I bought this product while doing some shopping out of town - I was in the Allen/McKinney, TX area (there is little to no Milani selection in my town) Picked this up at Wal-Mart on a whim - I needed some new powder and was initially going to make an order from MAC. This powder is great! I love the packaging and the flower design in the powder is cute. The powder has a fresh/clean scent to it which is odd but not noticeable after applied to your face. I grabbed this in 40 Light Tan which is a perfect match for my light-medium skin with more yellow undertones. My skin is ridiculously oily all the time but this seems to hold up well throughout the day with maybe a single touch up. I currently use this over Revlon's Photoready foundation.
I used this when it first came out and I was in high school but I didn't know much about makeup then. I bought it the other day since it was on sale and I have to say I really like it now! I used it with a primer (Monistat anti-chafing gel), applied it with a stippling brush, and set it with ELF's HD powder. I have very oily skin and this lasted throughout my work day with no touchups, no noticeable shininess, and I was left with a very matte airbrushed look. It did not feel heavy on my skin at all, either. I will re-purchase.
Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 - Malt Shake

Truly a "my lips but better" shade. I believe the color you get is true to what you see in the tube. Smooth consistency, not overly sticky. Could do without the awful grape smell, but it won't stop me from repurchasing.
Shampoo -Organix - Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo
shakeyourhips 8/22/2011 10:26:00 PM
I was so excited to see an argan oil product in my local drugstore, and it was on a 2fer sale so I picked a couple bottles up. The only thing this has going for it is the scent. It even lingers on my hair, which I find is rare. This shampoo leaves my hair feeling like straw once I rinse it. I will finish the bottle I'm using, return the other, and never purchase from this brand again. I would advise you all to do the same.
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes

Bought these on a whim. I needed some more makeup removing wipes and remembered Tiffany D on youtube mentioning these. I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. They're a little drier than I'd like, which makes me feel like they aren't as effective. They do leave a more noticeable film or residue on my skin than other makeup wipes I've used, which isn't a huge deal since I normally wash my face afterwards anyway. I'll finish my pack but I don't think I'll repurchase. Guess I'll stick with my tried and true Pond's wipes...
Liquid -Maybelline - SuperStay Makeup - New Version
shakeyourhips 9/18/2010 11:23:00 AM
I was hesitant to buy this, one; because Maybelline's colors are usually a bit off for me, and two; because I read/saw some mixed reviews. That being said, I absolutely love it. I bought Classic Beige and it's a great match. I may even love this foundation more than my ColorStay. It has excellent coverage, has a nice matte finish, blends easily, and I'm in love with the way it makes my skin look. I use a primer, then a light dusting of my NYC loose translucent powder, then apply my foundation with a beautyblender. FLAWLESS.
I feel like a complete idiot for buying this after already trying (and breaking out from) the Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel. I even compared ingredients in the store before I went ahead and purchased this. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I've only used it a few times and already am breaking out. I really wish I could use this because it does make my foundation apply smoothly and I do notice that it minimizes my pores. Oh well, back to the store it goes.
Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Dial - Yogurt Vanilla Honey Nourishing Body Wash

This is one of the only body washes I continually buy. I first got turned onto it by my boyfriend's mother because this is what she was buying when I was living with them. I've been hooked ever since. The smell is heavenly, I really do believe it moisturizes well, and it also seems to be very gentle. I bought a new bottle today for 2.97 at Wal-Mart. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this product!! I've also tried the aloe vera one and it is equally as amazing. Give them a try! Besides, at around $3 you can't really go wrong!
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Sensual Amber Body Splash

Am I the only person that believes this to be a good dupe for Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb? I have never actually worn it, but every time I take a sniff it reminds me of Sensual Amber. I bought this when it first came out and really liked it until I decided it may be too "old" smelling for me (I was about 17-18 at the time), and gave it away. Stupid. I am now 21 and can't wait to buy a new bottle for fall/winter as I have decided it will be one of my signature scents. It is so sexy and delicious. Love it!
Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Monistat - Chafing Relief Powder-Gel

I searched all over my (small) town for this after reading the amazing reviews. Finally I caught it on-stock at Wal-Mart. I don't notice anything outstanding as far as the longevity of my foundation wear goes, but I do like the silky/velvety texture it gives and it makes my foundation apply more smoothly. However, after about a week I noticed cystic breakouts (about the only kind I ever get anymore) on my forehead. This was the only new product I was using so It had to be the culprit. Such a shame, too. I will continue to use it on occasion as a primer and I may even try it out for it's intended purpose. Since it broke me out I don't think I'll repurchase. Luckily, though, this means I don't need to waste my money on Smashbox since I know it will likely break me out as well. EDIT: With continued use this does no longer break me out and I will repurchase.
Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Waterproof
shakeyourhips 7/22/2010 9:22:00 PM
I bought this because I needed a good waterproof mascara for occasions like floating the river, and well, summer in general. First, I bought Rimmel's Sexy Curves Waterproof. I get home and read the reviews on here. Terrible. I didn't even open the package I was so terrified. It was returned the next day. Later, I ended up with a tube of this Great Lash. For a waterproof mascara, it does the job. I would definitely NOT grab this if you're looking for volume or length. It does, however, darken my lashes and with a generous amount of coats doesn't look all that bad. I don't have a problem with clumps at all and I hate the wand, but other than that no complaints. Oh, it's a nightmare to remove when the time comes; be careful not to rip all of your lashes out!
Fragrances -Viktor & Rolf - Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb

I got the new Sephora catalog in the mail the other day and was thrilled to see this as one of samplers. To me it smells EXACTLY like Bath&Body Works Sensual Amber, if only a tad different. Granted, though, I have not smelled the actual perfume, only the little page. I would like to purchase the roll-on (as that is my favorite form of fragrances lately) and wear it in the fall/winter.
Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - PINK with a Splash Fruity & Bright

I am an employee at Bath&Body Works and tonight, while closing and straightening up the shelves, I was cleaning up some spilled lotion in this scent and instantly knew the smell from somewhere else but could not put my finger on where. After I got home and thought about it more, yes!, I knew it! It is my beloved Falling In Love! I am thrilled and will absolutely be buying the spray and lotion. I have been on the hunt for dupes of my HG and very pricey Falling In Love and I think I have finally found it.
Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15
shakeyourhips 4/22/2010 1:04:00 PM
I bought this since I had been using the cleanser for a few weeks with no problem. I've been using this moisturizer for about a week and it has broken me out. I did get a slight/faint burning sensation after applying but nothing uncomfortable. I don't like the smell or this, either. Normally I use the Equate version of Olay Regenerist Serum but I ran out a few months ago and have been too lazy to pick up more and opted to double my primer as a moisturizer. What really sucks is that I can't even return this because I already threw the box away. So, if anyone wants it I have it up for swap.
This is the first ever product I have bought for my brows. Before this I have never filled them in, just plucked them. I first bought this in the light or medium brown, but it was too light and looked a little orange so I picked up the dark brown. Perfect. I don't have a problem with it fading away or anything like that. It looks pretty natural to me (at first I had to get used to my new "look", lol) and is pretty effortless. I hate regular pencils so I'm glad this, like my HG eyeliner, Maybelline Unstoppable, is a self-sharpener. I think I made the right choice with this being my first brow product.
