Skincare - Face -MD Formulations - Vit-A-Plus Night Recovery Complex
rated 5 of 5

Very potent, more efficient than the continous renewal products and not to be used on any kind of broken skin. I really love it! I suffer from psoriasis which means my skin doesn't shed dead skin properly, but with this I can forget all about flaking, dull skin. Makes my skin radiant and with an even skintone, so much that I don't think I need foundation. A+, but please take warnings seriously, this is not a 'slather on' product, it's a treatment that should be used with care (and sunscreen).

Treatments -MD Formulations - Continiuous Renewal Serum

This is just as good as the continous renewal complex (in the jar). I have dry skin and have no problems using this. I second all the praises left here in the positive reviews, it's a fabulous exfoliant. I suffer from psoriasis and my skin has trouble shedding dead skin, which makes it build up, flake and sometimes lead to horribly painful little cysts due to clogged pores. My skin is dry, so acne products are a nogo, but this, thankfully, works. Love it and will never be without a chemical exfoliant again. Bit pricy though...

Cleansers -MD Formulations - Facial Cleanser

Not my everyday cleanser, but good when you need a transitional deep clean. I got this because I love the continuous renewal complex and Vit A Plus night recovery, but I am not super impressed by this cleanser. It's just a cleanser. Doesn't dry out my skin though, which is great and cannot be said for most active cleansers. I guess my expectations were just too high, since the other MDF products I've tried have made my skin look 1000 times better than before. I should add that I don't suffer from blackheads or large pores, so if that's what it's really for, that might be the reason I am not overly impressed. No rebuy.

Misc Beauty Tools -Sephora - 3 Inch Fragrance Atomizer

Don't understand the negativity this is getting. The one I got (silver) doesn't leak, sprays in perfect little clouds and is very easy to fill. I love that it contains just a few mls of perfume, so I can change frequently. Also, it's a perfect gift idea if you own a perfume your friend wants but can't/won't spend what a full size bottle costs. Just buy this, fill it with the fragrance she likes and gift it. Maybe with an offer to refill it when it's empty. My friends swap perfumes this way all the time, saving money and space. What's not to like? I clean it by filling a little isopropyl alcohol in it and just spray it through until it's empty. Then fill it with perfume and spray a few times until the scent is free of alcohol. Voilà!

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - HD Concealer

Very happy with this. I am #2 or #3 in F&B foundation, and this in #325 is perfection. You get a TINY amunt for the money, but you also only need a tiiiiiiny amount to do both your eyes. Like a pinheadsized drop for each eye. Longlasting, perfume free, great color selection, decent price. Excellent slim container that doesn't take up much room. The only drawback is that I am kind of annoyed to see a drop dried out in the wand every time I open it, since I don't want to waste any product. But I really don't think you waste more here than with other applicators, and it works very well for actually applying the right (small) amount. Happy camper here, yes to repurchase.

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Rouge Dior Nude 459- Charnelle

Perfect nude MLBB for me, fair neutral skinned blonde. Pale pinky peach. Warms up my face instantly and feels sooo great on. Not slippery or slick, very slightly balmy and the color lasts a decent amount of time for a sheer lipstick. I don't carry much makeup with me, but this one is definitely a purse staple. Just wish it wasn't so expensive! FIY Sephora has a lipstick that's very close to this in color and texture, the Rouge Shine in nr #7 called Matchmaker. Ever so slightly cooler (less peach) and not as nice on the lips, but close.

BB Cream -Omorovicza - Complexion Perfector BB Cream SPF 20

I only got two samples of this from an online purchase, so no comments on long term performance. But I am not impressed by this, and I would certainly feel cheated had I paid full price (couldnt believe it when I found it). It suits my winter skintone just fine (about NW20), a little on the light side, but ok. But it settles into my dry patches and makes them super visible. Maybe its the sunscreen, I don't know, it looks terrible and I will not even use my second sample. Doesn't feel very hydrating either... Sorry. So much for hype. No like.

Mascara -L'Oreal - False Lash Telescopic

Nice wet formula that dries fast. Easy to build up. Like the fourpoint brush, though it dispenses too much product at a time for my lashes. I will not repurchase because it irritates my eyes like nothing else. I can put this on after work (if I havent been wearing makeup) and in to hours my eyes will dry out and itch. It brand new, and Im not putting it on the waterline or into my eyes... Really don't like that. Back to Korres I go..

This in the shade #7 matchmaker is the best dupe for my HG mlbb lipstick ever, Dior Nude in #459 Charnelle. Its a wee bit less peach, but very close and oh so much cheaper! I still prefer my Dior 459, the color lasts a bit longer and its slightly more comfortable on my lips. But this is a great budget friendly alternative. Like it, Sephora, please make more nude/mlbb shades!

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish - Porcelain Pink
rated 2 of 5

I don't like this very much. Think the glittery parts are too chunky. Color is nice, but it's just not as silky as my Becca shimmer powders and I don't think it lasts as well either. I should be the perfect match for the color (pale, cool, blonde), but it's a bit too pink for my taste. Overall, i just don't think it was worth the money, and I like Beccas kind of shimmer much, much better.

Treatments -L'Oreal - Total Repair 5 Instant Miracle

Finally! A drugstore deep conditioner/treatment that makes my hair super soft without weighing it down. I don't use conditioner everyt time I wash my hair, because my hair is super fine. Instead, i use this one once a week. The tiniest amount is required, about a fingernail-sized dollop, and it makes my hair incredibly easy to comb out, super soft, faster to blowdry and easier to style. I have lots of fine hair and most deep conditioners make my hair limp, this one is quite light, despite of how well it works. It's ridiculously cheap, so a roaring yes to rebuy here. Try it, I am a haircare snob, and this is one the best ds hair products I know of. (Might be called 60 seconds savior in some regions, not sure, but the tubes are very similar)

Eyeliner -Christian Dior - Style Liner - Intense liquid Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
signemarie 5/24/2013 12:02:00 PM

My favorite eyeliner. Does excactly what I expect: nice clean line, nice clean black, not too glossy, not painlike matte either. Just perfect. Compact and lasts forever. I have gone through maybe 5 of these in the last 10 years and have been very happy with it. I got the Guerlain liquid eyeliner last time (the one in the glass bottle), because this one was sold out. The SA at Sephora told me that the Guerlain one was just as good, but better value because the bottle is bigger. It's ok, but not nearly as good as this one. I will not stray again, this is the one for me. I would really like a graphite sort of shade, though.

Pressed Powders -Paula Dorf - Pressed Powder Bronze Beauty
rated 5 of 5
signemarie 5/24/2013 8:10:00 AM

I bought this after reading the reviews here. I am a fair skinned (natural) blonde, with very low contrast between hair/skin/eyes. I have always had SO much trouble finding blushes and bronzers that 1) 'wakes' up my face without 2) making my skin look 'dirty' (like brown bronzers do) and 3) doesn't drag out the redness in my skin. This one is p-er-f-e-c-t for me! When I got it, I was shocked (bought it unseen online). I would describe the pan as a plummy pink bordering on purple, a color I would never have given any consideration had I checked it out in a store. But it warms up my face like nothing else and makes me look healthy, sunkissed and awake. Like I have been out sailing or at the beach all day. I use just a little on a big brush and dust it over cheekbones, chin, jawbone, temple, a little across the forehead and a dab on the nose. Simple and quick, the best easy quick fix for my apperance I have ever had. I am SO grateful for the other reviews from pale girls, like I said, I would never have considered this in a store, but it's the most treasued product in my makeup bag and I would be devastated to lose it since I can't get PD products in my country. So thanks MUA and thanks Paula Dorf :-)

Lipstick -Korres - Mango Butter Lipstick in Natural Pink 13
rated 3 of 5
signemarie 10/16/2012 4:13:00 AM

No rebuy for this shade, but I will definitely get other shades. The formula is superb! Rich and creamy, but sheer. A good alternative to Chanels Rouge Coco Shine. Packaging is impressive and chic. Lots of potential here. But the color... This color should match my pale skin, blonde hair and blue eyes perfectly, but it's just enough of a flesh-tone pink to drag out redness in my skin. I think it would look magical on brunettes with yellow-toned skin. On me, it's just a little too... fleshy, is the best word to describe it, I think. I got the cherry gloss in natural purple which is a great shade for me, so my next buy will be this product in the natural purple shade. Five lippies for product, 2 for shade on my lips.

Loose Powders -Becca - Fine Loose Finishing Powder
rated 4 of 5
signemarie 10/16/2012 4:07:00 AM

I have dry skin, so I don't use much powder, but this is an excellent product. I am NW1520 and I the color Bisque is a good match. It is one of the finest milled powders I have seen in my life, and it seems to go almost transperant when applied. Not entirely, but almost. I think this is a fixing powder more than a coverage product. I use just a little product on a big fluffy brush to set foundation on my nose and chin and it works really, really well. It is expensive, but you get a lot of top quality product here. Would have given five lippies if it wasn't for the perfume.
