Lip Gloss -Bobbi Brown - SPF 15 Lip Tint
rated 2 of 5

Reason for the low rating: that tingly, mint-y HOT feeling once I put it on. While other reviewers seem to like this, it makes my lips feel almost painful. Despite waiting for the sensation to go away, it lingers for a good minute and my lips seem to look thicker after. Even when I wipe it off (within the minute) the mint will leave my lips feeling numb. On to the good part: I tried this about 3x as I received a minitube of this. Colour, texture and shine are lovely. (Mine is Blossom) It's a lovely pinkish hue that brightens up my face and the texture is not runny. Shine is a lovely gloss that's not in your face. Sadly, because of that HOT feeling, I don't like this gloss. I wish it came without that minty sensation.

Primer/ Corrector -Clarins - Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch

This product does help to fill in large pores as promised. It is also effective to for the under eye area- to smooth the fine lines. Best method for application I've found is to lightly tap it on your skin. However, would not advise using it on the whole face as it might prove too slippery. Another point to note is that this item is silicone based. If you have issues with silicon clogging pores, please AVOID! I also wish the pot were more hygienic but considering the nature of product, I've no better suggestions. Overall, I do like this product as it helps with my problem areas (pores and under-eye) and considering how much you use each time, lasts a long time!

Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Peony ShimmerBrick Shimmer Brick Compact
rated 5 of 5

This is a great pink, shimmery blush. The colour is so strong that i don't think it's for use as a highlighter. As a blush, the shimmers are lovely but not glittery giving a lovely sheen/glow. The pink is not overly cool for warm toned skin so it's flattering as well. The strips can be use individually but i'm not really into pink eyeshadows so can't comment too much about it. The packaging is solid and you get quite a bit of product for your cash. This product was LE but i would buy it again. It's a fantastic blush on me!

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Blush Brush

This brush handle is alittle too long! That aside, it is soft, does not shed, dense and supple enough to apply blush well and blend it out. Head size and shape is great as well. It's packaged with a plastic cover so it's easy to store but the length pretty much negates bringing it out easily

Makeup Brushes -Shu Uemura - Wool Brush #20 (Pony)

This is THE softest brush i own. While i thought the head was a little too flat at 1st, i've grown to love how it applies so precisely yet no harshly. It's dense enough that i can get good colour from my blush but is able to blend it enough that it looks natural as well. no complaints (besides that the head could be a little less flat) and would re-buy

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 182 Buffer Brush

This brush is fantastic for applying powders. I use it to quickly pick up my loose powder, apply all over face and blend out any areas. It's density and supple-ness are perfect. Picks up powder well and the head size is great for a quick application. only downside is it shed alittle when i 1st got it but after a few uses, it's perfect! No regrets getting it. would repurchase it if ever spoils or i lost it. Update Mar 2010: This brush started shedding like CRAZY after a wash and dry a few months back. It can no longer be used as I get A LOT of hair on my face the moment the brush meets my face. Using my fingers to lightly brush across it will cause 5-10 strands to jut out/come off EACH time. TERRIBLE shedding and somehow, the bristles have also become more scratchy. Rating reduced!

Makeup Brushes -Lumiere - kabuki brush
rated 4 of 5

Helps to apply a light covering of loose powder. Quite a dense brush, soft bristles and does have enough give to blend out the powder. Find it has difficulty reaching small areas. This brush hasn't shed on me yet but the Lumiere Long Handled Kabuki has. Has a lovely soft feel on the face. think it's a good starter kabuki due to the price.

Makeup Brushes -Lumiere - Long Handled Kabuki

Originally bought to be used as a blush brush. However, i found it somewhat too stiff to be able to blend properly. Density was good for less/non-pigmented blushes but i could not get past the lack of blending ability. Still wondering if it's because of the synthetic bristles or density of bristles. Recently, decided to use it to apply my loose powder. Wow! it's smaller head compared to the kabuki makes it far easier to powder areas like undereye, nose etc. coverage looks lighter than sponge but better coverage compared to a powder brush like MAC129se or kabuki. (i usually don't use foundation) Complaint: after the last 2 washes, i found it SHEDS! Hair was coming out from a certain part of the metal part. Have pulled out all the loose hairs to prevent them from poking me and hope it doesn't shed anymore. Nonetheless, a good powder brush

Loose Powders -Paul & Joe - Loose Face Powder - Ambre 03
rated 5 of 5

This powder is finely milled with decent oil control properties. It has some shimmers so it gives a slightly glowy look. It's price is, like most counter brands, slightly high ($41 SGD for the refill, $76 with the case) but for the quality, i find it pretty reasonable. The case is large to fit the powder puff i guess but i find the puff rather unwieldy. The case is not flimsy but looks abit old fashioned. The powder smells ok to me but i'm not really into scents. Anyway the scent goes off the moment the casing is closed so it's not an issue to me. Overall, i have purchased this again for the glowy look it gives me, decent oil control and finely milled powder.
