Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation

This is one of the best drugstore foundation I've used (the other one is Revlon Colorstay). Got this when I watched lisaeldrige video. It has a light to medium coverage, blends into skin perfectly and easily and gives a radiant finish. It doesn't settle into pores or fine lines. My skin looked v natural, plumped up but without any oiliness. It provides a decent 7-8 hour wear. Love this foundation! HG. 52 Vanille is perfect for my NC25 skintone.
When the temperature soars to 33 degree celsius (91degree F) and the humidity runs over 80%, this foundation is a lifesaver. I was careful to apply it lightly using a stippling brush (LM skunk brush) and it looked natural, not mask-like or cakey at all. Sand is a perfect match for my NC25 tone. I got my bottle last year so I think it could be the old formula.
This brush picks up and deposit the right amount of colour on my lid. It's soft, yet the brush is firm. The colour applies so easily and the intensity is good. Definite HG.
Cleansers -The Body Shop - cucumber concombre cleansing milk

The fragrance was so overpowering irritated my skin and i had to stop using it. I bought it out of nostalgia and I remembered it as quite a mild runny cleanser. It does an okay job for cleaning off light makeup but somehow the new fragrance and more gelatine-like formula didn't sit well with me. Oh well...
Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Ego - QV Gentle Wash Re-Hydrate

Had an allergy outbreak and anything scented or drying, irritated my skin. Used this for about 2weeks together with QV skin lotion and the skin calmed down dramatically , including the areas affected by eczema. Quite a lifesaver.
Moisturizers -Bobbi Brown - Extra Moisturizing Balm

Great night moisturiser for my dehydrated skin. I wake up to a nicely moisturised face without any oiliness. I use a toner & serum(s) prior and that makes it easier to smoothen it over the face.
It has taken me a while (used about 25% of bottle) to decide that I do like this foundation. Here's the pros & cons: Pros: - I have mature skin and this foundation makes my skin glow and appears younger. I daresay its my closest attempt to achieving Korean stars' complexion. With continuous use, my skin actually looks better. It could be due to the skincare product in the product. I work in an air-conditioned office, and my dehydrated skin didn't have the usual tight feel in the afternoon. - Doesn't settle into my lines & pores. - The colour 'Pale Dune' looks a little light upon application but it 'warms up' immediately and blends in seamlessly with my NC25/20 skintone. - The packaging is classy, the brassy top is a nice touch. Anyway, its fun to own something Tom Ford (yes cheap thrill). Cons: - It steaks upon application and requires a bit of effort to work it in. I use my MUFE HD brush 25N to apply it, give it a few minutes for it to sink in and then use my fingers to pat it in. - The coverage is really light and your skin shows through. I noticed my sun spots when I looked into the mirror during lunch time. - It doesn't seem to dry down and has a 'wet' feel. It just felt weird. (Its okay now, guess my skin adjusted to it.) - Its v expensive. Goodness, its 40% more expensive than the usual high-end department store ones. My most expensive foundation yet. Overall: Although it wasn't love at first sight, I've come to appreciate it. My skin defintely looks glowing and airbrushed without the obviousness of a foundation. It is especially good for tired days.
I was pleasantly surprised by this product. A friend of mine recommended me and I decided to try it. After double cleansing, my skin usually shows a little redness, and this lotion calms them down. It brightens up my skin and my skin feels quite moisturised. My skin looked so fresh, clean and bright (not patched at all), all ready for the serum and moisturiser. I've tried quite a number of toners and this one performs even better than the expensive ones. It has become a regular feature of my daily routine, in the past I don't use toners that regularly.
Sunscreen -Bobbi Brown - Brightening SPF 50 UV Protective Face Base

I have been using this sunscreen almost everyday for the last couple of months (Aug-Dec) and I think there's only about 20% left in the tube. I like this sunscreen very much, it doesn't sting and it absorbs real quick, leaving absolutely no white residue at all. I use a fair amount each time and it does leave a sheen but that's okay because it doesn't affect my foundation (my skin has been quite dehydrated these days). I heard BB reformulated this sunscreen so maybe I'm getting the new one (it says manufactured in Apr 2012). I've already gotten a 2nd bottle. Its pricy though.
I've bought this essence to help even out my skintone as I've been spotting quite a number of new sun spots recently. For some reason, I couldn't take the smell; it just smelled like really strong medicine to me and I just couldn't get used to it. After about 2 weeks, I gave up and decided to use it on my back instead. My back was left with pretty bad patches after many episodes of painful sunburns years back (suntanning was a very in thing then). The esssence did lighten up the discolouration and my back looked more even toned. I'm going to finish it up but its unlikely I'll buy it again (I can still smell it even when its back there :/ ). For heavy discolouration, the essence did do a good job.
The size is perfect and so far, its best gel eyeliner brush for me
I have very short and sparse eyelashes so I'm really sceptical if this will work on me. But I decided to give it a go, since they can't get any shorter. Nothing happened in the first 4 weeks except my lashes seemed stronger and there's v few fall out (touch wood!). To tell you the truth its quite a bane to keep using it while the lashes remained stubbornly short. So I was a bit inconsistent. On the 6th week, I thought my lashes looked longer and thicker. Now on the 8th week, I'm very happy to say my lashes are indeed longer. Hurray! They are not lasciviously long mind you but for me, it is truly truly truly AMAZING. I will definitely continue using it. From a bane in my nighttime routine, it has become an essential, definitely a HG. A definite MUST-TRY! (Do do skin-test first though)
Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum

When the SA tried it on my lashes I was really wowed by it. It actually curled my lashes and made them thick (a little clumpy though). However, I can't get the same effect at home. When I put on the product after curling my lashes, my curls waned. I find the finish a little clumpy and I had to remove the excess. My mascara did last the whole day without a single smudge and my lashes did look a little longer. I think the primer protects my lashes as they didn't fall out much since (touch wood!). I do find myself taking the trouble to put it on despite the morining rush so that says something. Its is, however, v expensive. [Edit: I found myself using this primer everyday since I bought it. I do like it v much now because it protects my lashes from falling off and the lashes looks fuller. I've changed it to 4 lippies]
It smudges on me and the bottle dries up quite quickly. Not a good buy for me.
Makeup Brushes -Shu Uemura - Wool Brush #20 (Pony)

This is the best cheek brush I've tried. I just got my second one after the first one lasted me for more than 10 years. I've tried other cheek brushes (RMK, B Brown, MAC) since my first SU brush and in the end, I still went back to this one. The brush picks the right amount of colour and the densely packed brush sweeps the colour evenly on my cheeks. The brush is exquisitely crafted, the pony hair is of high quality and they don't shed. With its nicely lacquered handle, this brush is a pleasure to use. It is, however, insanely expensive (US$70 / S$92). I remembered when i was getting the second brush, the SA asked what's wrong with the first one, I told her it is old but she replied since there's nothing really wrong with it, the brush should be able to last another couple of years!
