Eye Shadow -Tarte - Femme Naturale Eye Palette
shoppingfreak614 12/7/2010 7:42:00 PM
After contemplating and swatching this palette almost excessively at Sephora, I decided to bite the 59 CAD bullet and purchase this palette. Not so much as for the natural ingredients or the claims that Tarte makes as a natural company, more for the blendability of these colors and the mere fact that these colors are right up my alley. It wasn't until I had time to play with them that I realized how much I adore these shadows. All are buttery soft, with the exception of one glittery shadow, which does not fall all over my face. I sweep colors on with the brush provided (double ended paddle brush and crease brush), and it literally stays on all day over a primer. Now this is a claim in which my MAC, UD, NARS and Dior shadows cannot promise, yet Tarte can. After my 12 hour day of not touching up my eyeshadow, my lids still shimmer beautifully with no creasing. It has faded slightly, but significantly less than most of my shadows. I then line my eyes with the liner provided, which tugs a little, but has decent staying power for a pencil liner. One side is a bronze, and the other is a deep purple. The colors are beautifully pigmented, ranging from bronzes, to whites, to dark teals and greens. There are 3 mattes, one glittery, and the rest are shimmer. I would say that these aren't finely milled shimmers, but finely milled enough to reflect light and create an iridescent look. Some of the mattes are on the chalky side, but still feel like butter strangely =.= The packaging is a let-down honestly. The couture-looking zipper flower is cute, but definitely not practical for storage. There is virtually no way for me to store it sideways without taking excess amount of space. While I do like the fact that these are refillable pans, I am skeptical of traveling with this palette with the fear of all these pans crumbling into each other since none are secured in the palette itself. Overall, I enjoy this palette, and would only rebuy because I love the staying power of the shadows.

Blush -NARS - Amour
shoppingfreak614 12/7/2010 7:30:00 PM
Amour to me is a pinky-coral, a tad darker and a tad pinker than orgasm. I personally like it as a warm pink blush, which is dark enough to show up on my NC30 skin yet light enough to not overpower the rest of my makeup. I love applying this blush with a stippling brush, since the pigmentation of this matte blush is amazing. Although, the only reason for a lippie off is the lack of staying power. It stays on for about 4 to 5 hours even with face primer and foundation, but will fade as the day goes on. Love the color, not so much the staying power.

Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Her Blooming Cheek (A Tartan Tale Holiday '10)
shoppingfreak614 12/7/2010 7:27:00 PM
This blush is an absolute standout from MAC blushes! It is a gorgeous fuchsia, but warm enough on my NC30 skin to glow my skin from the within. It is not quite red enough for me to give that "just-came-in-from-the-cold" look, but it is still beautiful to give me a healthy flush to my cheeks. Do apply lightly however, since this "satin" finish may produce clown cheeks. I use a stippling brush and only lightly tap in once or twice, almost as pigmented as NARS blushes! Decent staying power too! One of my favorites for the winter for sure :)

Blush -NARS - Torrid
shoppingfreak614 12/7/2010 7:23:00 PM
Oh my torrid, how I love thee. On my NC30 skin, torrid gives me a gorgeous pinkish coral glow. It is more true coral than Orgasm, and a tad darker than DT. One of my favorite blushes for the spring/summer, but also can work all year round to brighten up skin tones :) There are noticeable shimmers, but not OT glitter where they fall all over your face. The color blends beautifully, but it doesn't seem to last too long on my combo skin, even with primer. One lippie off for the lack of staying power, but love the color!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Woodwinked - veluxe pearl
shoppingfreak614 8/8/2010 8:35:00 PM
Gorgeous bronze-gold with metallic sheen. I absolutely love this all over lid for a brown smokey eye, with tempting in the crease. Love the veluxe pearl texture, super smooth with no fallout. Every warm-tone gal needs this, it is stunning. It can also be used as a crease color with ATG, or naked lunch.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
shoppingfreak614 8/8/2010 8:31:00 PM
I finally gave in to the hype and stalked for this palette. It does not disappoint! It came with 12 gorgeously pigmented UD shadows and a doubled-ended liner (zero and whiskey). All of them are silky smooth, although they do have abit of fallout. What I love about the palette the most is the variety of textures and shades it offers. There is one true matte, and two other "satin" like shadows. Only sidecar and gunmetal has bigger flecks of shimmer, and the rest are perfect textures for me. Although it is a great palette to travel with, and a perfect palette for those who lack neutral shades, I don't think it's worth it to go on ebay for. Ladies with cooler-skintones may not even like it at all, since almost all have a warm undertone. I can see it working for neutral-skintones though. It's hands down my favorite UD palette I own, and way more up my alley than my BOS II. recommand for anyone's first UD eyeshadow purchase! Just don't stress out about not getting it, since UD confirmed that it's not LE. I'm not so sure about if its permanent at Sephora though. Canadian price: $53 + tax

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Coralista
shoppingfreak614 7/30/2009 8:44:00 AM
A generally good product. I adore the cute packagin and the color payoff. But i do not like the fact that it is so powdery, when touched with a brush, there are plenty of fallouts. Despite my love for the product, i would not purchase again. I simply think that there are blushes just as good with a better price. For those debating on purchasing all of Benefit's boxed blushes, I think that they aren't absolutely essential.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Complexion Brush

Amazing brush from ELF. Along with the powder brush, these are my new brush favorites. I love using this for bronzer and blush. Great size for many uses. Would buy again and again. But does have a slight chemical smell when first taken out of packaging.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick - Nude Attitude
shoppingfreak614 6/9/2009 11:42:00 PM
This is a such pretty nude lipstick. I wear it over a glossy lipbalm, and even without a gloss over top, it looks absolutely gorgeous. It has a pretty peach undertone, and on my pigmented lips, one swipe on my lower lip gave me the prettiest nude color that I have ever seen. On my lips, it almost looked lilac under lights, but definitly not in-your-face. I had left it alone at first, thinking that it was way too drying. But it turns out that with the perfect lipbalm under it, it will give you exactly what you want. My favorite nude lipstick. lovee, looove and lovve.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Moisture Extreme
shoppingfreak614 6/4/2009 12:52:00 AM
Another amazing lipstick from Maybelline. I had tried a red lipstick orginally, but it feathered on me terribly. Mind you, i wasnt wearing lipliner and it was really hot at the dance. That turned me off for a while. But after hearing raves on these, i had to try more colors. I now own around 9 colors, some are discontinued and are absolutely beautiful. They are fairly expensive for drugstore lippies in canada, but I had to buy them. They leave no sticky feeling, not gross lipstick feeling. Feels like a lipbalm and gives perfect color. I throw this on every morning for school, and it is so moistursing, they meant it when they said moisture extreme. the colors are semi-matte, which i loveee. I hate those sheer lipsticks that looks amazing in the tube, but on my lips does not show up at all. A lovely color selection as well, ranges from reds, browns, plums, nudes, pinks ,corals and peaches. I adore the feeling on my lips, goes on smooth and has a lovely watermelon scent. Very light and pleasant. One of the best drugstore lippies that i have ever found.

Cleansers -Dove - Beauty Bar - Sensitive Skin
shoppingfreak614 6/4/2009 12:43:00 AM
After buying a big pack in Costco, I was always trying to look for new ways to use this wonderful product. I use one bar for my face, works wonders! cleared my stubborn teenage acne, made my face soft and smooth. Another bar for body wash and shaving cream. I rub this bar all over my legs then shave, my legs love it! The only bar that doesn't break me out. I was alittle skeptical of using a bar soap on my face, but this is so gentle, perfect for my oily/combination sensitative skin. HIGHLY recommanded.

Highlighters -Marcelle - Opus Face Powder - Beige Impressionist
shoppingfreak614 5/20/2009 3:50:00 AM
Now i stumbled upon this at another city while i was traveling, and curiouly bought it after seeing how similar it was to MAC MSFs. The shimmer is not as fine as, say, Refined or more recently released ones, but are similar to older releases. It adds a nice shimmer to my face, i buff it out using a stippling brush, really makes a nice highlight on my asian medium skin. Highly recommanded. Will rebuy if i can find it ever again.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Coconut Body Butter
shoppingfreak614 5/11/2009 3:01:00 AM
Another hit from TBB body butters! i adore the scent and the softness it leaves on my legs. In the morning, i cant get over how soft my legs are. LOL. It is butter-like the first couple time i used it, but it got alot creamier and easier to blend. It spreads like a dream, and my legs just drinks it up! I love the travel size ones. It lasted me 3 month with everyday use and its only the 50ml one. So i think for those who thought this was too expensive or too oily, use little at a time. I love this, but am going to try other scents.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
shoppingfreak614 5/2/2009 2:11:00 AM
Yay for revlon! This foundation was pure amazing. It blended well with a damp sponge, it give me good coverage, it really eliminates the use of concealers. My friends told me that my face looked perfect, like airbrushed. I am loving this, the bottle and smell dont bother me. There are some flaws that im willing to trade for this great foundation. Will buy again for sure. Edit: BLAHH. It totally broke me out. I wish it didn't, because i really liked this. Now its going into the back of my cupboard with other disgarded products. Ladies with sensitive skin beware! i dont even have sensitive skin, yet this broke me out horribly.
