Masks -LUSH - Cupcake Mask
rated 3 of 5
shelbyclarke 4/26/2013 7:29:00 PM

One of the best smelling masks I've ever tried! I'm not usually into "bakery" type smells, but this one smells really unique and delicious. Would I buy this product again? I wish there was a "Maybe" option because I'm on the fence. Using the mask was a pleasant experience, but I don't think it worked wonders on my skin. For blemishes I think Mask of Magnaminty works better.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Ro's Argan Body Conditioner
rated 2 of 5
shelbyclarke 4/26/2013 7:25:00 PM

I received a sample of this with an order. It's possible my sample was expired because it smelled nothing like described. It smelled like raisins to me and I had my sister smell me after I used it and she said I smelled like booze! Nothing like rose at all! It was very moisturizing, there was no need for lotion after and the smell lasted a couple hours so if you like the scent, that would be a good thing...for me it wasn't. But I'm going to look into LUSH's other shower smoothies because I like the product, just maybe not this particular one.

Treatments -LUSH - Grease Lightning Spot Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
shelbyclarke 4/26/2013 7:17:00 PM

This is a decent spot treatment. I love that it's clear, I hate having white or green spots on my face that flake off and look terrible! It smells good, too. But what it's really great for is reducing inflammation of a blemish. I've put this on very "angry" spots and within minutes the redness, heat, and size goes down. The packaging is flawed, one full pump is usually too much product for my face (I've only got 1 or 2 problem areas that need it) so I try to press down really slowly to prevent so much from coming out. It's not a miracle worker though, it works about as well as most other spot treatments I've used but it does have some "pros" worth considering.

Moisturizers -LUSH - Enzymion
rated 4 of 5
shelbyclarke 4/25/2013 2:55:00 AM

This is a great light moisturizer! I have oily/acne-prone skin and I use this in the morning, it doubles as a moisturizer and a makeup base for me (I've stopped using primer now that I've discovered Enzymion, it works that well). For this reason, I believe the price is totally justified. Smells really good, fruity, and sinks in quickly. This would be a 5 star product except for one thing, it might have just been my pot, but there were some bits in the pot, kind of looked like ingredients that hadn't been totally blended together. This could have been a fluke but I don't know since I've only purchased it once. Would buy again though!

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Dream Cream
rated 5 of 5
shelbyclarke 1/12/2013 6:15:00 PM

AMAZING! Dream Cream is a very basic smelling lotion, nice & a bit herbal-y. I know people that don't like it but for me, I enjoy a simple lotion that isn't weighed down with a ton of fragrance especially for post-showers. This product does not sting or irritate my legs after shaving, which is great. I also suffer from KP on my upper arms and this is reduced the appearance of bumps & redness! I usually apply this lotion while I'm still wet from a shower so it spreads thinly & easily. I bought my first large tub in the beginning of November and it's about half gone now (mid January) but I've been conservative with my usage because it's so pricy. If I used it as much as I WANTED to, it'd be gone by now. So expensive, yes. Worth it? Also yes.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Phoenix rising bath bomb
rated 3 of 5
shelbyclarke 1/12/2013 6:09:00 PM

The reason I bought Phoenix Rising was because of how it looked. Kind of like the bath bomb Dumbledore would choose! :P Dark purple with a dusting of gold, it was just pretty to look at. However I will not repurchase. The smell is cinnamon-y sweet. It was near Christmas when I bought it so I thought it'd be perfect for a holiday bath. It was a simple dissolving experience, no pops or surprises inside except for a small cinnamon stick which is fine with me, sometimes you want a simpler bomb but the outward appearance made me think there would be more to it. It turned the water a dark purple but not like a true purple...more like the color of beets. It smelled really nice and made the water incredibly soft. I really enjoyed the bathing experience with this bomb. However, after I got out and put on my pajamas I felt itchy. There was no redness or rash of any kind but I just noticed I kept scratching my legs and arms. I hadn't used any other new products besides that one so unfortunately I have to assume that is what caused the itching. And for this reason, I will not repurchase.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Twilight Bath Bomb
rated 5 of 5
shelbyclarke 1/12/2013 6:01:00 PM

This is the best bath bomb I have tried. I am a huge fan of the Twilight scent so I had to get the bomb after trying the shower gel. While dissolving, you have distinct pink and blue swirls which are super pretty and fun (which isn't that main appeal of a LUSH bomb?!). The smell is amazing, lavender & malt. It makes the water super soft, I stayed in until the water got cold. This is a bomb I can see myself buying again and again.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Twilight
rated 5 of 5
shelbyclarke 1/12/2013 5:57:00 PM

This is my favorite LUSH product. I bought a 250g bottle and loved it so much I bought a 500g bottle too! Bottle is just a classic LUSH shower gel bottle, no complaints there. The gel is a dark, pretty purple with fine silver glitter. The glitter does not stay on your skin (which I like). Lathers well even though it is a thinner consistency. The best thing about this shower gel is the smell. Lavender, but not "old lady-ish" at ALL. It's relaxing, sexy, delicious. It has a sweetness, but isn't overwhelming (I'm not into "Pink Sugar" type scents) It's perfect! I only wish I could have received the LE scent to go with it!

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - HOOLA
rated 5 of 5
shelbyclarke 11/20/2012 1:32:00 AM

I love this bronzer! Pros -Perfect color for me, not too orange-y! -Soft -Lasts a very long time (I've had it for a year using almost every day and it doesn't even look like I've used it!) -Matte (which I like, because I can contour with it) -Durable & cute packaging Cons -Having to take off the lid every time is a little annoying, I wish it were a flip top I would recommend this to anyone looking for their perfect bronzer.

Foundations -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One
rated 1 of 5
shelbyclarke 11/20/2012 1:29:00 AM

This is the first bb cream I've tried and it was NOT for me. I have oily skin but I figured because it's winter now it would be okay but it definitely was not. Pros -Packaging is good and portable -Has SPF -Applies really nicely, the perfect amount of coverage I was looking for, just needed a little extra concealer under the eyes. Cons -Very limited color range and runs orange -Makes me oily within the hour -Using a primer helps with oil control but if I were going to apply a primer I could just as easily apply my regular foundation! -Broke me out...my skin had been improving a lot thanks to various factors but after three days of using this I have 2 cystic acne spots and a whitehead (I NEVER get whiteheads!) If you have dry, warm toned skin, this would probably work for you. Otherwise, steer clear. My friend with combo skin had the same issue as me. I'll be looking elsewhere.

Lip Gloss -MAC - CremeSheen Over Indulgence
rated 4 of 5
shelbyclarke 12/12/2011 4:33:00 AM

Best lipgloss I've ever bought! It's smooth, smells great, lasts long, and it's pigmented. I use it every day, it's a great color for Fall. I took off a lippie because it is pretty expensive for a small-ish tube and I can see myself running out soon. I can't wait to try out more colors.

Palettes -TheBalm - Balmbini
rated 5 of 5
shelbyclarke 12/12/2011 4:30:00 AM

I got this palette with a giftcard. It's a great introduction to theBalm, it got me completely hooked on that brand! 2 good-size blushes in universally flattering colors, 2 very pigmented shadows, the best highlighter I've ever used, and two lip products which are protected from the rest of the palette by the simple, yet genius design. The clear gloss is nothing special but the rest of the palette is incredible! I wouldn't buy this again, only because I want to buy the full-size versions of everything!

Blush -TheBalm - Down Boy
rated 5 of 5
shelbyclarke 12/12/2011 4:27:00 AM

I had never gone for a true pink blush before because I was worried it wouldn't look good on my skin but this is great! I think it would look good on both warm and cool tones. I use this blush when I didn't get enough sleep or just need my face to look a bit more "alive". Completely matte, it looks natural, and lasts all day. I got this in the Balmbini palette but when it runs out I'll be buying a full size!

Blush -TheBalm - Hot Mama

Perfect summer/spring blush! Shimmery but not glittery, great color pay off, you only need a little and it's easy to layer. I got this in the Balmbini palette and when it runs out I will definitely buy the full size version.

Highlighters -TheBalm - Mary-Lou Manizer
rated 5 of 5
shelbyclarke 12/12/2011 4:22:00 AM

Great highlighter! Warm, fine-milled shimmer. I use down the bridge of my nose and tops of my cheekbones. Much superior to the last highlighter I used, High Beam by Benefit. I like this one because it's powder which is better for my oily skin.
