Blush -Burberry - coral pink
rated 5 of 5
sehartley 5/23/2013 1:48:00 PM

Pricey but worth it! It will take me a lifetime to use this up as i use such a small amount. This smooth matte hot pink blush is very pigmented.a little goes a long way even on my honey coloured nc35 skin. The colour looks like a bright pink in the pan but it is slightly warm coloured, you can see hydrangea pink is definatly the brighter cooler shade between the two. The packing is the usual metallic checked case with mirror and brush (which is a good brush for touch ups) I've invested in other burberry makeup, the bronzer, lipsticks and eyeshadows and ive not been dissapointed with anything.with burberry its worth trying the colours out rather than buying online.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
sehartley 4/17/2013 8:05:00 AM

My new holy grail mascara.im already pricing up a backup of this as I never want to be without it.i usually use an expensive designer brand.this is 1/5 of the price of my usual mascara!! And its better.i usually prefer non waterproof but I'd heard this was a great long lasting waterproof version which isn't too bad to remove. The wand is flexible plastic, with very very short tiny plastic bristles.it means you can coat your whole lash, from root to tip without getting the product on your eyelid. The packagings not fab, its a long telescope shaped tube in metallic blue.it could be classier? I put one nice thin coat on and I was like 'wow!' It made my short stubby lashes look long and lush. It doesn't really add volume.im happy with that as I need length and separation. I would put on two thin coats letting each one dry if I was going out. I'm not a usual drugstore / chemist mascara person but I'm Massively impressed with this.

Loose Powders -Vichy - Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder
rated 5 of 5
sehartley 3/20/2013 10:48:00 AM

As I'm quite tan my first thoughts were "its very white!" But on my skin its such a fine powder it blends to look completely clear.fab. I've heard they do a few different coloured loose powders.i wouldn't bother with those.buy this! It will match you all year round! I use it on top of my Vichy dermablend foundation in gold 45 (see review) I only need a little on my flat top powder brush and I gently buff that all over my face.my skin feels so smoothed afterwards.this isn't just a regular powder, it has specific skin benefits. The tub has the usual holed sifter. ive only cut part off the sticker off so three holes are used.as you only need to use a small amount of powder each time.it comes with a puff (handy for the odd touch up in summer) and it has 28g of product!!!! Considering the average powder is around 9g or 10g that's awesome.makes it very economical. It will last me through many foundations. If this could be made perfect Vichy would do this in a pressed powder format!! Just to reduce mess.

Foundations -Vichy - Dermablend Corrective Foundation
rated 5 of 5
sehartley 3/20/2013 7:51:00 AM

I got the colour gold 45. I'm light tanned skintone.think Jessica alba.about nc 35 ish. I love this foundation, the only downside for me is the colour choice.i managed to get a discount on this tube and if I need to I would buy two tubes and mix colours as i know I would definately buy this foundation again! Its now my holy grail. I also got the setting powder, its worth getting! see my review on that.once set with the powder (which looks white and scary in the tub but is pretty much completely clear, even on my skintone) my face will last all day and all night. I have dry skin so i use a good moisturiser under the foundation or sometimes a once a day SPF.i let it sink in. Then I apply a thin layer of foundation with my fingers and it blends like a dream.i tap a touch more on my under eye dark circles.i follow with a little of the powder to set it all.i have dry skin so i don't have much oil production to keep at bay. Price wise its heck cheaper than my usual designer brands and works so much better.one 30ml tube will last along time as you use so little. The tubes pretty boring looking and not the safest to put in a bag and travel with as it can leak.vichy need to uplift the packaging of this product. Colour selection is awful, gold 45 is a little too dark for me but blendable.i might need to purchase the lighter colour sand 35 for winter and mix them. I would recommend this to friends although its perhaps hard to get the correct colour.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - All Colors
rated 3 of 5
sehartley 1/16/2013 11:36:00 AM

I gave the packaging four stars, as its small, thick plastic, so good for travel, looks modern but unfortunately the product dries out really fast.ive hardly used mine and its a dry hard lump that's cracked and come away from the sides of the pot. I have these cream liners in black, olive, navy (which isn't as nicely pigmented as the rest, and brown (which is a medium brown) Price wide pretty good but I'd prefer to spend a few pounds more to get something that lasts more than a few months.

Blush -Rimmel - Exaggerate blush - live pink
rated 5 of 5
sehartley 1/16/2013 9:28:00 AM

Rimmel isn't a brand I usually buy but I was attracted by the bright pink colour of this blusher.it looks great on my tanned skintone. The blush itself isn't shimmery but its not completely matte either .its the blush ive reached for daily, my more expensive brands of blush have been overlooked! The packagings a real let down, its cheap and easily broken, mine isn't broke (yet) but the top keeps coming off the base.the blush is small so I find that handy as it takes up less room in my small makeup bag. I paid around £3.50 for this online so its cheaply replaced if I do break it or loose it.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Gel eyeliner in Black gold
rated 4 of 5
sehartley 1/16/2013 9:21:00 AM

I was actually looking for a black gel eyeliner that was better than my eBay one.i came across this on sale for £4. The colour is black gold, which is a black (not darkest matt black) with finest gold shimmers. It makes a great alternative to a matt black, I still don't think its as good as the eBay ones but it does have great staying power.it looks great with my dark brown eyes.i could wear this everyday for work and it not look too heavy. The small glass jar packaging is similar to bobbi brown. The product itself is creamy and could be used as a long wearing base for a smokey eye.a brush is included, I'm quite surprised at the quality of the brush, its easy to create thin lines with this smooth product. I'm not sure how comfortable this product would be to put in the waterline due to the shimmers.for the price its very comparable to more expensive high end eyeliners and the fact that you also get a great brush makes it very economical.i will definatly be looking to see what other colours they do. If you want a matt black liner check out eBay for just over three pounds.

Palettes -Laura Mercier - Bonne Mine
rated 4 of 5
sehartley 1/11/2013 3:57:00 PM

I love everything about this palette except the packaging.its very sturdy cardboard with pull out instruction cards included.i wish it was in the typical dark brown plastic Laura mercier palette. Colour wise i can see it suiting everyone except the very pale. The colours are very blendable, not greasy ony dry skin and they have great staying power. A great palette for holiday as its not easily broken, you use your fingers to apply product (so no brushes needed) and the colours can be blended to create many looks. This would be a great palette for 2013 as the glowy healthy natural makeup look is very fashionable.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish - Porcelain Pink
rated 5 of 5
sehartley 1/3/2013 8:32:00 AM

I bought a load of makeup on Boxing Day and I swore that was it for 2013.then I saw mac had the new après chic range out.i have wanted an msf for a long time but I needed a colour that wouldn't look ashy on my nc 30-35 ish skintone. I tried soft and gently instore and I did not like it.it looked ashy on my skin. The sales girl was more tan And it looked even worse on her! i thought it looked like chunky shimmer too. This colour porcelain pink is perfect!!! I could use this with tinted moisturiser, a lil under eye concealer and mascara, job done! It's my new absolute holy grail highlighter.it will gently pick up any makeup look.the particles are very fine, not big and glittery at all.the colour is a very soft warm pinky peach.it would work as a very light blush on the palest skins.ive heard this is comparable to the msf in 'by candlelight' from a few years ago. This is one product I will def be keeping a stash of and I usually change my makeup all the time,so its rare for me to keep to one particular thing. If in doubt buy it!! You won't be dissapointed with this!!

Moisturizers -Caudalie - Vinosource Intense Moisture Rescue Cream
rated 5 of 5
sehartley 12/14/2012 10:50:00 AM

My dry dehydrated skin loves this! What's great is it doesn't feel greasy or leave a film on my skin.its rich but within half an hour it feels like its completely absorbed into my skin, leaving my skin feeling more complete and nourished.price wise its around £20 in uk, not the most expensive moisturiser by far but not greatly cheap if your slapping it on morning and night.my holy grail has been la roche posay hydraphase riche but I can see it changing to this for winter as caudalie is richer. I actually like the small minimum fuss tube too.it doesn't look luxurious but its plastic and easy to travel with.

Cleansers -Avene - Cleanance soapless gel cleanser for oily skin
rated 4 of 5
sehartley 8/18/2012 4:14:00 PM

Firstly I've got dry skin, very dry and this doesn't overly dry out my skin! I bought this really as a makeup remover, first cleanse.i will then use avene extremely gentle cleanser as my skin/pore cleanser (please see my review in this) So this is a slightly green clear gel wash.a slight 'clean fragrance' which I like. I use a tiny amount and it foams really well.this sturdy 200ml bottle (around £7 in uk?) will last a long time! The cap on this is a dial that you turn to create a tiny hole at the very top.it's easy to keep clean and very sturdy to use for travel :) It effectively removed my light foundation. The product is designed for acne prone and oily sesitive skin.this product is soap free. I would buy this again, as I love the fresh feeling it leaves on my skin.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Eau Thermale Avene- Extremely Gentle Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
sehartley 8/18/2012 4:04:00 PM

If you have dry skin buy this!!! If you have sensitive, irritated, sore, red, product sensitive skin buy this!! Ive just ordered a back up of this as I couldn't live without it.it's my new holy grail. Its around £8, for 200ml in the uk.so not a greatly cheap product, no expensive swish packaging.a simple but very sturdy clear bottle. There is a very slight fragrance to this, but it's so slight I'm struggling to describe it. I use this on dry skin, rubbing it in all over my face and eyes it turns into a very light cream/milk.i then use a dry cotton pad to quickly remove the product.this leaves my dry skin feeling soft hydrated but clean without leaving any residue! it does take off any residue of eyemakeup (I use a separate eye makeup remover before hand) I don't think this would effectively take off heavy makeup in one cleanse. My skin has never felt more lush and hydrated. This is the purest simplest one step product I've ever used.great for travel, czmping etc as no water is needed.

Lip Treatments -La Roche Posay - Nutritic - Lips
rated 5 of 5
sehartley 4/4/2012 3:47:00 PM

Soft nourished lips without feeling claggy!! Its my holy grail!! I tried the hydraphase riche and was so amazed I decided to try some of the other LR Posay products. My lips are always dry and peeling.i tried the nuxe miel lipbalm (pot form) and its too thick and claggy sitting on top of the lips and not really doing alot. This is in a stick form. The packaging is simple but effective and fairly sturdy. The balm is in a white stick form and is clear when applied on the lips.feels like your applying a thin layer of fine oil. I find this a really comforting balm.

Moisturizers -Vichy - Nutrilogie S2
rated 4 of 5
sehartley 3/23/2012 5:51:00 PM

The only reason I wouldn't buy this again is because the la Roche p hydraphase riche is sooo much better!!! This white cream is luxurious and rich.it would make a great night cream.i wouldn't use it during the day as it makes my skin feel tacky.it does absorb very well but my skin would feel sticky and perhaps if I needed to put foundation on top it might be hard to get it to look even. It comes in a clear glass pot, which isn't as hygienic or easy to travel with compared to my favourite moisturiser mentioned above (which comes in a plastic tube with a pump) So being one of the most popular moisturisers for dry skin I thought I'd give it a go. It doesn't hold a candle to the la Roche p one!!!

Lip Treatments -Vichy - Aqualia Thermal Soothing and Repairing Balm
rated 4 of 5
sehartley 3/23/2012 5:42:00 PM

Lips feel instantly moistened on application, no stickyness and only a slight soft residue is left on the lips. You get alot of product for the price £5 in a uk chemist. The balm also feels quite tightly milled so you won't go through alot too quickly.i don't think during the day you would need many applications either. I would def buy again. I've ordered the la Roche p one and nuxe honey one to try too but so far this is my favourite balm stick for my dry peeling wintered lips. Being in a stick rather than a pot its much quicker and less messy to apply.
