Lipstick -Burberry - Lip Mist - Feather Pink

Love it! Very comfortable on the lips and looks a soft sheeny pink. I swipe it 3-4 times for the color to show up. But it doesnt look caked up at all. The case is so stunning. A very luxurious lipstick.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in New Lover

This is a beautiful subtle color that has the versatility of looking good both day and night. The hint of gold makes this color vey unique. Its almost a duochrome of pink and gold and looks very pretty when the light hits. I fell in love with it and hoarded 2 from Sephora, lest they decide to discontinue this beauty!

Treatments -Clinique - Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel
shruti899 12/21/2011 6:42:00 PM
This has proven to be a very efective solution for my pimples so far. For those one or two odd zits that pop up every now and then on my skin, this has worked pretty well. I believe in letting the natural healing process take over but for the last 2-3 weeks, a stubborn pimple bang in the middle of my cheek has tested my patience. I used this gel 2 times overnight and it dried out the zit 80%. It stings a bit but that lasts max 10 seconds. i cannot comment on how well it works on redness/scarring but as of now it looks like its a good healer.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
shruti899 8/28/2011 1:06:00 PM
Im a little bit on the fence with this foundation. I usually go for sheer coverage because my skin is relatively healthy leaving out those darned dark circles. I have been using either the BE powder foundation or Chanel cream foundation. Both are pretty sheer on me. The SA at sephora suggested this when I asked for a liquid foundation. Well, this one gives me medium to full coverage. It conceals well and is pretty easy to use. I got perfectly matched to #45 for my NC 40-42 skin tone. Im not the one to use fancy brushes of different kinds and work most of my foundations into the skin with my fingers. In that respect, its pretty problem free. However, it felt a bit dry around my nose and mouth soon after I was done applying this. Also it gave me a tiny bump on my cheek (not sure if it was the average stray pimple or the result of this foundation. i will test this again though.). I have oily to normal skin, so after a few hours of application my face looked dewy which I dont mind at all. i like my foundations a little dewy anyway. I have to say that it looks the best after an hour of application (yes, its surprising!). Overall, its good if you want medium to full coverage but I won't say it looked beautiful on me. In that respect, nothing can beat the Chanel tient innocence cream foundation. Packaging is convenient. Its pricey for the amount of product. EDIT: This broke me out on the cheek and chin. The bump on my cheek is huge! gasp This foundation is going back.

Treatments -Aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep
shruti899 8/21/2011 2:05:00 PM
This is a very good conditioner for its price. I only use a small amount and rinse out in 5 minutes or so with cold water. It leaves my hair very soft and detangled. Not that my hair is coarse or gets tangled badly. But it does what it claims to do. And its pretty cheap. The smell is good too. I love fruity smells. All in all, I dont feel the need to even brush my hair after the wash. I just finish off with a tiny amount of moroccan oil by Rusk on the ends. working it upwards. The combination leaves my hair shiny and very manageable while enhancing the soft waves. I would def repurchase.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Original SPF 15 Foundation
shruti899 8/19/2011 8:42:00 PM
So, I waited for a week to review this foundation. I wanted to see how this foundation behaves when used regularly. I've used this three times so far and have had different experiences with it. The first time I used it, I think I over used it (blame stupid lighting at sephora). The second time around, I used with a very light hand and was pleased with the effect. Th staying power wasn't super-long though. But I really discovered how to use it after the third time. I used a kabuki brush from sephora (not the BE kabuki brush) and it works just fine. The trick here, like for every other foundation, is to use a very tiny amount on the brush and then blend+buff really well. Its hard to go wrong with this foundation because blending the powder is easy and this one particularly feels like silk to touch. It literally melts away in the skin leaving no ugly patches. It great for a 5-minute-makeup routine which is all the time I can afford to/am interested in spending on my makeup. I found a perfect color match in Golden Tan for my NC 40-42 skin. It doesn't oxidize on me at all and looks very natural and glowy. Literally like no make up on. It made my skin a little itchy the first time I used it but that was the only time this happened. It didn't break me out, so Im guessing it needs a little 'getting used to'. its a superb foundation to even out the skin tone but I can't say that it provides full coverage. I dont think its meant to. This one's a winner for me.

Concealers -Laura Mercier - Secret Concealer
shruti899 8/16/2011 6:39:00 PM
I have had dark under eye circles for as long as I can remember. In my case its 100% genetic and hence, I think its realistic to think that under eye treatments can't do much for my eyes. On the other hand I have big eyes which, which is also 100% genetic and hence I have no reason to complain! lol My dark circles tend to be the darkest on the inner corners of the eye. I use this concealer in #4 and its a perfect match. Check. The problem here is that it covers very effectively if I layer it up but in about 30 minutes, I feel like the darkness seeps out again. May be it is not opaque enough? It doesnt look cakey and blends very well. It looks very oily/greasy once applied but looks fine when set with powder. It works better than the Bobbi Brown concealer for me. So, until I find my HG concealer, this is going to stay in my stash.

Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Volupte Lipstick in #003 Ultimate Beige
shruti899 8/1/2011 7:41:00 PM
Its not beige on me at all. Its a dusty pink..more dusty than pink (if that makes any sense). I could call it a nude shade, only that its very opaque and higly pigmented. Most pinks wash me out but not this one. it looks satiny. Nothing wow or MLBB about it. I would wear it when Im not in the mood to pick a color. This can go with just about anything. One or 2 swipes are more than enough on my lips. Something about the packaging: The color behind the YSL logo is pretty close to what the lipstick is. So, kinda make sup for opaque packaging. Not a huge deal, but I notice the little things in life ;)

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Rum Raisin
shruti899 8/1/2011 4:53:00 PM
After having been totally disappointed with higher-end lip colors in dark shades, I got this after reading fab reviews everywhere. And boy, am I glad I got this! On my NC40-42 skin, it comes out as a rich lovely shade of..ummm...well rum raisin :D! I am having a hard time describing this but its def. not red on me. Which is a good thing. Its silky, deeply pigmented and very rich- yes, just like raisins. I might try to use this as just a slight little stain on the lips to get that MLBB look. Just while im writing this, I think it will go very well with a clean fresh face, strong brows and a simple messy plaid. Yesss! Gonna try that soon. Overall, I think it can be worn as the girl-next-door color & a rich-seductive color with equal ease. Love versatile colors!

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst in Raspberry
shruti899 8/1/2011 4:42:00 PM
What a beauty this one is! Im on a lil' whimsical trip of getting dark lip colors and this one takes me smoothly onto the other side of the fence (So far I have only worn natural/nude shades). Its a beautiful shade and on my lips it comes out as a beautiful red with rich pink undertones to it. Im an NC40-42 for ref. I felt like it made my complexion stand out and is def something I can carry off with ease. It wont make me conscious of wearing a dark color and at the same time it makes an assertive statement. Yes, thats what Im going for- Strong and assertive! I dont have a lip pencil to go with it yet. Need that for sure.

Lip Treatments -eos - Smooth Sphere Organic Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew
shruti899 7/27/2011 8:06:00 PM
Is this some kind of joke? This product is horrible. And for being such a disgusting product, I think its crazy expensive at $4-something. I would give it a biggggg 0 if I could. I would toss this out to a pet as a toy if I were not worried about the poor thing choking on it. It doesnt do anything for the lips. You literally have to smear it like crazy on the lips to even feel any kind of moisture. Its that disgusting! Plus, I think as much as the package design looks cute, it solves no purpose at all. May be Im old fashioned that way- I like to stick to the stick design. Worst ever lip treatment I used. Beats the Nivea lip balm when it comes to zero moisturizing ability.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion
shruti899 7/27/2011 7:56:00 PM
I was looking for a good night time moisturizer to put on before bedtime. I stumbled upon this one at the body shop store. I was looking at their tea tree line of products and found this. I used to have pretty severe acne in my teens but my skin has been getting a lot better in the last few years. Overall, looking at my skin its difficult to say that I went thru a bad acne phase a couple of yrs backs. Current situation of my skin : I get a stray zit here and there usually before my period but it clears up quickly and doesnt leave any marks now. But i have some redness on my cheeks from my previous acne. I have been using this lotion daily for the last 2 weeks and I am beginning to see that my skin is clearing up very nicely. The redness is almost gone. Yay! BUT, I have to say that this lotion is a bit drying to my skin and after the first 2 uses, the skin around my nose flaked out! Ewww... (Although, i dont know if that was because of this lotion or the weather/ me not drinking enough water?). So, i use this at night and then use another layer of a light moisturizer on top of it. Voila! problem solved. I want to see if it is effective in controlling new pimples as well. Yes, it does sting a bit and the smell is a little overbearing but nothing a girl can't handle in her battle against acne. Hahaha

Shampoo -LUSH - Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo
shruti899 7/21/2011 5:49:00 PM
After having lived a quarter century with dirty artificial shampoos and conditioners, I found this gem by accident. Well, not quite by accident. I did my product research and decided to give it a try after all the good reviews. I have to say, that Im totally hooked. I dont think Im ever gonna use anything else unless my hair changes drastically or Ms. Cynthia decides to change her shampoo recipe. :D I have slightly dry but overall normal hair. This shampoo gives me a lovely lovely shine and I use so little. I have had it for 3 months and the bottle is only like 1/5th empty. It doesnt lather up too much, which I think is nice coz they dont use a lot of bad stuff to give all that lather in there. I dont get bothered by the smell at all and I dont think it lingers that much long either. Plus I use the American Cream shampoo by LUSH and it smells lovely. May be too strong, coz a lot of people have asked me where that good smell was from (my perfume/lotion/shampoo?) :D I take this with me if I have to leave home and cannot trust any other shampoo ever. Def. a winner for me. Im going to suggest this to my mom :). ONLY REGRET: wish it did something for my dry ends. Hmmm..may be I need a better conditioner for that?

Shampoo -John Frieda - Root Awakening Strength Restoring Shampoo
shruti899 7/21/2011 5:40:00 PM
FAIL. I have slightly dry (on the ends) but otherwise normal and healthy hair. My hair when left undone after a shampoo tend to take on really nice waves which I use to my advantage a LOT ;). When I go to work after a headwash and no comb touching my hair, I get so many compliments. Restores my faith in the fact that God made us all pretty low maintenance until we messed it all up with stupid complications :D. Anyway, so after I used this shampoo, my waves DIED! Gasp! My hair fell flat on my shoulders with no bounce/life in them at all. It didnt feel soft to the touch at all.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - The Body Shop Lipscuff
shruti899 7/21/2011 5:34:00 PM
This is a nice lip treatment. I always like to keep my lips moisturized with a lip balm, but i still have flaky lower lip from time to time. This exfoliates pretty well and I use it every other day during my nighttime cleansing routine. It left a tingly feeling afterward, which was kind of fun, but only after the first use. Then, the second time I used it, it did its job and I couldnt feel anything afterwards, which I sort if missed. Ha. But my lips look smooth now and I even thought it enhanced the color. My lips now look a nice tone of reddish-pink and my balm makes them look pretty healthy and taken-care-of. Want to try the LUSH scuff now after reading the reviews, considering I LOVE their shampoos.
