Concealers -Maybelline - Fit Me
shannyn07 4/27/2011 8:24:00 PM
Love it. Bought it as a replacement for my Double Age Rewind Perfector, and not only was it cheaper by $2+, it also comes with a lot more product. It blends really smoothly and wetly; a little goes a long way. But it works wonderfully to conceal my undereye circles. I didn't used to like wand concealers, but I figured out to just dot along my undereye then blend. NC20 fits me really well, too.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
shannyn07 12/31/2010 12:43:00 AM
Between this and Urban Decay's Primer Potion, I prefer this one. I have monolids, so I need primer to keep my liquid eyeliner on, and this does the trick. It makes my liner last throughout the day for the most part. Obviously, it'll smudge eventually, but it beats the primer potion.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
shannyn07 12/31/2010 12:38:00 AM
I got the gift box set that gave me all 4 potions, which I realize now was a bad idea, since I don't even use 2 of them. But on the transparent one: I like it. But Too Faced is much better. I have monolids, so I use eye primer to keep my eye liner on, and this one doesn't have the same hold as my Too Faced has. By the end of the day, the liner had smudged pretty badly, and you could see the white of the primer in my crease. It's not bad, I guess, but I prefer Too Faced Insurance to it.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Ballmania - Premium Lip Balm Spf 20
shannyn07 12/6/2010 12:52:00 AM
My dad gave me a trial tennis ball version, and I fell in love. This moisturizes better than anything I've used, and it tastes deliciously like candy. I put it on at night, b/c I won't mess with it while I sleep. When I wake up, I still taste the candiness, so it's got long wear! And it makes my lips feel so soft. I don't mind the price ($12 for 3-pack): They give a good amount. The only downside to this is that I have to stick my finger in it. But more people need to try this lip balm. Seriously.

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Lemon Drop SPF 15
shannyn07 12/6/2010 12:39:00 AM
I don't really understand the hype. It's fun and the shape useful, but the moisture on my lips doesn't last that long. In fact, this is the last lip balm I go to, even though I love the smell and taste (and that it's more natural!). Perhaps it's just the lemon one, since someone complained about the unique texture. I'd rebuy simply for the handiness of it, and cuz I love lemon haha, but I prefer ballmania's lip balms (they taste like candy and last SO ridiculously long).

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
shannyn07 8/22/2010 4:11:00 PM
I have this in waterproof and glam black, and I love it. WOW does it give a kick to my lashes. It even seems to lengthen them. It might weigh lashes down after awhile, b/c it seemed to droop a little once. But I have an eyelid that pushes my lashes down to brush my undereye anyway, which is why I needed a mascara that didn't smudge. And this one does pretty well--very minimal smudging for me. I love this volumizing, and it's easy to wipe off mistakes while applying and at the end of the day. It's soft and immediately thickens lashes with one coat without clumping. Overall, definitely worth a try.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Waterproof
shannyn07 8/22/2010 3:56:00 PM
I don't understand why this has an Allure award.. It smudges :( esp. compared to my Maybelline's Define A Lash. I found it to be soft and comparatively cheap. I don't remember it clumping too badly, but overall, the extent of the smudging threw me completely off this after the first day. My Asian lashes tend to be pushed down, so I need mascara that won't smudge if it happens to brush my undereye. This is not it.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
shannyn07 8/12/2010 9:21:00 PM
I personally really like this, although I'll admit when I had acne, this sunblock made me feel as though it made it worse. But really, it's smooth and absorbs fast without any oily sheen or feel to it. I was probably a little paranoid, plus, I bought the tinted version of this. It gives me a warm and even tone, and it's amazingly easy to smooth over my face. Fast and easy, with SPF 30 to get me through the day! Oh, and it DOESN'T break me out. :)

Moisturizers -Merlot - Merlot Facial Moisturizer
shannyn07 8/12/2010 9:15:00 PM
I really liked this moisturizer. I heard good things about this, and I'd have to agree. It feels light, and absorbs right into my skin. I tend to use it when I know I'll stay inside though, because the sun lately feels as if SPF 15 (which is what this moisturizer is) won't be enough. The smell is subtle and non-intrusive, plus you need such a small amount to cover your entire face. Also, it doesn't break me out! Always a plus :) *This is more for oily-skinned people, I believe. It's likely too lightweight for dry skin.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Lineur Intense
shannyn07 8/12/2010 9:10:00 PM
I love this eyeliner. I'd never used liquid liner before--at least not properly--but now I'm in love. I mostly have monolids, so to make sure I don't smudge it the way I used to, I let it dry first. It lasts all day, although I do prime with too-faced shadow insurance beforehand. I tend to use thin lines, but if I feel like it, I can just as easily make them thick. It's also easy to wipe off with olive oil at the end of the day :) Simple and fast and lovely! Doesn't hurt to try it.

Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash Waterproof
shannyn07 8/12/2010 8:58:00 PM
This mascara wasn't bad. It was the first time I realized there was such thing as GOOD mascara. On the other hand, I'm discovering such thing as BETTER mascara. This doesn't clump your lashes; the bristles are this rubber material, and they grab onto each lash. It doesn't smudge, either--even if I take a nap--which is really impressive. But I'd like to try more volumizing mascara, as this was the lengthening one. Basically, it darkened my lashes and didn't smudge. I'd just like to try others now :)

It goes on softly, but rather useless, I think. I use it sometimes, but it fades really easily.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
shannyn07 5/3/2009 3:57:00 PM
I got this because it was supposedly similar to Purpose gentle cleanser, but I definitely did not like this as much. I feel like it did absolutely nothing. It doesn't make my skin better or worse really. And the scent in Cetaphil bugs me to no end, I don't know if anyone else experienced that. But the scent was just....very very unappealing. You don't even know my relief when I finally caved and re-bought Purpose. I'm not going back to cetaphil, unfortunately.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer
shannyn07 5/3/2009 3:48:00 PM
This product is the one I'll go back to when I'm not sure if a new moisturizer broke me out, because I know this one doesn't. I'm not sure why it's not working for other people but it doesn't hurt my skin at all. And it works rather well, I wouldn't say amazing. I waited awhile before reviewing, but honestly, I like this moisturizer. I think it helps me stay clear and it's very light so it doesn't feel like it's clogging my pores or anything.

Treatments -RoC - Multi-Correxion Night Treatment
shannyn07 4/15/2009 7:26:00 PM
I decided to get a head-start on my skin with this, and I thought it might help the dark circles as well. All I have to say really is that this made me break out, funny enough. It irritated the heck out of my skin. I went ahead and applied it all over as a moisturizer (it said it could be used this way), but it itched like no other. I realize now retinol sometimes needs to be introduced to skin gradually. The pity is, my roommate thinks I gave the entire thing to her, so I can't just try a little at a time now. But again, it did make me break out, so I don't know if I'd really want to. Plus the price is borderline ridiculous.
