Mascara -Rimmel - Lash Accelerator

I have tried a variety of mascaras, but this by far has been my go to and most used for two primary reasons; 1. My lashes are noticeably longer AND thicker after one month. Prior to using this brand, my lashes would barely reach the middle part of an eyelash curler. Now, my lashes reach the top of the curler. This is a small miracle for me. 2. Longest lasting and less smudge. I can wear this all day at work (9-10 hours) with no smudging. I tend to accidently rub my eyes a lot too )contacts) and this holds-up pretty well. Only downfall is clumping. Yes, mine clumps on occasion, but I just use a fine toith eyelash comb to work through it and that does the trick. I also wish there were more sales for Rimmel brands because I would def stock up on this mascara.

Skincare - Face -Neutrogena - Microdermabrasion System

I only reserve 5 lippies for the HG of products, but this system comes pretty close. I have been using this system for a month now and have seen a huge improvment in firmness, minimized fine lines & pores, and the best - a cystic scar I about gave up on years ago. My scar is just about flat and can be covered with concealer unlike the last 15 years of just trying to ignore it. I purchased mine for $20 at Wal-Greens and it even came with a refill pack free. I conducted research between this and Oil of Olay & Clairsonic and am glad I chose Neutrogena. My boyfriend is even taking mine and using it now and HIS pores are smaller! Currently, I use this 3 times a week and finish off with my Loreal Toner and Physicians Formula Anti-Aging moisturizer and my skin looks like it did when I was a young adult. I cannot recommend this enough. Worth every penny.

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream

I have tried this brand and the Garnier BB cream and between the two, this by far works better for my skin type (oily combination). I used the tester they had at CVS and found light / medium worked best for me. This is NOT something you would use if you want medium to full coverage. I equate this to tinted moisturizer that minimizes pores and evens out my skin tone. Longevity was about 4-6 hours and I saw no breakouts after a week of wear. This BB cream is much lighter (in weight & coverage) than Garnier (not to mention the Garnier has a slight orange undertone to it). I applied this using both my hands and a brush and found the hands is best to ensure even coverage. The downside is packaging - flimsy squeeze tube and leaks even if you have stopped squeezing (perhaps it was a tad watery). Purchased on sale, but would not pay full price.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup

In my young adult years, I never found the need to wear foundation and make-up as a whole (aside from lipstick), but as I age, my skin has become discolored and I decided to try this out. I saw a review on YouTube recently from someone I admire from afar and she raved about this, so I gave it a whirl. This is by far the best drugstore foundation I have tried - hands down. I do not like the feeling and look of having a lot of make-up on, but want to keep the t-zone mainly shine-free. This does the trick perfectly. I was also worried about breaking out as my skin is senstitive and no breakouts thus far. The consistency is light, blending is efortless, and the longevity of this is amazing. Usually you put on make-up indoors and when you step outside, you look totally different. Not so with this foundation. What you see is what you get. It's buildable, but I found only one pass looks best. My only gripe is the packaging. A little goes a long way for me, but this could've been packaged in a pump for ease of use and hygenic reasons. It takes up so much space in my drawer. But, overall, GREAT buy and I would def. recommend. I purchased the Nude at Wal-Greens as they are having a BOGO 1/2 off right now.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Intense ShadowBlast
scta0000 6/28/2012 12:56:00 PM
I just purchased this in two colors (pink and light brown) on sale at CVS and hate to admit it, but I don't like these. First, the wand is too spongy and large for a precise application. Second, blending using my fingers causes two issues; complete removal of the shadow before it sets OR not being able to blend at all once it sets (can we say "bald spots?!). Third, once set, I started to feel a tightness / stiffness on my lids which lasted an hour or so (is this normal?). Lastly, I applied the pink on my lids at 8:00am and it's about noon and I see nothing but creases. Granted, the primer does assist the shadow to stay on slightly longer and the color is quite pretty, but for $7.99? I don't think so... I have read reviews where there isn't enough pigmentation and being too "sparkly" for daytime and I tend to agree. Sorry, CoverGirl, but this is one of the first products I have purchased from you in years and probably my last.
