Shampoo -Klorane - for colored hair with extract of pomegranate

Wasteful packaging, conditioner needed someone with a WWE set of biceps to be squeezed out, the stuff made my thick hair frizzy, flyaway and a general mess. I won't buy again!!

Foundations -Philosophy - the supernatural airbrush canvas
shellpurr 9/22/2008 8:16:00 AM
This is a really nice mineral foundation. I tried many, from the cheap (Revlon - full of talc) to BE and wasn't impressed at all. I like Philosophy - Easy to match colour, nice radiant effect, doesn't sink into lines, SPF, yey! I get a little shiny in the afternoon, but a quick once over with a paper towel in the bathroom fixes that. I don't like the applicator, but I use it. It's too much product spillage to open the container properly. Next time, I'll decant it into an old powder container.

Great moisturizer. Really does firm! I never buy products twice, and I'm on my fifth bottle of this stuff.

Self Tanners -Garnier - ambre solaire express spray bronzer
shellpurr 4/19/2004 11:43:00 AM
I liked the color this product gave me. It was the difficulty of application that bothered me. I used it a year ago, and got streaks galore, but I knew that was because of my slack application. So, I broke it out again this spring, and this time, applied a light amount, and rubbed it in for ages, and got fabulous color. After doing this twice, i had people asking me if I was going tanning. 4 times, and I look very tanned. So, the bottle is hard to spray upside down, it gets slippery and hard to press the nozzle, and it takes longer than most to apply, but the color may, or may not, be worth it. Also, when applying to areas close to the face, like the chest/shoulders, I felt sick from the alcohol smell that assaults you. Alcohol is the no 1 ingredient after all. Don't apply after shaving - unless you want to feel like you're on fire. This one was hard because usually you're supposed to put on self tanners after shaving/exfoliating. I am on the fence about this one.

Cleansers -Clarins - Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Plant Extracts [DISCONTINUED]

I loved the consistency of this cleanser - so luxurious. I have combination skin, and unfortunately this doesn't prevent breakouts. I will stick to neutrogena pore refining cleanser. Editing because I bought it again and it KILLED my now sensitive skin. I felt like my skin was on fire.

Treatments -Clarins - Beauty Flash Balm

I got this as a sample and am going to buy the real thing. Like others have said, doesn't perform magic, but definite noticeable improvement. Warning - will make your skin red for a few mins after application.

I bought this after debating between it and after party with my hairdresser. The price was scary, but she insisted it was worth it. At first I loved it, but then its consistency changed, and it seperated, so I had to stir it every time I wanted to use it. It leaked on me whenever I travelled, which I do often, and putting it in a bag doesnt really help, because the container is greasy as anything then. I agree its very greasy on your hair, you cant wait to wash it, and no I didnt use too much, and it doesnt really do much for moisture or flyaways, just shine. i have extremely dry coarse hair, with many flyaways. When I bought it my hair was virgin, not dry but flyaways, and very thick. It doesnt work that great on either type. Now i use beyond the zones products, and love their version of after party, 'getting creamed'. If you want shine only, and dont travel, go for it, otherwise, try something else.

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice n' Easy -new formula
shellpurr 7/11/2003 11:46:00 AM
People get sucked in by the "built in highlights"....think about it - its technically impossible! it doesnt mean much, other than the dye doesnt deposit as much color as other ones. So if you have natural streaks, they will stay a tad lighter than the rest. I have used nice n easy in several different shades. Nothing bad, nothing great. A cheap reliable dye. My mum uses it and loves it. If you keep your expectations reasonable, and dont fall for the advertising hype, you should do fine.

Hair -Neutrogena - Clean Replenishing Moisturizing Conditioner

I loved it, I guess I am in the minority. I have fried the life out of my hair going blonde, and this is the only shampoo/conditioner that helped. I have tried dozens and finally found this, I wont be looking further. Makes my usually flyaway dry hair sit straight and virtually frizz free.
