Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface
shinobucat 1/26/2013 2:57:00 PM
I bought this ten months ago and I just realized that I have worn it every single day since I bought it. I haven't touched any of my other blushes! The color is perfect for me (I have pale neutral skin and very dark brown hair). It's very natural and easily build-able. I have somewhat sensitive skin and this has caused no ill effects. Beautiful product! Although I have worn it regularly, there is still so much left in the package! A little really goes a long way. I will definitely buy again, but judging on how long this will last, it will be a long time until I need to. That considered, it is well worth the price tag!

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Perfect Point Plus Eyeliners
shinobucat 1/26/2013 2:48:00 PM
I'm surprised by the bad reviews! I bought this in Midnight Blue and loved it so much that I went back and got the black and dark brown colors as well. This liner makes it extremely easy for me to achieve a nice, thin line, right along my lash line. It's easy to build for a thicker line too. I don't normally touch my eyes during the day, so I don't have any problem with smudging like others have said. I love that it is self sharpening. I will definitely buy this product again!

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - The Egg Bomb
shinobucat 3/12/2011 10:18:00 AM
I have thin, breaking, frizzy, shoulder length hair. After spending a small fortune on various deep conditioners, with unsatisfactory results, I remembered using eggs and mayo in high school and decided to give that a try again. I mixed two egg yolks, 1 generous Tbsp of mayo, a little shy of 1 Tbsp of olive oil, and a 2 Tbsp of honey. I washed my hair with clarifying shampoo then applied the mixture. I covered my hair with plastic, and covered that with a towel, and hung out for twenty minutes or so. I rinsed the mixture out (and I used warm/hot water with no problems). Then I washed with my regular shampoo and conditioner. Like someone else posted, I was a little worried because my hair felt a little sticky. No worries, once my hair was dry I was in love. My hair is smooth, soft, and very shiny. I have very dark brown hair and this made my hair very bright and brought out my natural highlights. I will definitely keep using this!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Fusion
shinobucat 8/21/2010 3:55:00 PM
I usually go for lengthening, non clumping mascaras. I'd been using Cover Girl Last Blast Length before trying this one. The wand is the only complaint I have about this product, and even at that, it's not a big deal. I'm not used to the fat wand, but after a few uses, it didn't bother me as much. I was pleasantly surprised that I actually like this better than my Last Blast Length. I absolutely hate any mascaras that clump. I found this one to go on clump-free, which is surprising for a volume mascara (at least in my experience). I will still use Last Blast Length for days when I want a more natural look. I will definitely repurchase the Last Blast Fusion for when I want a more made-up or dramatic look. I love Cover Girl mascaras and I've liked everything I've tried from the Last Blast line. Also, there are almost always coupons for Cover Girl in my Sunday paper, so the price really can't be beat. UPDATE 05.15.12: Changed rating to 5/5. I've tried a few other brands (both high and low end) and keep coming back to this. It's the only mascara I use now. Love it! And I prefer the fat wand now!

Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Cowgirl Eye Shadow in Buckle Bunny
shinobucat 8/1/2010 1:42:00 PM
It's back! Yes, Benefit did discontinue Buckle Bunny some time ago. They recently came out with a new line of shadows and Buckle Bunny has returned! I only looked at it, I did not purchase (yet) since I've been saving my old one and still have half a pan left. The color and consistency look to be the same as the original. I thought the packaging seemed to be a bit smaller. It retails for $18 at Ulta (I haven't checked elsewhere for it). Buckle Bunny is one of my favorite shadows for everyday wear. When I wear it, I usually wear it alone or with a tiny bit of eyeliner for a daytime look. I have fair skin, v.dark brown hair, and hazel eyes and the color is perfect for me. When my old pan runs out, I will definitely repurchase.

Eye Shadow -LORAC - Eyeshadow in Serenity
shinobucat 7/4/2010 6:29:00 PM
I bought my first tub of Serenity about three years ago. This is hands-down my favorite shadow. I wear it almost daily. It's great along for a subtle look, or layered with other colors for a more intense look. It's perfect for both day and night. This was my first LORAC shadow and since I have purchased other shades. I find LORAC shadows to be highly pigmented, long lasting, and non-creasing. Also, easy to use, sturdy packaging. I will definitely repurchase. This is a great color for me, I have hazel eyes, dark brownish-black hair, and fair skin.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
shinobucat 7/4/2010 6:13:00 PM
I tried the version for sensitive skin. The difference is the sensitive version has "pure screen" and the regular has "helio-plex" for sun protection. Both versions that I saw in the store were SPF 50, not 30. I felt like the lotion was greasy going on. After two weeks of almost daily use, my normally clear skin has broken out with acne. Normally I love Neutrogena products, but this one is a big fat "No" for me. Pros: price, packaging, no offensive smell Cons: too greasy, caused break-outs

Blush -Cover Girl - Simply Ageless
shinobucat 6/4/2010 7:07:00 PM
I, too, am a Bzzz Agent and got to try this for free. I had actually been eyeballing it at the store for a while and was thrilled when I got to try it out for free. I have ivory toned skin & dark hair, this color is perfect for me. The color is buildable so I can use a little for day/work and add more for evening. I am a novice at using cream blush, I've used powder for years. So far I like this, it takes a little practice for beginners like me, but not hard to get the hang of at all. Considering how little I've used with each application, I am expecting this to last a very long time, which makes it a great value for the price. I will most likely repurchase.

Conditioner -Davines - Nounou
shinobucat 11/9/2008 8:18:00 PM
This review is for the Nou Nou pak. I really didn't want to like this. The tub style packaging seemed inconvenient, but it hasn't been to awkward and I figure this way I will definitely be able to get all of the product out. The smell is okay, not great, but not bad. It has olive butter in it and to me, that's exactly what it smells like. I paid $25 for this at my salon. I've been using the Nou Nou pak for about a month as a daily conditioner. Once I week I use it as a mask, leaving it on for an hour or so with my head wrapped. My hair is softer and smoother than it's been in years. I love the Nou Nou pak and will repurchase. Edited to add: More than a year and a half later, this is still a favorite. I'm on my third tub. My hairdresser has commented on the improvement of my hair since I started using the Nou Nou Pak. I wash with the Davines Vitamin C Active shampoo and condition with the Nou Nou Pak every-other-wash. On the days that I don't use this combo, I use the Davines Yogurt & Museli Stress Shampoo & Conditioner. My only gripe is that I wish it was easier to find. The only place I know to purchase it in my town is at my salon.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream (Night)
shinobucat 11/9/2008 8:10:00 PM
I adore this product. I've been using it for about a year and a half. After the first few weeks of use I noticed a significant reduction in my forehead lines and my skin was more "glowy". After a few more weeks, I noticed my acne had ceased. I am terrified that this product is no longer being produced. I've checked a few major retailers where I normally purchase it and they only carry the "intensive" version now. If I find it again, not only will I repurchase it, I will buy out the stock.

Styling Products -Aveda - Air Control hairspray
shinobucat 8/7/2008 11:21:00 PM
I can't say enough good things about this product. Somehow it has amazing hold without leaving my hair stiff or sticky. I live in a humid climate and Air Control seems to really control the adverse effects that the humidity has on my hair. My hair stays straight and frizz free. Even if it didn't do all of these wonderful things, I would probably still buy it because of the amazing scent. I love, love, love the way this smells. I jokingly refer to Air Control as my "hair perfume". This is a definitely repurchase for me, I use it daily.

Treatments -Aveda - Dry Remedy Treatment Masque
shinobucat 8/7/2008 11:14:00 PM
Let me start off by saying that I adore the smell of most Aveda products. That is not the case with the Dry Remedy Treatment Masque. The smell is very strong and flat out stinks. I thought it smelled medicinal or like a urinal cake. My husband thought it smelled like pickles. After I rinsed it out I was still gagging from the smell, so I rewashed and reconditioned it with Shampure. I had only tried a sample tube (thank God) and ended up throwing the rest of the sample in the trash. I will definitely NOT purchase this masque based on the smell alone.

Lipstick -Sephora - Lip Marker - 03 Framboise/Raspberry
shinobucat 12/27/2005 9:42:00 AM
I am very fair skinned and this did not show up at all on me. I tried many, many coats and still no luck. I even tried to make a line on my hand with it-nothing. I think I might have gotten a defected dried up marker. I plan on taking back to Sephora and exchanging it for a new one and seeing if that's the problem. Otherwise, I will stick with the Urban Decay markers, because those actually show up.

Powder -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
shinobucat 10/28/2005 5:09:00 PM
I was very disappointed in this product. I am a very fair skinned brunette and I tried the N1, the color was great, but that is the only thing I liked. I apply my powder with a brush, not with the included sponge, and I still felt like it went on very heavily. I was expecting a finer milled powder from L'Oreal. I normally have very clear, breakout free skin. A few weeks after using this product I began to get terrible breakouts in my T-zone. I am confident that the True Match powder is the culprit because I have not had any other changes in my routine (no other new make up, cleansers, hair products, medications, etc...). I like the packaging though, it was easy to use and easy to keep clean, so I gave it lippies for that. I definitely will not repurchase, as my last purchase is sitting in my garbage can.

Shampoo -Redken - All Soft Shampoo
shinobucat 7/11/2005 9:01:00 AM
I would've loved this shampoo and conditioner. It did make my long, wavy, dry hair soft and silky without weighing it down. But it stinks. It stinks so badly that I cannot continue to use it. Back to the store it goes. I cannot believe the reviews that state that people actually like the smell of this stuff!
