Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover
rated 5 of 5
sealegg 1/25/2013 6:59:00 AM

This is the only makeup remover I can bring myself to give a five lippie rating because it actually does it's job and does it job very well. I find it odd that people complain about how greasy this is because it's suppose to be washed off your face afterwards. Take the day off is the only makeup remover I've owned (and I've owned a lot) that successfully take off any waterproof makeup without any hassle whatsoever.

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils Mascara
rated 3 of 5
sealegg 1/20/2013 4:08:00 PM

Yes, this is the best mascara I have ever used. However, there is no excuse for this price. Really, $30 for a mascara you still have to put work into? No thanks. If I have to pay $30 for a mascara I expect it to work like magic, I don't want to have to work with it. It clumps up if you don't wipe the edges off, and even after wiping the edges you have to use the zig-zag method. The results are great. The price and the work you have to put into it, not so much.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
rated 3 of 5
sealegg 1/18/2013 8:54:00 AM

The consistency of this product is like whipping cream, which is something I find gorgeous about Hope in a Jar. However, I am glad I asked for a sample of this before I slurged and bought the whole jar. If you have ever tried Clique Dramatically Different Lotion and gel, I would say this is the perfect "in-between" moisturizer you can get. I 'm not particularly fond of the scent of this product, and that's saying a lot because I've never had that reaction toward any makeup or skincare product. If I liked the product enough I could get past it. Unfortunately, I don't. Though my skin feels supple after I use it, it leave a very slight greasy reside I do not like. For $53 those are factors I simply can't over come. Which is a shame because other than the grease factor it would have been perfect for the winter time. For a reference I have normal skin, this will more than likely work perfectly for someone with drier skin.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 5 of 5
sealegg 12/29/2012 4:06:00 PM

I try to be open minded (after all thats what purity simply advertises) about the products I try, though when I read reviews about this I was scared. Nonetheless, I got a one ounce sample from Sephora and I've been using it for over a week now. It's the best makeup remover/cleanser I've ever used. All I need is a small amount to remove all my makeup. It not only removes my makeup, Purity provides a sheer glow to my skin, makes it feel clean and supple. My skin just feels awake, alive. I feel like its help my face achieve a flawless look without foundation. I've never been more comfortable without it. I actually like the smell of it. I plan to get the full 32 oz bottle soon. I just can't get enough of this wishery. Would I buy this again? Yes, yes a million times yes.

Fragrances -Calvin Klein - Euphoria
rated 5 of 5
sealegg 12/20/2012 8:15:00 PM

This is a beautiful and timeless scent. I like the opening is quite an amazingly juicy, luscious dark berry is what I get. It dries down in about the duration of thirty minutes, and it smells of musk and powder along with the same pomegranate/berry scent, but morphed in such a way that provides intellect. Euphoria seems like it was made with such care and the characteristic of it resemble that of an sophisticated woman of ages 18 and up. It's very mature and bosomy, which is quite lovely. Although I am not particularly fond of the scent of berries and pomegranates (which is odd because they both make my favorite blend in juices/smoothies), I am not basing my review off that. That would mean I'd give a bad review to every perfume that provides pomegranates and berries. I can still appreciate the composition, sexuality and sophistication of it's aurora.

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
rated 5 of 5
sealegg 12/3/2012 12:36:00 AM

I started using Vaseline due to the lash growth myth. I was a skeptic when buying it but I thought "Well, if it doesn't work I can always use it as a base for my lashes.". It's been two weeks and I must say I'm totally surprised. My lashes look longer and thicker than they ever were. Even when I take the Vaseline off. Yesterday, I looked in the mirror and involuntary blurted out "Wow.". When I curled and put my mascara on it looked like I was wearing falsies on the bottom and top of my lashes. I wish I had used Vaseline earlier. Another thing is before I used vaseline my bottom lashes were almost invisible, but now they seem to be thickening. You know, a myth is a myth. There is no scientific data saying this will help your lashes grow. Most myths should be true, most myths aren't, and some are true. I choose to believe in this one first hand.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Almond
rated 5 of 5
sealegg 11/25/2012 12:12:00 AM

This blush is beautiful. Like another review said, the picture looks nothing like the one I have. The one I have is actually brown with a deep rose tint. I have a dark tan complexion and this blush is perfection. Being a blush hoarder I find this blush is the blush I reach for 5 out of 7 times of the week. It's very natural, and sits on the skin well. I can not say this blush is very versatile. I think it's because for people with a level of olive to darker complexions. Do not expect a rosy color. On people with lighter complexions I can see this looking like a peachy color. This color is almost like a bronzer on myself, it gives the perfect sun kissed look.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in Black
rated 4 of 5
sealegg 11/22/2012 5:33:00 AM

Smashbox Waterproof Eye Liner in Black is a decent eyeliner. Pros: It doesn't smudge The consistently is smooth It's easy to apply It's great for subtle looks It is waterproof Cons: It's not quite as black as I hoped I love my liners as black as they can be and this one just didn't cut it. However, on me it is great when I don't feel like doing anything to my eye except lining and applying mascara. I gave it four stars because although it is not super dark, the liner does what is says.

Cleansers -Ponds - Deep Cleanser Cold Cream
rated 5 of 5
sealegg 10/8/2012 1:05:00 AM

This is my HG cleanser! After a few trail and errors with drug store cleaners, I was almost set on giving them up (especially after 360 L'oreal deep cleanser infected oeyes, and dried out the top half of my whole face). My skin is on the dry to normal side. This cleaner takes my make-up off without me having to put too much work into it. It's also ideal for dry skin. My skin has never felt so supple after using this cleanser continuously. Also, it doesn't contain alcohol or eye irritants. I have sensitive eyes so this is perfect for me. I suggest getting the smaller bottle because it doesn't take too much product for one use, and you want to avoid bacteria from forming inside the bottle. People with dry to normal skin, try this out! Please.

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser
rated 1 of 5
sealegg 10/5/2012 12:53:00 AM

Warning: Give heed to this product if you have sensitive skin! I loved this cleanser the first time I used it, but after a couple days it developed a sty in my eye. It was horrible, normally my sty's go away in a day or two, but this one was serious business. I involuntarily cried through those days and my eyes were itchy to no end. I was miserable. I made sure to wash as thorough as possible. But man did this stuff dry the top part of my face out! I never had that problem before. I read reviews saying this was drying to the face, but ignored them. Please give heed to this product.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
rated 2 of 5
sealegg 10/5/2012 12:46:00 AM

I originally loved this product, but after having it for about a week I can see what everyone is saying about it. It is too heavy on my face. I thought it would be different for me because I have normal to dry skin, but I don't like that it sits on my face for hours before it completely absorbs. The packaging is exception, but this lotion is too greasy and thick for anyones skin. I don't usually break out, but this gave me little bumps. Needless to say I returned. I switched it out for the gel.

Eyeliner -Kat Von D - Autograph Liquid Eyeliner
rated 3 of 5
sealegg 9/30/2012 3:52:00 AM

This is a decent eyeliner. It's best for thin lines, but not as versatile as I would like it to be. It's really hard to manage a winged look with this eyeliner because of the thin bristles of the brush. However, this liner is easy to apply and control if your desired look is a subtle look. I don't regret this purchase, and I would probably get again if I run out (or find a better one that accommodates the same purpose) considering there is no eyeliner like this one if you desire a thin line. It's very easy to use depending on what you're trying to do with it.

Concealers -Tarte - Maracuja creaseless concealer
rated 5 of 5
sealegg 9/28/2012 6:32:00 AM

For starters, I work at a grocery store. I work three daytime shifts and two guaranteed overnight shifts in the course of a week. Which means my sleeping schedule is off, and my dark circles are noticeable when something is not done about it. I was pretty set on getting a Bobbi Brown concealer, only to find that the Sephora nearby didn't carry it. So, I ended up asking about other concealers they carry, and came across this gem. I was very pleased with the application, color and texture. Quality-wise, I find this comparable to the Bobbi Brown concealer I fell in love with (maybe slightly better). It's creaseless and natural looking. Before the Sephora employee showed me this, she tried to match me with the Nars stick concealer and I found it to be too cakey and you could see creases, fortunately I told her this instead of buying it straight away. I'm certain I will be repurchasing this again for a few reasons. Mainly because only the tiniest drop will make the world of difference, so this is very cost efficient (if I were to use it everyday I can see it easily lasting for months). This also comes in a tube rather than a stick, pot or application. Everyone has their own opinion on packaging, but I find this easier for me to apply. It's kind of like the way people prefer the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer in a tube rather than the one with the applicator, because it's easier to control your usage/quantity. The tan color is perfect for my darkish-tannish skin. I honestly couldn't be more please with this concealer. This is a staple for sure, and my search for the perfect concealer is finally over.

Eyeliner -Almay - Liquid Eyeliner
rated 1 of 5
sealegg 9/25/2012 7:29:00 PM

BEWARE for those who have sensitive eyes. This eyeliner wouldn't be so bad if it didn't have horrible ingredients for those with sensitive skin. I actually really liked this eyeliner upon application and the first time I used it, I felt my eyes tingling and getting itchy around my lash area. I tried to endure it, and I endured this feeling for an hour or so and it was gone. I continued using this, and the more I used this eyeliner the more my immunity to the reaction got worse. This was my first drugstore liquid eyeliner and I was starting to think I was allergic to drugstore liquid eyeliner. I'm sitting here now, reading the low rating reviews and one in particular stood out and mentioned there is an ingredient that contains nickel. It is not unusual for someone to be allergic to nickel. So why would you add an ingredient that is commonly known to start allergic reactions? Oh hell no, I think my Almay days are over.

Mascara -Max Factor - Masterpiece Mascara
rated 1 of 5
sealegg 9/24/2012 8:43:00 PM

I will start by saying my favorite mascara so far is Dior Show Blackout. However, I am new to the mascara game and before Dior Show Blackout I was using Great Lash, which is not best mascara in the world (that's a big understatement). This mascara is not for people who want a dramatic effect (like I do, most of the time). This is mores subtle and lengthening. Masterpiece is also very clumpless and the formula is easy on the eyes, I have sensitive eyes. Also getting this mascara made me start thinking that dramatic is not always the way to go. When I where masterpiece, I am totally happy with it on and I'm not insecure about it smudging. It's a great alternative, and I think this is the only mascara that gives off a subtle look I will buy continuously. UPDATE When this mascara dries it it really adds stress and hardens my eyelashes. I may have reviewed this too soon. I will not be purchasing this again, my eyelids hurt now and I'm worried my lashes may fall. I'm changing my four star lippie to one star.
