Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Personnel #22
rated 4 of 5

I don't have the 22 colour but I do have the 25 which I bought for 9€. It's a great lipstick : ruby red, creamy finish, perfectly buildable, feels light, moisturizing on my very dry lips, super smooth application plus it looks very natural yet it's a deep red colour ! It doesn't look clownish at all. The packaging's a bit.... voluminous but it's sleek and faithful to YSL's style. However, I heard the price is almost 30 bucks which I think is a bit outrageous for a lipstick - I probably wouldn't have invested that much money (being a young girl entering university) in it. Overall, it's one of my favourite lipsticks.

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeshadow

If you like shimmery eyeshadows, those are really great eyeshadows and SO CHEAP ! With or without base, they have great pigmentation, blendability. With a base (I use Urban Decay's), they also have great staying power. They are 4 € in France and really worth it, as loose e/s usually last forever - you only need a little, but be sure to apply them wet. I haven't experienced any fallout from the shadows but they are very shimmery, so if you do not like shimmer, glitter, sparkle etc. I would not recommend those eyeshadows.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 4 of 5
sharonaemy 4/26/2009 5:19:00 AM

I bought UDPP yesterday, because everyone was going on and on about how good it was. It is very good - I don't have lots of e/s, just a CS palette in which shadows are, for the most part, chalky and hard to blend. It didn't help with the blendability factor but at least, the shadows were more vibrant (as vibrant as they could be considering they're a bit crappy) and they stuck unaltered from 6.30 pm to 1 am when I washed it off. The packaging's cute but not very practical and I'm pretty sure I'll need to depot it eventually to get as much product out as I can. It's a great base, worth the 16€ I paid for.

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
rated 4 of 5

So far, this is the best drugstore foundation I have ever tried. I bought it today and took the lightest colour I could find : R1 Rose Ivory which turned out to be perfect because it was light ENOUGH ! It had been almost impossible for me to find a d/s foundation that carried shades light enough for my skintone so that's a major plus. It's not the cheapest d/s foundation around, but it's cheap enough (around 14 bucks where I live). It has good medium coverage, doesn't make your pores look bigger. So far, it hasn't broke me out either, it's not scented, does not feel heavy at all - when you touch your skin after applying it, it kind of feels like you've applied powder instead of a liquid. It hasn't oxidized yet either, I hope it'll stay that way.

Liquid -Nivea - Stay Real in 04-Sand
rated 2 of 5
sharonaemy 4/15/2009 12:39:00 PM

I'd say this is an okay foundation. I have tried out other liquid foundations from NIVEA which were better though (Ideal Finish & Beauty Lift, among others...). This foundation is light to medium coverage and the colour range is pretty good for yellow undertones (I'm a neutral) but I did find it quite drying at first then it kind of leaves an oily feel (I have normal skin). I don't recommend it as there are much better stuff in the same brand.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Classic Khol Eyeliner in E30 White
rated 5 of 5

I wanted a white pencil liner and tried every d/s brand out there - could not find ONE that glided on smoothly on my waterline or tearducts. FINALLY I stumbled randomly across Prestige and it was perfect and only 4€. Will buy again. It glides on SO smoothly, and has good staying power.

Bronzers -Guerlain - Terracotta Bronzing powder
rated 4 of 5
sharonaemy 4/9/2009 7:06:00 AM

My skin is quite pale so I don't usually use bronzer but when I get a tan, or good colours on my face, I do use this one in 01. It looks super natural, has very discreet shimmer. The colour does not look too orange or brown on me, but I can only use it when I'm a little to fully tan ; it just looks weird with my pale skin. It is quite expensive (40 €) but it is THE classic bronzing powder + a must-have from Guerlain. It will last you a very long time and the packaging's just lovely.

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle
rated 4 of 5
sharonaemy 3/21/2009 9:08:00 AM

I won't buy this again because I feel like I've got enough product for a LONG, LONG time ! I'm an NC15 and I was afraid, judging by the pictures, that this would look too "bronzey" for me but it is actually quite sheer and works great as a highlighter, or to give you an all -over glow. I wouldn't wear it in, say, winter time, but this will be great for spring and summer, maybe early fall too. It's a good price for all the product you get, IMO. It's not a must-have MSF though, I'm pretty sure that there are more interesting ones out there that I have yet to try. It works way better as an highlighter than the shimmery white you get when you buy an MSF Duo Natural+Shimmer, this is way more more subtle and gives you more of a sheen rather than a sparkly mess.

Blush -MAC - Fun & Games - Hello Kitty [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
sharonaemy 3/14/2009 4:06:00 PM

This is my new favourite blush ! I have really pale skin and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to pull off a peach colour because it might look too orange - needless to say I was WRONG ! This is such a beautiful, natural-looking blush ! It gives you glowing, smooth-looking cheeks. It's so subtle, too, makes you look real healthy. Really, a must-have ! Too bad it's limited edition !

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - heavy metal glitter liner (in general)
rated 4 of 5
sharonaemy 3/12/2009 12:07:00 PM

I got a gold one and a silver one for free and used them both for Mardi Gras and on some nights out - those are great, don't smudge, easy to apply and the glitter doesn't come down on my cheeks so I look like a disco ball.

Highlighters -MAC - strobe liquid
rated 4 of 5
sharonaemy 3/10/2009 10:43:00 AM

It's really great when you want to do a dewy-glowy look without looking like a 12-year-old playing with her momma's makeup - I can't stand looking like a glitter bomb so I really loved the glowy/dewy yet discreet finish of this product mixed with foundation. I don't find it hydrating at all though (mine says strobe liquid lotion hydratante lumineuse) and it tends to give me little bumps on my cheeks if I don't mix it with anything.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Total Face Brush
rated 1 of 5
sharonaemy 3/10/2009 10:32:00 AM

At first, when I bought it, I thought this was perfectly good all-over powder brush. However, I noticed that after using it, it would irritate my normal yet sensitive skin - can you break out from a brush ? IDK, but after that, I bought a standard sephora powder brush and was blown away at how soft it felt compared to the ELF one. Sure, it is dirt cheap but the ELF brush now feels too scratchy for my skin - I literally can't put it to my face anymore. I really don't recommend it - I'm sure there are better just-as-cheap alternatives out there.

Mascara -Bourjois - Coup de Theatre False Lash Illusion - Duo Mascara
rated 4 of 5
sharonaemy 3/10/2009 10:23:00 AM

I really love this mascara. On me, it doesn't clump at all, and looks very natural yet noticeably lengthens my lashes. It has kind of a liquidy texture that is unusual on mascaras but I really love it - especially as lash primers tend to make my lashes so dry, they can't even move. It really makes my eyes much wider - not saying it's as good as wearing false lashes but it is the best d/s mascara I have ever used to date.

Powder -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Duo in Light Medium Natural / Shimmer
rated 3 of 5
sharonaemy 3/10/2009 10:19:00 AM

So, I have about 30% shimmer and the rest is the natural MSF. It's definitely not a bad product but I only use it when I want some glow and mix the natural with the shimmer. The shimmer alone is really hard to work with, it's quite.... "packed together", doesn't blend easily. It's really pure shimmer, works well on the eyes too. However the natural part ALONE doesn't do anything for me. When I put it on, I don't see any difference whatsoever on my skin, yet I'm pretty sure this is the colour for me because I'm a pale person.
