Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Baby Bees Buttermilk Lotion

I love this lotion. I use this mostly in the summer. I really like the smell, I used to use it on my babies, and now I baby myself with it! I typically use on my legs after every shower, and especially after shaving. Keep in mind its pretty runny, and it is light. (I use heavier creams on my hands, elbows, and knees in the winter.) Even though this is more a body lotion, I've used this on my face while away on vacation and running out of my facial moisturizer; worked great, no breakouts. I do wish they'd put this in a pump. I don't think its all that expensive, as one bottle lasts me a couple of months.

Shampoo -Desert Essence - Organics Green Apple & Ginger Thickening & Volumizing Shampoo

I have yet to find an organic hair care line that's any good. I liked the organic hand lotions by Desert Essence so I gave this and the shampoo a try. Nope. Weighed my fine hair down and made my scalp itchy. Pass. I now use it as a shaving cream for my legs & underarms (as I do with all conditioners I give up on), and it does a great job in that regard! ;)

Lotions/ Creams -Desert Essence - Almond Hand and Body Lotion

I'll say the same about this as I did about the coconut version of this: smells yummy, inexpensive for an organic product, and works well. I like to put on my hands, knees & elbows at bedtime during the winter. Soaks in very nicely, heals any redness in my knuckles from wind chapping. (I usually don't use it in the summer as it is very heavy.) I rotate between this and the coconut one as I tend to tire of the smells after a while.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche in Mica

I was using this for a while as my daily "nude" lipcolor, but lately it seemed too shimmery and pink so I switched to the nude sienna color (also L'oreal). After comparing to that shade, this one definitely has more shimmer--almost a frost. The pink tends toward mauve, but its not too dark, which I prefer as I'm pretty pale. I want to wear a color, not have a color wear me, know what I mean? ;) I'll probably save it for evenings when I want a bit more "bling".

Treatments -Avene - Ystheal+ Creme

Ugh, I'm through with any product that touts days worth of stinging as a good thing! I'd go outside into a gentle spring day and my skin would begin to tingle and burn after only a minute, even wearing a large brimmed hat and staying in the shade. To me, that's just ridiculous. I'd like to live my life like a normal person rather than slowly burn my face off in the search for eternal youth. Oh, and I did suffer through a couple of weeks using every other or every third day; not much happened results-wise. I'm not going to stress my skin and avoid daylight like a troll when there are better alternatives, lol. I'll pass, thanks very much!

No noticeable results for me. Disappointed I wasted money on this.

Treatments (Eye) -MyChelle - Fabulous Eye Cream
rated 4 of 5

I like this eye cream overall. I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to "miracle" wrinkle treatments, so I have low expectations for eye creams in general, lol. I've wasted enough money on creams that smell bad, sting and just don't work. The month or two before I started using this, it seemed that my faint laugh lines/crows feet were getting noticeably deeper week by week, especially one crease under my eye on the side of my face that I tend to sleep on at night. It was freaking me out. I bought myself the Mychelle sample kit and began using the fabulous eye cream. It doesn't sting, its not too heavy and it sinks right in. I think this eye cream helped ease the depth of that crease and it seemed that the lines stopped getting worse. Anyway, this cream, while no miracle worker, is good enough for me!

Cleansers -MyChelle - Fruit Enzyme Cleanser

I've really enjoyed this cleanser, it makes my skin feel fresh but not dried out. I like to use with a washcloth, the result is smooth silky skin. However, as fall and winter approach, my skin is getting drier so I'm going to have to switch to a more moisturizing option. It just doesn't feel as dewy as it used to after washing--I get that tight feeling which is a no-no in my book. Seasonal changes are pretty common for my skin however, so I don't really blame the cleanser. I'll go back to it next summer when my face gets greasier again! :) I'm also pleasantly surprised by its ability to wash off mascara. Overall a good choice for combo or oily skin.

Skincare - Face -MyChelle - Deep Repair Cream

Meh. Middle of the road. I'll be trying another Mychelle cream for my overnight option. This one is neither great nor awful. Doesn't give me that same clean, smooth, silky skin feeling that the Mychelle sunscreen does. I also don't like that it comes in a jar, I'd prefer a tube so that I don't feel like I'm contaminating it whenever I dip my fingers in.

Sunscreen -MyChelle - Sun Shield SPF 28
rated 5 of 5
sg123 10/25/2009 11:50:00 AM

This is the best sunscreen I've used for the face. Doesn't sting the eyes at all--even at the end of the day when one's face tends to be greasier and oils migrate towards the tear ducts. I have the habit of sometimes gently rubbing my eyes at night to clear my vision (contact lenses) and when I used other products I would run screaming to the bathroom to wash my face because my eyes would sting so much! (La Roche Posay, Cetaphil). That has never happened with this sunscreen. Even better, it soaks into the skin and the texture of my skin is very smooth and silky afterward. Others I've tried feel heavy and greasy, just sitting there on top of your face. I will say that when I go to the beach, I use the Banana Boat no tears spf 45 & up formulations because I really want the higher spf in that setting. Also, in the winter, I plan to add just a touch of other moisturizer on my cheeks and other drier areas since this is a very light cream. However, I do prefer lighter creams I can supplement to heavier creams that make you feel "globby"! Added bonus? It's free of nasty chemicals. Its a keeper for me until my skin changes.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Star Secrets Nude in Sienna
rated 5 of 5
sg123 10/24/2009 12:23:00 PM

I really like the fact that I finally found a nude that is neither too orange nor too pink. Truly looks like my lips but better. Just a touch of shimmer, which I also prefer since matte lipsticks look corpselike on me. I actually like the scent, to me its far more preferable to some of the heavily perfumed or chemically smells of other lipsticks. (I don't notice it after about a minute.) Feels very nice on the lips, just enough moisture. I like the look of the golden matte case and that you can use the reflective gold top as a mirror if you need to. Five bucks at Walmart is a steal. This will be my daily go-to for quite a while.
