Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin

Not sure about this one. I'm not a fan of the foundation-y feeling on my face and Naked Skin definitely feels, well, like naked skin. It's very lightweight and doesn't feel sticky even after a long day. My combination skin can get very oily sometimes but I can wear Naked Skin even without powder, which is fab! On the other hand, it doesn't give an awful lot of coverage, medium light at best if you layer it, so with lightweight feel comes light coverage. I like my foundation natural-looking so this is fine for me, but if you're looking for more coverage you might want to try something else. I'm shade 1.0 which matches my pale-but-not-super-pale skin well, and the foundation is quick and easy to apply (I prefer to use fingers) so it's good for busy mornings when I just want to put something on before heading out. The biggest problem is, if I wear this for 3+ days in a row my skin gets really upset. I start breaking out and I get annoying dry patches around my nose and forehead, and I don't know what else could cause it except this foundation. It's a shame because I like Naked Skin and could use it everyday if my skin didn't start acting up. But if used a couple of times per week it's fine - it's just a bit pricey considering I can't wear it very often. Bottom line - in regular use my skin really starts disapproving of this stuff, but the texture is nice and the colour is a good match for my skin. Shame about the price.

Polishes -Barry M - Pink Flamingo

I have good and bad things to say about this polish. Mainly good, though, I have quite a collection of Barry M nail varnishes and I've liked every single one of them. Starting with the positive - it's cheap (£2.99 I think), cruelty-free and lasts longer on me than OPI or Essie or other more expensive brands. I don't know how it's possible, but Essie nail polish chips on my nails in one day and OPI lasts three days tops, but with most Barry M polishes I can go for five days before any noticeable chipping. Which is just amazing. So thumbs up for those! Also, the colour is bright and summery and alway makes me happy. I think it's one of those shades that fits almost any skin colour, which is a definite plus too! On the less positive side, this wasn't very opaque - it took three coats to cover visible nail line and streakiness and I would prefer a two-coater as I can't be bothered to spend hours working on my nail polish, but I guess if you apply thicker coats you could get away with just two. Secondly, the colour was a bit too bright and Barbie for my liking - I love the coral-y pink-y shade o it but in some lights it's almost neon which is a bit too much for me. It would have been perfect had it been just a tiny bit more muted but that's just a personal preference, so. Four lippies because I really like it a lot but it's not 100% perfect for me :)

Palettes -Urban Decay - Smoked

This is the only palette I'm currently using, I think that says a lot. The colours are perfect for really neutral daytime looks, and really dramatic night time looks so I couldn't be happier with the selection of eyeshadow colours and textures in this palette. All eyeshadows are pigmented (the two lightest mattes slightly less so), soft, easy to apply and blend and stay on well. I find that Mushroom sometimes creases even with UDPP, but then I have very very oily lids. I'd say my favourite shades are Rockstar and Backdoor but I do like and wear them all lots. As for the other things that come with the palette - I used to have problems with Perversion but now that I've learned to work it better it's really great. (Contact lense wearers beware, though!!) I would have preferred if the palette came without the eyeliner though, because I already owned it and didn't necessarily need another one. It IS very black and smooth and stays on reasonably well, but it's nothing mind-blowingly awesome in my opinion. Primer Potion is a staple in my makeup bag so I didn't mind getting a small tube of that, and I absolutely LOVE the look book. It's so great for getting inspiration and tips on how to use the colours in this palette. All in all, as I use this palette almost every time I need eyeshadows, it was definitely worth buying and I've been very happy with it.

Mascara -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaVolume Thickening Mascara

My HG mascara (kind of embarrassing, but I just love this stuff). My lashes are already quite long and curly and thick-ish, and this mascara suits them perfectly. It's quite runny but not too much and it does dry quite quickly once applied. The brush is very nice and doesn't make my eyelashes clumpy or "spider-y" like many brushes do. This is also a very versatile product, if you only apply a little bit it gives a nice natural finish, but it can also be built up to make your lashes lovely and massive. Loooove this product, unless WnW change the formula or discontinue the product I don't think I'll ever use any other mascara :D Dont fix it if it ain't broken.

Such a shame about this product, it's sooo very soft and black and easy to apply and potentially awesome, BUT. It smudges like crazy (I've tried everything - with primer, without primer, setting it with powder eyeshadow etc, nothing works) and it totally ruined my contact lenses. The liner didn't stick to my waterline but it did stick to my contacts so well it was impossible to get it off :( I would love to wear this liner but it just does not work for me at all. And I suppose it's worth mentioning I haven't had the same problems with other UD 24/7 liners or any other brands I've tried.

Lip Treatments -MAC - Prep + Prime Lip

I can't believe I wasted my money on this. It's like an ordinary, waxy lip balm, nothing more. Yes, it smells nice and feels smooth on my lips, but there's just no reason I'd want to pay this much for a nice smelling lip balm. The packaging is flimsy and broke in about two days so it's a little difficult to get the product out. I like to keep this at the bottom of my drawer because I never need it and seeing it just makes me feel bad about the money I wasted.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

When I first started using this eyeliner, everything was happiness and kittens and rainbows. The pigmentation was good (I have it in black) it was super easy to apply and it lasted all day on my oily eyelids, even without primer. The packaging is nice and sturdy and the tip of the pen is just right, not too soft or hard, or too thin or thick. I loved, loved, loved this product. Then, after about two or three weeks - and I hadn't used it more than ten times - it dried. It just completely dried up and nothing would come out anymore. I tried keeping it upside down, I tried crying a little, but no. If I rub it against the palm of my hand for ten minutes I might get a greyish stain but that's all. I am so, so disappointed. And I don't think I can be bothered to buy another one since this seems to be a very common problem. A huge disappointment :(
