Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Benzamycin topical (Prescription)
shellbaby3 9/27/2010 2:06:00 AM
I used to have bad acne on my forehead and i tried a lot of products but nothing seemed to work for me, so i went to the doctors and he prescribed this to me at first. I started using it and the next couple of days my skin was really irritated, it looked like a had a bad sunburn on my face. So if you have sensitive skin like i do, get benzaclin instead. It's less irritating on your skin and it does the same job. But remember both contain benzoyl peroxide so make sure to moisturize. Oh and Benzamycin is very expensive if you don't have insurance.

I used to have bad acne on my forehead and i tried a lot of products but nothing seemed to work so i went to the doctors and he prescribed this to me. It cleared up most of the acne at first but when i kept using it, it didn't really seem to do anything anymore & i still had breakouts. I used differin with benzaclin (another prescription) and they're both very expensive if you don't have insurance.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Gel

I've bought three of these thinking it would clear my acne but it did absolutely nothing. It says visible results in 8 hours but that's not true. I don't even think it reduced the size of my pimples. Pretty expensive for such a small tube, will not repurchase :(

Masks -Freeman - Facial Peel-Off Mask Cucumber

I really like this product. It didn't get rid of my acne but it didn't make me break out either. My skin feels really soft when i peel off the mask & i like that feeling :) It's a great price, $4 for a big bottle that lasts a pretty long time and it smells nice too. I will buy it again :)

Toners -La Roche Posay - Effaclar Toner Astringent Lotion
shellbaby3 9/20/2010 2:54:00 PM
I went to shoppers drug mart hoping to find a great product to help clear the breakout I was having since none of the stuff I used at home worked. I saw this La Roche-Posay Effaclar kit which came with 5 little bottles of different acne treatments ; a gel 15 mL, Effaclar A.I. 15 mL, this toner 15mL, lotion 5mL, and an anti-redness lotion 5mL. All these bottles we're smaller then my pinky finger for $20. I used this toner on my acne and it didn't help at all. I was disappointed because I thought this would definitely work considering La Roche-Posay is a pretty expensive brand but nooope it didn't. :(

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Spectro AcneCare Deep Pore Vanishing Lotion

This product didn't really do anything to my acne. It contains benzoyl peroxide which is pretty drying to your face if you apply a lot of it on one spot. It's a small 25 mL bottle. I used this on my problem areas and the pimples were smaller in size but they didn't fully go away.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Spectro HydraCare Facial Moisturizer

I've gone through 4 bottles of this moisturizer. The box says that it's non-irritating, non-greasy and non-comedogenic but it doesn't say oil free :( It's not the best moisturizer but I guess I kept buying it because it didn't make me break out, and that's what i'm afraid of when I buy new acne products. It also says " provides long-lasting moisturization to give you healthy-looking skin you can see and feel ." which isn't true. When I used it I felt that it didn't last long on my skin & I had to keep reapplying on my dry areas caused by my acne medication. This is a light moisturizer in a 140 mL bottle that costs around $15. It lasts a long time so that's good :) Overall it's an okay product but if you have dry skin there are better moisturizers out there.

Toners -Clean & Clear - Deep Cleaning Astringent-Sensitive Skin (blue)
shellbaby3 2/15/2010 5:20:00 AM
I love it ! I use it with cotton pads and i actually see all the dirt it picked up. I use it after i'm working out so it gets rid of all the oil and makes my skin feel fresh. I noticed it cleared up my acne as well which is a major plus. It has alcohol in it which does dry out your face but so far my face is fine. I wouldn't say the price is that bad for the amount you get. I've gone through 2 of these bottles so far, and will continue buying more. ** update ** ; I've stopped using this product as part of my face care routine for a year now because it was irritating my skin but I decided to try it again recently. At night I applied it with a cotton pad and the next morning my face was red, dry and I had the worst breakout ever. Never again will I use this.

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Invisible Blemish Treatment
shellbaby3 2/15/2010 5:11:00 AM
Hmm i've gone through 4 of these over the years, until now when i really would do anything to have clear skin. It stings at first but when you keep re applying, nothing happens. I'd say it reduces the size but doesn't help clear up skin. Also it says that it's invisible but you can still see it, like it's clear but when you apply it, the area gets all shiny and you can't put makeup over it, or your makeup and the product itself peels off. I really don't know why I used it, maybe because it never broke me out. But there's better spot treatments out there for sure. The price isn't that cheap for the small tube you get. I will not repurchase :(

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets
shellbaby3 2/15/2010 4:53:00 AM
My nose and my forehead gets so oily and i don't wear liquid foundation, only the powder kind sometimes that gets rid of shine. But these things are amaaaazing ! You could see the oil it takes off , the blue sheet becomes transparent & it leaves your skin looking and feeling fresh. I like the packaging considering it's small and could fit anywhere. However, it's not that cheap. I believe I bought these for around $10 ? But i will definitely keep repurchasing it : )
