Cleansers -Bioderma - Sensibio H2O (aka Crealine H20 Solution micellaire)
rated 4 of 5
shannn 3/25/2012 10:15:00 AM

This is my first Micelle Cleanser. Never knew a water-based cleanser can work as well as a oil-based cleanser for removing makeup. Thanks to my HK colleague's recommendation, I bought a bottle and started using it in HK's dry weather. Doesn't dry out my skin at all. Now that I'm back in Singapore's hot and humid weather, the product is still performing well - no breakouts or bumps on my skin and it didn't dry out my skin as well. Will monitor it again for the next couple of weeks, but i'm just happy that my cleansing routine just got simplified. :)

Crème -SKII - facial treatment cream foundation
rated 5 of 5

At the point when I bought this product, my skin was under-going the effects of aging - oily but dehydrated skin. Slightly on the sensitive side. My skin was also subjected to harsh weather conditions due to frequent travelling. As such I was on a lookout for a foundation that will give me the supple finish. It should also do the following: - even out my skin tone and should appear radiant and not greyish. - give me enough coverage and yet still appear "natural" instead of being too made-up - does not appear cakey or flaky (due to my dehydrated skin) This foundation does it all! And I'm not exaggerating. When applying this product, I'm amazed at how little is required. Just a tiny dot is enough to cover one side of the face and it is buildable. It gives a dewy finish but if you preferred a matte look do dust on some loose powder. I have used this product on days when I did not get enough sleep and you know how our skin looks dull and blah? With this product it gives me the radiance and my skin actually feels supple during the day. No one could tell I had a rough night by just looking at my complexion (except when they stare into my eyes - that's a different story). This foundation has "piteria" in it and it's classified as a "treatment" foundation. Regardless, do remove your makeup throughly at the end of the day as afterall it is a cream foundation and you don't want any residue left in your pores. I will also like to point out that besides using this foundation, I am also using the full range of SK-II skincare at the same time as I did a drastic skincare regime makeover to address my aging-skin conditions (Cleanser > Toner > Facial Essence Treatment > RepairC or Cellumination Serum > Deep Surge Moisturiser). So it might be because of the change in my skin regime + use of the foundation that gives me the suppleness and finishing that is desired. Not very impressed with the packaging - wished it came with a pump instead to minimize the number of times the product is exposed to air. Its oil control capabilities is not that great, I have to start blotting mid-day. However for the fact that it can give the natural finishing and coverage that I desired, i'm prepared to let this slide. Last but not least, i don't recommend this to anyone who have very oily skin. This product is more for dry or dehydrated skin.

Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Soft Clean Moisture Rich Foaming Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
shannn 5/26/2009 11:49:00 PM

This came along in a set that I bought during a sale. The set was more for combination, leaning more towards dry skin. Considering that I lived in Singapore (Hot & humid), it is abit too rich for me on normal days. However on days when I had little sleep, or the skin feels very dry, this cleans and moisturizes quite nicely (still leaning abit towards rich side) Recently I went to Korea and took this along. It was Spring, weather was cool and dry. It really cleans my skin and moisturize extremely well! No tight or rich feeling! Conclusion, this is my HG traveling cleanser for dry or winter countries! :)

Treatments -Laneige - Laneige Strawberry Soft Peeling Gel
rated 3 of 5
shannn 5/26/2009 11:19:00 PM

This is one of the many "peeling" products I have tried so far. Amongst other products include Ginvera Marvel Gel, Seize peeling gel (Korean, Samsung brand) and ODO Peeling Gel (New Face Shop product). It's one of the rare products where I have to use more amount to exfoliate the whole face and gain results. The others just a small dollop will do. It does its job well. Unfortunately I think there are others who work just as well and more efficiently (lesser amount). Packaging wise.. It's quite normal looking. Noticed that the wordings on the tube fades off afterwhile. Pricing wise it's affordable, although Ginvera Marvel gal is much cheaper especially if I buy it during the Robinson Sale (in Singapore). Don't think I will repurchase it again.

Treatments (Eye) -Clarins - Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30
rated 5 of 5
shannn 2/21/2008 10:28:00 PM

On first glance, this small bottle looks like an eye cream with SPF. But when I peer deeper, it is actually just a sunscreen with SPF. Have not come across any other similar product yet. As I go under the sun for tanning frequently (plus i'm approaching 30 in a few more years), I thought a sunscreen just for the eyes would do some good in my battle against fine lines (I use a daily eye cream & SK II eye mask on groggy days)! A tiny dot is enough for both eyes. Which is why I think cost per use is really quite reasonable. It gets absorb easily. No oily feeling. No white film. My makeup goes on rather nicely. My lines around the eye bag are also looking less visibly now and my eye area don't look so dry. I like the fact that it is 100% Mineral, cos I have sensitive skin. I also like that it is very light to touch, easy to apply and fast to absorb. Definitely a stayer in my daily regime!

Skincare - Face -Origins - Zero Oil
rated 2 of 5

Is it just me, but I find that not just the packaging sucks, and the product is also very "cheap" looking. Looks like a science experiment emulsion gone wrong. It's ok, but it didn't really control the oil. Only last for a few hours.

One of the best hydrating mask ever! Each time I used this, my skin feels supple and smooth to touch. Smells good too. Great to use after a late night outing or when your skin is thirsty.

Other -Origins - Peace of Mind Sensory Therapy
rated 3 of 5

One thing I adore about this product is its scent. A little like aromatherapy on the go. Non-greasy, it is small enough to put inside the purse and doesn't take up space. The price is a little on the high side though.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Active Moist
rated 4 of 5

I though this is my HG as nothing seems to work for me a couple years back. But now that I have found another suitable moisturizer, this looks pales in comparison.

Scrubs -Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant
rated 5 of 5
shannn 12/23/2007 6:33:00 AM

my best exfoliation ever! Gentle on my sensitive skin, yet alright to use it on daily basis! 1 bottle can last me for 2 years, what a great deal! I usually use it early in the morning for that extra softness.

Cleansers -Dermalogica - Anti-Bac Medicated Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
shannn 12/23/2007 6:30:00 AM

It is good while it last. I used this when my skin was in the delicate state and occasional outburst of acne. Slowly my skin condition stabilized. For 2 months, my skin enjoyed blissful state of good condition, but thereafter I realise that my skin condition starts to reverse to the delicate state condition. When I stop using this cleanser, my skin condition begins to stabilized again.

Cleansers -Paula's Choice - Hydralight One Step Face Cleanser - Normal to Oily/Combination Skin
rated 1 of 5

strangely, this doesn't work for me. It breaks me up, dries up my skin, doesn't clean as well and cleans a oiler film feeling after wash.

Concealers -Kesalan Patharan - Undertone Light Up

a little creamier in texture but it does it's job in concealing dark eye circle. I must remind myself to be light-handed though.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Espresso Ink Long Wear Gel Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
shannn 12/23/2007 6:06:00 AM

1st time using a gel-based eyeliner and it is really easy to apply! As it dries up fast, best to practice with your brush, then apply on the eyeliner. Otherwise you may find yourself with uneven textured eye line.
