Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
rated 2 of 5

What is the hype with this foundation?. My experience: Texture/Finish is like polythene or plastic film on your skin. I want my skin to look soft focus, natural and clean/fresh. This does neither of them. Gives a weird film on the skin that looks horrible. I wore this for 45 mins in summers.I got out of my car & looked in the mirror - I looked dirty, tired greasy with pores flared up and the color had changed to greasy, muddy, dirty translucent orange, One of the worst foundations I have ever tried. Wasted 40 bucks. Even drugstore foundations look better than this and cost less! I am giving 1 point for packaging and 1 for range of colors

Conditioner -Aussie - Moist Conditioner

I don't think this conditioned my hair like the way the 3 minute miracle by the same brand (aussie) did. Also this has a very dilute consistency, it is not creamy or thick at all. It made my hair frizzy and left it dry. It did not feel like it conditioned my hair at all. My suave hemuctant conditioner is thicker and conditions better than this. I am going to stick to 3 minute miracle deep and Sauve.

Eyeliner -MAC - Buried Treasure Powerpoint

This is such a complex color - a black/brown with subtle olive undertones and little gold shimmer. Wow! how did I go without this eyeliner for so long?. I am glad I got it. If you are tired or bored of jet black plain eyeliners give this one a try. This eyeliner will suit all skin tones and eye colors.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Toasted
rated 4 of 5
sharmilaa 2/3/2012 3:33:00 PM

It is a bronze/rose (pink) color. There is slight shimmer but no glitter in it like some of the other Urban Decay eyeshadows. Very wearable day or night. Can be used by itself as all over lid color or used with other eye shadows This shade is very similar to Mac's e/s Sable. You won't need both as they are similar.

Eyeliner -Laura Mercier - Kohl Pencil in Black Gold

It is bronze/antique gold with a hint of olive. I don't think this has any black in it as the name suggests. But before you spend some 20$ on this eyeliner do try Rimmel London's eyeliner: Spark It Up in color 'Black Gold' 600 which is only for some 5$. I wish I knew I would have saved 15$.

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Spark it Up Eyeliner in Tigers Eye

This eyeliner is a shimmering golden bronze/brown color. Looks wonderful and is pretty cheap about 5$ only. I am going to stack up on these eyeliners they are beautiful and dirt cheap compared to dept store brands. Bought at Target Rimmel counter (for those who want to know where to buy).

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Spark It Up! Gleaming Eye Darkening Liner in Black Gold
rated 5 of 5

Gorgeous! I went to Target and found this gem in the Rimmel counter unfortunately this was a last piece, they were all out of this color. Ironically as the name suggests 'Black Gold' there is no black in it at all!. It is a shimmering deep golden/olive. I really liked it though. I paid 5$ and some cents at Target. Must try if you find it at any Rimmel counter or see if u can find it online. Another color in the same line to check - Tiger's Eye EDIT - THIS IS A DUPE FOR LAURA MERCIER'S EYELINER 'BLACK GOLD' (which is for 20$!)

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Stray Dog Eyeshadow

Another lovely Urban Decay color it is a taupe with subtle mauve undertones light shimmer (lesser than even smog by UD), extreamly wearable by most skintones, versatile for day or night. Great for work, an evening out, party, dinner...... Unlike Satin Taupe this doesnot have any red undertones having said that I like both the colors.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Smog

Beautiful color. Smog is a medium brown/bronze/golden color. It has shimmer to it but definately not over the top like some other Urban decay eyeshadows and significantly much less than Stila Kitten. With a light wash can easily be worn all over the lid at daytime or at night. Looks lovely, it does have significant brown in it with the bronze/gold to make it more wearable & rich. One of my favorite Urban Decay eyeshadow. Also I love these silver metal looking containers with carvings a small glass c-thru in the center. They look lovely on the dresser. I have a beautiful jewelry trinket box in which i keep them along with some decorative colored glass stones thrown around them it looks lovely. Love love these metal boxes it looks ornate (definately better than plastic containers).

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen - Shy Girl
rated 3 of 5

It is a pale milky peach color not bad but the the frost in it makes it look a tad too coral for my liking. May be if it was a different finish it would have looked better. This may look good on younger women. As a 40+ in age I cannot carry this shade very well. Also the texture makes this not very creamy or smooth to apply. Like someone else mentioned maked sure your lips are not flakey or very dry or it may look patchy & the frost may highlight the flakes. Donot like the frost in it at all, looks terrible color is fine though. There are better lipsticks to choose from.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sable Eye Shadow
rated 4 of 5
sharmilaa 1/27/2012 7:57:00 PM

Sable is very wearable color especially for work (I shy away from wearing gold bold or bright eyeshadows at work atleast) Color - Plummy brown with perhaps very slight copper tones. I used this at night for the first time and I did not see much of sheen or shimmer - may be because I used a large fluffier eyeshadow brush instead of a smaller one. Pigmentation - This is not a very pigmented eyeshadow (which I found the case with many mac eyeshadows & blushes). But because it is a plummy red brown you donot want a lot or color or else you would look like someone punched you in the eye. It does look similar to Satin Taupe. If you donot like red toned eyeshadows this is not for you. Also with this shade it makes my eyes set deeper in the socket than popping them out ( I hope that makes sense). Still I I like this eyeshadow as it it rich but yet demure & everyday wearable for any occassion day or night. UPDATE - Just wore this in the morning gorgeous! loving it- exchanged this for patina donot regret it at all.

Conditioner -Suave - Strawberry conditioner

Sauve conditioners work well for me - It is inexpesive, I can use it every other day & I just slather this in huge amounts. For my long dry coarse wavy colored straw like hair conditioning often is more important as it keeps it supple soft & moisturized preventing it from drying. I use this as often as i like. Does the job keeps my hair conditioned & soft. I have tried many others but I keep coming back to sauve conditioners & 3 minute mircale deep (Aussie brand). They are my staple

Scrubs -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Natural Facial Scrub
rated 4 of 5
sharmilaa 1/26/2012 11:46:00 PM

This scrub is OK. It is not harsh like st Ives but still can break you out simply because apricot or walnut powder pits inflame the skin very fast leading to break out explosions. My experience with this product: For my sensitive skin this did not break me out like st ives (see my reveiw for it) but still occasionally it does give me small bumps & acne. Texture - Sand like or feels like very very fine crushed sawdust like texture. It has no apricot pieces or chunks big or small. I think that too much Kaolin in this overpowers the fine crushed powder making it almost diffcult to get any exfoliation. If you use water on your face the powder exfoliator dissapates or dissolves in seconds even befor you can exfoliate well (just use a few drops of water on your fingers little by little & keep exfoliating do not use too much water) This doesnot exfoliate but it is basically for those who want to buff their skin surface very lightly to make them look freshed face or clean. I always keep this as it is gentle compared to st ives at least. No explosive break outs even on my sensitive skin.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
rated 1 of 5
sharmilaa 1/26/2012 11:20:00 PM

STOP USING THIS CRAP! This product is extremely bad for your skin. I have been using this for the past 6 months. Results: Broke me out - 9-13 cystic HUGE red inflammed acne sometimes even more. Progressively as I used more I am breaking out with 6-8 new acne every 1-2 months. (For someone who used to get occasional breakouts once in 6 months). I have checked my skin with a magnifying glass and closely in the sun guess what I have icepick scar,. torn skin & gashes. HOLES IN MY SKIN. To make matters worse the cystics acne have left red scars & spots all over that is going to take a very long time to fade. There are plenty of scrubs in the market look for a good, one apricot pits with such sharp edges is not good for the skin. Look for the ones with plastic beads perhaps or try a sugar scrub that did not break me out. I have stopped using this. I have to heal my face that's going to take a year and half atleast.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam V
rated 2 of 5
sharmilaa 1/26/2012 11:06:00 PM

This lipstick looks so hedious on me simply because the finish on this lipstick is TOO FROSTY/METALLIC LOOKING, YUCK. I have many Mac lustre's but none look like this at all. As for the color it is nothing to write home about. Pink mauve that pulls more mauve than pink on me at least but the frost on this is a killer!. I get embarassed wearing it. On the good note it is for a good cause (Breast Cancer for women) so I did buy for that reason alone. But I donot like wearing this lipstick at all. If you do want to try the Viva Glam V lipgloss as the color and the finish is very nice of it.
