Polishes -Jesse's Girl - High Intensity Nail Color (all shades)
shannon02013 5/12/2011 11:52:00 PM
One of my favorite drug store polishes! So inexpensive and the colors are gorgeous. I love the brush size and the polish dries very quickly. I bought Glee and Spring Break and I definitely plan on going back for more! So happy I picked up these polishes on a whim, they're gorgeous.
Covergirl lashblast was always my favorite drugstore mascara, til I tried this one. It adds so much more volume and doesn't clump. It lasts long- I never notice any transferring or flaking. It looks very natural so it's great for every day, but can be layered to look more dramatic. I don't know how this product doesn't get more hype. I'd definitely recommend you try it out!
I love OPI and $OPI the most when it comes to nail polish, and they're almost all I buy. This polish is the only one i've come across that I dislike. It as streaky even after 3 coats and even with a base, 3 coats, and a top coat, it was chipped an insane amount after even 24 hours. I used this polish the same way I use all their other polishes and this was a huge let down. I do love the color, not worth the hassle!
I really like this lipstick, and I got it on sale for $5. It's a really pretty peach color and it's really pigmented. The only thing I dislike is that it doesn't last as long as a wish it would. It doesn't have a funky smell though, like most drugstore lipsticks do. It has a really nice finish too, matte but not cakey looking. I would recommend this color to anyone, I think it would be flattering on most.
I don't know why this is getting such horrible reviews, I really like this mascara. It is not clumpy at all and goes on really easily. It doesn't have much volume or length, but it's perfect if you're looking for a really natural lash. It also does layer really well too if you want a more dramatic look. I really like the brush on this too, it really gets to ever lash. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a mascara that's easy and quick to use and gives a natural look.
Lipstick -Revlon - Colorstay Soft and Smooth lipstick

I do really like this kind of packaging when purchasing drug store lip sticks because the clear top shows the color much more accurately than the sticker on the bottom. This lip stick has a nice texture and does last pretty well. The reason I took off two lippies is because the smell is SO bad I hardly ever reach for this. Also because it tends to get patchy when I put a gloss over it, no matter what gloss I use. I guess this is okay for the price, I just can't get over the smell.
I really like this gloss. It isn't sticky, it has more of an oil type texture (think the C.O. Bigelow lip oils). It lasts a pretty decent time especially for the price. It's green in the tube but it goes on clear. The only reason I took a lippie off this is because it has a bit of a chemically smell. I'd recommend this to people who don't like sticky glosses and are looking for something inexpensive.
Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eye Shadow Quad - Bright Eyed
shannon02013 7/16/2010 1:38:00 PM
This is the limited edition quad from sephora that is $6. The thing that I didn't like was that the two medium colors on the side were lighter than my nc 15/20 skin tone. I was expecting the one on the left to be a really pretty taupe :( But the middle color is borderline HG highlight so I guess that makes it worth it, and the dark color does look good in the crease. So overall, this is worth $6, but didn't live up my expectations.
Primer/ Corrector -Fyrinnae - Velvet-Gel Silica Primer
shannon02013 7/12/2010 1:08:00 AM
After so many people raved about this being the best primer for oily skin on the makeup board, I had to have it. I've tried so many things to keep my oily skin matte but nothing seems to work, and this wasn't any different. It did help a little bit with oiliness, but not much at all. I had to wait at most 45 minutes later to blot. Also, this foundation didn't actually "prime." I didn't find it any easier to apply my foundation on top that I would if it were just my skin. I was very upset this didn't work for me because I was expecting a holy grail. Oh well, I must go back on the hunt for something to keep my skin matte!
Powder -Physicians Formula - Healthy Wear SPF 50 Powder Foundation
shannon02013 7/12/2010 1:02:00 AM
I am in love with this powder. I got it in translucent light and it feels really light on my skin. Being as pale as I am, I'm attracted to anything with SPF. I can't say how strong the SPF actually is in this because all my products that I wear this with have SPF (moisturizer has spf 30, primer has spf 50, foundation has spf 15, and this has spf 50). I don't get sunburn when wearing what I just mentioned, so it does work cause I burn really easily. This powder has very minimal coverage so I would definitely recommend using at least a tinted moisturizer under it if you want flawless looking skin. I have oily skin and it does help keep it matte, but not as much as a "blot" or "mattifying" powder would. Don't forget though if you are planning on using this as sun screen, you have to reapply every 2 or 3 hours. Oh and I also forgot to mention how much I love this packaging. It is so adorable!
Lip Gloss -New York Color - extreme lip glider lip gloss [DISCONTINUED]
shannon02013 7/1/2010 11:22:00 PM
I really like this lip gloss. I got in big apple red and it is a fantastic color and smells great. I plan on getting more asap! They are not sticky at all and have a good amount of pigmentation for a gloss. I really like the packaging too, it 's a really long skinny tube. It looks great over a lipstick or by itself. The only down side is that it doesn't last that long, but I wasn't expecting much better from a $3 gloss!
Styling Products -Sexy Hair Concepts - Pumpkin Whipped Souffle
shannon02013 6/6/2010 4:27:00 PM
I saw this at TJ Maxx and I'm not gonna lie, I bought it mainly because it smells so great. And between already being on clearance and having an employee discount, it was only $3. I was in need of a styling product to use with braiding, mainly french braiding. It makes it a lot easier, neater, and looks a lot nicer with this. I honestly don't know what else I could use this with because I feel like it would make my hair too greasy if I were to put it in my hair down. When I use this I put it in slightly damp hair, brush it with a wide toothed comb then braid and it works like a charm!
Highlighters -Revlon - Age Defying Spa Illuminator Bare Light
shannon02013 6/2/2010 8:14:00 PM
I have nothing bad to say about this product. It's great. It can be used on its own, under foundation, over foundation, or mixed with foundation. I'm not too fond of the brush applicator, but it's not so bad. You can twist it so it turns on and off so you don't get too much product in the brush, which is nice. This doesn't bring out my pores as much as most illuminators do. I have combination skin and avoid putting this on my t zone (as I would with any other illuminators) because it would just make me look too oily. I use it on my cheeks over foundation and under blush for a nice, glowy look. It's shimmery but not like obvious glitter, just enough to catch the light and make it glow.
Alima shadows are definitely a hit or miss, and this was a hit! This is why I love their samples- they're a great size and are definitely a must before you buy the full size! So go, go order your samples now! $1 each with $2 shipping=great deal.
Lip Treatments -Alba Botanica - Coconut Cream Lip Balm
shannon02013 5/17/2010 11:35:00 PM
I am the queen of lip balm and this is one of my favorites. The scent is just amazing and it feels so good when you put it on. It doesn't stay on that long but it is really moisturizing. I like this one especially to use under lipsticks.
