Treatments (Eye) -Philosophy - Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Eye Cream

Unfortunately, I purchased this product without checking the reviews. I found my eye area to be more sensitive (itchier) than usual. Then around the third week of usage... my upper eyes lids began to flake/peel. Needless to say, I stopped using it & have returned the product.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Sweetheart

Another BzzzAgent here... I found this shade so frosty... it was awful.! I didn't wear it long enough to give the formula a chance. The normal store price seems reasonable... and, the packaging/case are nice. Do not detect any scent/fragrance which is a bonus in my opinion. Would be willing to try out a more suitable shade... if I can find one.!

Lips -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Gloss Balm in Grenache

I naturally have pigmented lips... and, find this nude-beige shade somewhat odd on them. Even though, it was one of the colors recommended for my coloring on CG website. I do enjoy the feel of the product on my lips... it's smooth and, leans toward moisturizing. Would like to try this line again... just with another shade.!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Volume Exact [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5

This has received such good reviews, I hate to be the opposite. I found this mascara to be clumpy, even after wiping the brush of excess. I got big clumps of mascara in my lashes every time that I used it. I used a spoolie to remove the excess & clumps, my lashes looked better...not dramatic or anything. I don't feel that it really gave my lashes any volume. I've not had much luck with these new brushes... every one that I've tried has made the mascara clump on my lashes! Unless they switch to a full typed brush, I do not plan to repurchase...

Lip Gloss -Smashbox - Las Palmas
rated 2 of 5
shelleypend 1/26/2007 3:33:00 PM

I received this lipgloss as a free gift, ordered during a "Let's Do Lunch Thursday"...so I'm not going to feel bad about tossing it out. It is described on the Smashbox site as a "shimmery mauve", which it is, more on the borderline of a lavendar mauve. The shade is not super dark, gives my pigmented lips a bit of color. My biggest pet peeve about this gloss is the chunky glitter & the strong chemical scent. I do like the compact tube and that it has a wand applicator. I do not plan to repurchase this gloss & at this point would not recommend it!

Lip Gloss -Smashbox - Lipgloss in Location
rated 3 of 5
shelleypend 1/25/2007 10:26:00 AM

I had purchased this on eBay & I believe that the shade was exclusive to a kit from QVC. I'd describe this shade as a rose mauve, it is not super shimmery but has a slight metallic cast to it. It is a nice YLBB shade. It is not super sticky as some glosses are, it does give your lips a moisturized feel. The tube is compact & has a wand style applicator. One thing that I don't like about this gloss is the slight chemical scent...it does seem to evaporate once applied though. While this is a nice lipgloss, I don't think that I would repurchse it due to the scent & that it takes me forever to use up an entire gloss!

Liquid -Rimmel - Recover illuminating anti-fatigue foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
shelleypend 1/23/2007 11:48:00 AM

I recently purchased this as it was on sale for under $4 & I was looking for something to use on days that I don't feel like using my BE foundation. This will not be that foundation! I purchased this in the shade 100 (ivory), which was the lightest shade and it was not a good match(too beige/dark) for my fair toned skin. The foundation was pretty sheer (no coverage) & not very long lasting. I have sensitive skin and felt a slight tingling/burning after it was applied...it may have been due to the added vitamins C & E. I know that I will not purchase this foundation again, and do plan to return it.

Lipstick -Clinique - Colour Surge Bare Brilliance in Waterviolet
rated 3 of 5
shelleypend 1/20/2007 4:31:00 PM

This is a violet-plum shade that leans on the sheer side. It gives my pigmented lips a hint of color with a glossy look. As with the other Colour Shine Bare Brilliance lipsticks this contains a lot of glitter, I assume to give it the brilliance look. I just find that it is too much glitter on my lips & it seems to wander to areas outside of my mouth. On the plus side, the glitter is not gritty & the lipstick gives your lips a smooth moisturized feel. I received this in a GWP green tube...which is basically the same size as their silver tube lipsticks, just not in the fancy package. I'd recommend trying this lipstick formulation if you are a younger gal (teens/20's) or if glitter does not bug you...otherwise, I'd say to try a different one.

Lipstick -Avon - Glass Reflection in Glossy Pink
rated 3 of 5
shelleypend 1/19/2007 7:19:00 PM

This review is for the Glass Reflection Lipstick in the shade of Glossy Pink. Which is a cool toned medium pink shade, infused with glitter. This shade is a basic MLBG(my lips but glossier!) The lipstick seems moisturizing & soft and the glitter is not gritty but it does tend to linger on the lips after the lipstick has worn off. I like the glossy look the lipstick gives my lips...the glitter factor makes me hesitant to reach for it often. It is just too much glitter for me! These remind me of the L'Oreal Colour Juice Sticks & Clinique's Buttershines, etc... The packaging is not very special, it is a slightly shimmery blue tube that is a little difficult to pull apart. The inner portion is basically the same as the lipsticks mentioned above (L'Oreal, Clinique)...it is the same type of slanted metal barrel. The price was low, as Avon often has sales/special promotions.

Blush -Cover Girl - Classic Color in Natural Glow
rated 5 of 5
shelleypend 1/5/2007 11:03:00 AM

This is one of my favorite blushes to use! And probably the only one that I have ever repurchased! I'm a fair skined gal & this gives a natural blush to my cheeks, it gives you that glow from within look. The shade is a peachy beige with a bit of shimmer...definitely not over the top shimmer as some blushes are! It is a light shade and classified as a 'neutral' that I think would work on either warm or cool toned skin. The color has always remained true on my skin and never turned into a different shade nor turned blotchy, which is a big bonus for me! I can't even remember when I started using this shade, maybe high school, and have returned to it many times! I apply this with a regular sized blush brush as the little brush that comes with it is not the best in the world. It comes in a pretty basic brown square compact that does contain a mirror. The price is reasonable for the amount of product that you get...and you can often catch it on sale. It does have a bit of the Noxema scent but once applied it is not noticable. I plan to repurchase this once I run out & highly recommend giving it a try!

Mascara -Avon - Daring Curves Mascara
rated 3 of 5
shelleypend 1/5/2007 10:49:00 AM

I purchased this in the brown shade while it was on sale, I find that it is a nice mascara. The brush is a little odd to me...I only use the bristle area and find that too much of the product is on the non bristled area, which seems to add too much mascara to my lashes. I don't curl my lashes, which are fairly long & dark, so I'm not sure if this actually curls the lash. It does give them a nice lift and fairly natural look. If you're looking for a dramatic lash look you probably won't be happy with this mascara. I've not had many occasions that it has clumped nor flaked. Overall, I think that this would be a good mascara to try & would recommend it! You can often find it at a low price, as Avon runs a lot of sales!

Toners -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Hydrating Toner Lavender
rated 3 of 5
shelleypend 12/13/2006 9:45:00 AM

This review is for the Hydrating Toner - Lavendar Renewal & Vitality for Sensitive Skin. When I began using this toner I had no problems with it...it seemed like a decent toner, although a bit sticky once applied. I got about half way thru the bottle & could not use it anymore, it seemed to irritate(burning sensation & redness) my skin like crazy. I do have somewhat sensitive skin so I'd not recommend this if you lean towards the same.

Lipstick -American Beauty - Perfectly Lush Moisturizing Lip Tint SPF 15 in Tiger Lily
rated 3 of 5
shelleypend 6/3/2006 4:44:00 PM

This product is described as a moisturizing lip tint...I found it not to be very moisturizing nor much of a lip tint. The MA who helped me mentioned that the shade I picked out had been very popular (Tiger Lily)...it was okay but not what I expected. When looking on the website the swatch appeared more of a mauvey rose but in real life it was more of a super shimmery rosey red. The shimmer seemed to remain on your lips after the shade was off(it was not very long lasting) and I found that it did not apply very evenly. Maybe I had a bad tube or something...I've not seem to have much luck with this line! These put me in mind of a shimmery version of Clinique's Almost Lipsticks...looks similar & in the same style of tube. Probably in part to both being owned by Estee Lauder... I returned this item...and do not plan to repurchase.
