Polishes -Boots - No 7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour
rated 1 of 5

i actually HATE this nail varnish!! it takes 4 hours+ to dry, needs at least 3 coats, and the brush is really imprecise. But the worst part? After all that effort, it always peels off on the first day - so much for "stay perfect". I have this in "Totally Teal", which is really nice (although a little dark after all the coats needed for an opaque layer), and I guess the range of other colours is decent. And the packaging looks pretty good. But for £7 I expected WAYYY better...especially from No 7!! I have £1.50 nail varnishes from E.L.F. or Collection 2000 that are much better quality! Thank god I bought this with a £5 off voucher or I would have been so disappointed...

Powder -E.L.F. - Mineral Foundation

Love this stuff - my skin breaks out a LOT so i try to use powder (with E.L.F. concealer pencil and brush underneath) instead of liquid foundation. Together, there is pretty good coverage, but on its own, it probably wouldnt be so effective. It stays on fairly well as well, lasting most of the day, and removes shine :) The price is great too (£3.50) and even though the pot it comes in seems very small, you only need to use a really small amount so it lasts quite a long time.

Concealers -Unlisted Brand - Witch - Hide & Clear Concealer
rated 2 of 5

As a concealer, this product is pretty good - it doesn't go flaky and it has a nice creamy texture that's easy to rub in. I'm not so sure about the spot fighting stuff in it - hasn't really helped much, but it hasn't made me break out either. This concealer only gets two lippies however, because it's so expensive. It cost about £5 and you get hardly anything in the tube! It lasted me like two weeks maximum!! So I won't buy this again because I'm not prepared to pay so much for such a small amount of concealer.

Mascara -Boots - No7 Extreme Length Mascara
rated 4 of 5

Got a mini version of this mascara free and I think it's great! Gives me long thick lashes, doesn't clump, dries pretty fast and washes off easily enough with eye make up remover. However, it is pretty expensive and I don't like the packaging - the wand looks cheap and the tube looks ugly. I would buy this if it was on offer because it is a pretty good mascara, but for now I think I'll stick to cheaper brands.

Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop - Passion Fruit Shower Gel
rated 4 of 5

Smells really good and I use it almost every day - doesn't dry my skin out or anything like some other people said it did. However it is really expensive for shower gel and I was given it as a gift - probably wouldn't buy it for myself!

Moisturizers -Boots - Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Shine Control Day Moisturiser
rated 5 of 5
ser00 4/13/2010 6:42:00 AM

This is the BEST shine control moisturiser I have tried, and trust me, I've tried LOADS. It lasts for the whole day, moisturising any dry skin you have whilst keeping your oily T-zone shine free! It even works really well in the summer, and is a really good make-up base. It's about £3.50, but honestly I would pay way more for it (which is really saying something because I have hardly any money)!! The only problem I have with this moisturiser is that other people seem to be realising how good this stuff is because it is almost always sold out now...

Eye Makeup Remover -Boots - Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover
rated 3 of 5

I don't really wear much eye make up - when I do it's only eyeliner and mascara. This stuff is quite good at getting it off (haven't tried it on waterproof mascara though), but it is really oily. It's really good value though - £3 for 150ml, which will last for AGES because you only have to use a tiny amount on a bit of cotton wool. The bottle makes it look all organic and quite expensive, even though it's really easy to knock over or spill it when you are putting it on cotton wool. So I guess this is quite a good eye make up remover, especially for it's price, but I really don't like the oilyness of it.

Polishes -Rimmel - 60 Seconds Nail Polish
rated 4 of 5
ser00 4/13/2010 6:23:00 AM

I like this nail polish - it dries pretty quick, doesn't chip too much and there are quite a lot of colour choices. I have it in #400 starlet, which is this pretty sparkly pink colour - sounds really little-girly I know but trust me it looks really nice even on someone older than 10! They are quite good value - yes the pots are a little small, but to be honest, I never get through a whole pot of any brand of nail varnish before it goes gloopy, so this isn't really a problem for me.

Eyeliner -Boots - No7 Amazing eyes pencil
rated 4 of 5
ser00 4/13/2010 6:11:00 AM

Bought the black one using a £5 off voucher for No.7, but I wouldn't buy it without - it's about £7 or something, which is WAY too much for this eyeliner. From reading the other reviews, it seems like the black colour is much better than the others - it does stay on pretty well, although I think it is a bit difficult to apply. Also, I think it will be pretty difficult to sharpen because it's made of this hard plastic that will probably splinter, but I've only used it a couple of times so I'll have to wait and find out. Overall, I won't buy this again because full price I think it is way too expensive.

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - Shine Control Moisturizer
rated 3 of 5
ser00 4/12/2010 5:12:00 PM

I am pretty surprised by all the REALLY bad reviews because I've been using this for a few months every day and I don't really think it's that bad - it's not great, but not terrible either. I don't think it's made me break out, but it's difficult to tell because I always have spots anyway. I haven't really noticed an increase since I started using this moisturiser. It does control shine quite well (however I have been using it in the winter and I don't know how effective it will be when it gets hotter), keeping my face quite shine-free for most of the day. The moisturiser is quite thick, and at first I was worried it would be too heavy for my oily skin, but it does seem OK. It also has a really nice smell, sort of fresh and fruity. I like the bottle as well - a chunky pump bottle that means you get the perfect amount of moisturiser each time. The price is also very good (I paid £3 or £4 for a 100ml bottle). All in all, I won't buy this again, because I used to have a much better moisturiser (Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Shine Control Moisturiser) - I only bought this one because they were sold out of the Boots one. I do like the price and the smell, but there are better moisturisers out there at similar prices.

Liquid -New York Color - Smooth Skin
rated 1 of 5
ser00 1/4/2010 1:58:00 PM

This is a pretty rubbish foundation - yes it's cheap but seriously pay a couple of quid more and get something decent that will last twice as long! Or look on the internet for some good cheap make up brands (eg elf). I bought it because it was the cheapest foundation I could find in the whole of Superdrugs. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get out of the bottle - there's just this little hole in the top and it's made of glass so you can't squeeze it or anything - I had to shove my little finger down just to get a bit out!! Plus, it made my face break out and made it go all oily. Seriously, DON'T buy this just because it's cheap like I did - I just wasted my money and had to buy something else in the end!

Polishes -Barry M - Barry M.
rated 4 of 5
ser00 1/4/2010 1:48:00 PM

BarryM nail-polishes are really nice - they come in loads of bright, opaque colours that really stand out, are not to thick and quite quick to dry. However, they do chip quite easily, and despite this I find them quite hard to remove with nail-varnish remover.

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Vanilla Body Spray
rated 5 of 5
ser00 1/4/2010 1:44:00 PM

I LOVE the smell of this body spray!!! It smells warm and gorgeous - my friend wore it to school one day and I just HAD to buy some for myself! It can be a bit strong if you spray too much and if you spray too little it wears off really quickly, but I find 1-2 sprays is perfect. Yes the bottle is a bit cheap looking and it is quite expensive for a body spray but it lasts for ages and the smell is so lovely that I know I will buy this or the eau de toilette again.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Heat Defence Styling Spray
rated 3 of 5
ser00 1/4/2010 1:24:00 PM

I found this spray averageish at protecting my hair from my straighteners - it's really hard to tell whether it's doing any good because my hair is naturally dry. However when I went to the hairdressers after straightening my hair once or twice a week and using this they said it was very dry. Still, it's better than nothing I guess, it's a reasonable price, smells great and it lasts for ages.

Masks -Olay - Daily Facials Deep Cleansing Clay Mask [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
ser00 1/4/2010 1:09:00 PM

This mask is really good!! I use it 2-3 times a week and it leaves my skin soft and shrinks spots a bit. It doesn't make them disappear though, but I guess that's too much to ask for. I stole it off my mum (she had it lurking at the back of her cupboard - she'll never miss it!!) but now I can't find it in Boots or Superdrug!!! Where do you buy it!?
