Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Light Brightening Eye Roll-On
sharybee 8/11/2012 4:13:00 AM
Yes, this is my third tube I've bought since I tried it when I first came out. So guess what? Love it. Actually I stopped using it for awhile coz I wanted to try other products. Oh yes, forgot to mention, I have quite bad undereye circles. Obviously the other products I tried were not doing anything to combat those bad boys. Products were basically just eyecreams. Then I decided to try this again and wallah! The dark circles just disappeared. No, no, that's not true, they didn't disappear but it reduced the dark circles tremendously. And on some good days, I don't see the circles at all. So, maybe HG but I've been hearing that the Clinique version of this was really good and will be trying that next. Will keep you posted.
Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics - "Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow
sharybee 8/11/2012 3:52:00 AM
I think I have finally found my HG foundation. I have been using this foundation for the past 4 months and thus far I have absolutely no complains. In the past, I would find a foundation which I thought was HG but usually after maybe about a month, I would find something wrong with it. Usually it's because it oxidizes on me. This one has not. And when I switch to a different foundation, I immediately switch back to this one the very next day because I my skin just loves it. So, a little about my skin type. I have combination oily skin which is dehydrated. Yah! The oxygen wow basically controls the oils where I'm a slick and hydrates where I'm a desert. It's medium in coverage and light in feel but remember a little goes a long way. It gives natural finish i.e. a little dewy yet matte. Go figure. My fav foundation before this was the Estée Lauder double wear light. Its like the light but 10x better. And the best part is, it doesn't oxidize a single bit. Yeah for Oxygen Wow. Oh by the way, I am in champaign and it's the perfect shade for my yellow undertone skin.
Masks -Kiehls - Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque
sharybee 6/11/2011 12:26:00 PM
I have used quite a number of clay mask before and this to me beats them all hands down. The clay is light but it's buildable. There are days when my skin feels a little more congested then usual so I would pile this on on those days. I feel that it does remove the impurities and I have to say that my face has never been so blackhead free. I use to go for facials every month without fail but ever since started using this masque, I don't really feel the need to go so often as my skin doesn't feel congested like it use to. People complain about the burning sensation when using the masque but I like it coz I know it's working, its doing something to my skin that's making it sweeky clean. Heart. *update* More then a year later. Still loving it.
Treatments -Kiehls - Midnight Recovery Concentrate
sharybee 6/11/2011 12:04:00 PM
So before I started using the midnight recovery, my skin was going through a bad spell, acne mainly on my lower part of my cheeks. It finally came to an end after a six months of agony leaving my face with scars and hyper pigmentation. Because of what I had been using to combat the acne, it left those areas of my face dry and flaky. The day I started using the midnight recovery concentrate was the day my skin started to recover. And the best part was that it only took two drops of this miracle oil to hydrate my skin back to perfection. I still use two or sometimes three drops of the oil on a daily basis but from the looks of things, this bottle is going to last me till the rest of the year. Loves it. By the way, just to let you know I have combination oily skin and this works perfectly fine for me. It hydrates my skin but does not make it oily at all. Loves it... *update* after over a year, still loving it
Treatments -Kiehls - Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate
sharybee 6/11/2011 5:02:00 AM
I have been using this together with the midnight recovery concentrate and the olay regenerist night firming cream and I have to say, my skin has never looked better. My skin has never looked brighter and smoother and I know for a fact that this powerful strength concentrate makes it so. I had a spill of really a bad breakout leaving behind scars and tones of hyper pigmentation marks. Within one week of using this serum I could see a remarkable difference in the condition of my skin. The scars were no longer visible and the hyper pigmentations were getting lighter. I cannot attribute this great improvement to any other product except to this serum. Will keep using this until I discover something more "powerful". p.s. I have just started using kiehl's products and with the exception of their sunscreen, thus far am discovering most of the products I have purchased have not disappointed me one bit. Will be posting more reviews on what I have tried and loving so far. *update* found something better so didn't get a new bottle when I was done with this one.
Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - The Porefessional
sharybee 6/11/2011 4:21:00 AM
Before I was even half way done with my first tube, I immediately bought two more as back up. That's how much I am loving this. Use it after my sunscreen, namely on the apples of my checks, my forehead and my chin where the oils are mostly prone to come out and it just instantly mattifies those areas. It makes the skin not only feel smooth but looks flawless as well. I wouldn't say it completely stops the oils but it definitely helps keep it at bay for a good four five hours. For now, this is a must in my everyday routine which is moisturizer, diorsnow sunscreen, skindinavia no more shine, benefit porefessional and finally my new love, diorskin nude natural glow fresh powder. This will be a staple until something even more brilliant comes along.
Sunscreen -Christian Dior - Diorsnow White Reveal UV Shield SPF 50 PA +++
sharybee 6/11/2011 4:07:00 AM
HG sunscreen! I have been searching for a sunscreen that doesn't give me that white cast and most importantly that doesn't make my skin oily. And guess what, this doesn't do either of the above. Most sunscreens I have tried will somehow always leave my skin looking oily and oxidized. Hate that! I am currently using the Translucent formula and am loving it. It glides on easily and absorbs quickly while keeping my skin looking fresh and natural. Will try the Pearly formula next. See how that one fairs. p.s. Tried the Diorsnow BB Cream from the same line. Hated it. Left my skin looking oily and oxidized.
Powder -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Fresh Glow Makeup
sharybee 6/11/2011 3:50:00 AM
OMG! I think I have just found my HG powder. I have combination oily skin which tends to oxidize most foundation and powders I put on. However, this one doesn't and the best part of it, it controls my oils as well and I can testify that the powder works exactly like how they describe it to be i.e. it keeps your skin matte yet radiant all at the same time. Love love and double love...
Foundations -Clarins - Instant Smooth Foundation (mousse)
sharybee 9/21/2010 6:30:00 AM
Two words... LOVE IT! I have combination skin with open pores living in humid subtropical climate. Not a very good combination to have but voila it works. I have been using this for the past month and would like to declare that it has become my new HG foundation. I am using the lightest shade on 00 and even though I am not the fairest maiden in the land but it suits me just fine. It helps balance my skin tone seeing that my face is darker then my neck. I won't say the pores totally disappeared but it actually made my skin looked close to flawless. The oils are in control and of course what gave it the gold star was the fact that it didn't oxidize on it. Two thumbs up and 5 lippies.
Treatments -Clinique - Turnaround Concentrate [DISCONTINUED]
sharybee 11/25/2009 11:38:00 AM
The Clinique Turnaround Concentrate... absolutely fabulous. My skin has never looked better. I have been using it for almost two months now and I can see a drastic difference in the texture of my skin. I started seeing the difference just within the first two weeks of using it. Not only has the texture improved making it smoother but it has also helped in balancing it out i.e. not oily yet not drying as well. I use to have really oily skin but ever since I started using the Turnaround Concentrate the oils have just disappeared, well almost. I still do get oily in the T-zone especially the forehead but at least it’s not an oil slick. I can go without blotting as the oils just make me look dewy and not yucky. I use it together with the Clinique Derma White Lab Bright Fortifying Complex which helps with evening out my skin tone. These two combined overall makes my skin a happy one.
Like everybody else, I have been looking for the perfect foundation and I think I've found it. I have tried the MUFE Mat Velvet +, Revlon Colorstay, Mac Mineralize Loose Foundation, etc. and I wasn't completely happy with them. I have combination oily skin and it’s prone to oxidize any foundation I put on, turning my skin orangy or making it look too cakey. Yucks! I've also had problems finding the right color to match my face to my neck as my face is a shade darker then my neck. With the Studio Sculpt I managed to find the perfect match in NC20 (a little goes a long way) and it doesn't oxidize, maybe a little but at least it doesn't turn orange. I use it on top of the L'Occitane Velvet Face Fluid and either the Clinique SPF 40 City Block or the Prep & Prime SPF 50. I finish off with either the Prep & Prime Transparent Powder or the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Medium. But the true secret to set everything in nicely is to use the palm of your hands and pat it down. Love it! Love love love it! It leaves my skin looking slightly dewy (which I like) and flawless.
Firstly, I would like to say that I really wanted to love this product as it had all the things I was looking for in one product that is if such a product existed; a moisturize, a foundation, a sunblock and bonus points, anti aging properties and ta daa… there it was. Unfortunately, it broke me out right from day one. Not only did it break me out but it itched as well. I used it consecutively for 5 days thinking it might be something else that was irritating my skin. I even changed the combination of my skin care routine but nothing worked. So I stopped on the 6th day and my skin showed a drastic improvement. No more new breakouts, no more itching, no more blotchiness. Everything’s healing nicely now. Sigh…
