your face but mainly under your eyes. Its by far the worse mascara I've ever used.
