Shampoo -TiGi - Catwalk Dry Shampoo

Been trying out dry shampoos for a while looking for a good match for my normal to oily brown/black hair. This one is the best so-far performance-wise. Light and doesn't leave that tell-tale white powder that shines like neon on dark hair. I would probably use it every day if it wasn't for THE SMELL. The smell is toxically overwhelming and not pleasant to begin with. Reminds me of aragon oil gone bad.

Moisturizers -La Mer - The Moisturizing Soft Cream
rated 3 of 5

As a die-hard Creme de La Mer user, I was very excited by their newly-touted "lighter" version of their regular cream. My thinking was that it would be perfect for the hotter, summer months. However, I was really underwhelmed. It doesn't appear to moisturize very much. I feel like I need to reapply in a few hours. Even that wonderful La Mer smell is absent. I think I'll just stick to the original.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Tinted Lip Balm - Pink Blossom
rated 4 of 5

My friend got a 4-pack for Christmas and gave me the Pink Blossom, as the color didn't work for her. WOW. I was really surprised by this little lip balm. First, the color looks neon pink in the tube but goes wears as a natural, playful pink. The perfect natural daytime shade, really. This is my new MLBB. Two, it wears like a lip balm, not a lip gloss. You will have to reapply it like you would have to any Chapstick-like balm.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Miracle Skin Transformer SPF20

I really WANT to give this product a 5. I've used both the Light and the Medium and they work beautifully. Full disclosure, I am fortunate to have pretty great skin. Normal to dry, only some redness around the nose and undereye circles. I have never worn foundation until I started getting older and then it was only tinted moisturizers - Laura Mercier, specifically. 1. I would never use this as a primer. It feels just the same as Smashbox's primer, very silicone-y and has trouble setting by itself. I would only recommend this product if you wore it by itself, over your regular moisturizer, after you concel, and set with powder. 2. You must set this with powder. It will try to come off otherwise. 3. Even though it says in the directions that you can layer it, you can't. It refuses to stick to itself. You'll have to use concealer before you apply for undereye circles. 4. I only need one layer and my skin looks flawless. This is perfect for someone who has is starting with a pretty even skintone. Foundations, even most tinted moisturizers always looked cakey and painted on, on my face. This is barely perceptable.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
rated 4 of 5
seussisms 2/9/2012 3:34:00 PM

Just like with the first Naked palette, I wish there were more matte daytime options. Blackout is definately the most used option and stays on reasonably well as an eyeliner. The brush that came with it is pretty worthless. The bristles are too loose to hold any product reliably. I would have preferred a lower price with no brush.

Found it to have too many frosted or glittery options. Would have liked a few more matte, day colors.

Finally figured out what the smell reminds me of - sage. Everytime I wore it, I felt like I smelled like Thanksgiving stuffing. Worked as well as most I've tried, nothing special.

The scent of this product is a dead ringer for Stella McCartney's 5 Benefits Moisturizing Cream. Very organic, leafy with a hint of white pepper. Best used as a treament under your moisterizer. Absorbed really well and not very drying. Used a sample for 2 weeks and there was a small but noticable softness of the skin and fine wrinkles. But at $150 for 1.7oz - it wasn't enough of a difference to validate the cost.

I never got past the smell. I was expecting a musky, organic smell based on the reviews. Instead, it smells EXACTLY like the FDS Feminine Deoderant Spray everyone used in the 80s. I mean, exactly like it. Wretched.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush
rated 5 of 5

I had to opportunity to try this out at a friends house before buying. That was all I needed. I couldn't stop touching my face all day! My daily moisturizer, which used to take up to 30 minutes to absorb every morning, now only takes 5 to 10. I use the normal brush for everyday and the sensitive brush with Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Exfoliating Cream twice a week. I have new skin!

Conditioner -L'Oreal - EverPure Sulfate Free Color Care System - Volume
rated 2 of 5
seussisms 8/23/2010 3:03:00 PM

Works only slighly better than the matching shampoo. Smell is comparable to Aveda products - very earthy. A little strong but I love Aveda scents. However, it performs horribly. I have never had such dry, dull looking hair. Doesn't seem to condition my thick, wavy hair at all. Combing thru is nearly impossible. Terribly difficult to squeeze out of the tubes, especially when you're hands are already wet. Very disappointed.

My HG microdermabrasion creme will always be Dr. Brandt's Microdermabrasion Exfoiliating Cream but this is a REALLY close, inexpensive second. Yes, they both use the aluminium oxide crystals but there just isn't anything else that comes close to doing a at-home pharmacudical-grade job. Highly recommend this.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Wild Rose
rated 4 of 5

Gives the PERFECT just-bitten lip color. So subtle and fresh. A couple of cons - it comes in a tub which is really difficult concerning ease of use. Have to use a lip brush or its going to get all under your nails. The other, it doesn't stay very long at all. But regardless, it is now one of my must haves.

Lip Treatments -Juice Beauty - Organic Lip Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5

Unlike a standard lip gloss, this is meant to treat dry lips. That said, it does leave a nice high gloss. Totally organic, meaning no petroleum or glyceren. Uses orange oil and beeswax and has a lucious orange-vanilla scent. I now have one in my purse and one in my nightstand.
