Cleansers -Origins - Clean Energy Cleansing Oil
rated 5 of 5

After reading positive reviews all over the internet for this cleanser, I decided to give it a try after my Mad Hippie Cream Cleanser was not able to remove the heavier sunscreens I am now wearing for the warmer months. All those reviews I read were dead on! This one product replaces any eye makeup and makeup removers, and cleansers you might use. It removes *everything* but leaves my skin incredibly soft and hydrated. It's done a great job of clearing out my pores and keeping my skin clear. I like the scent and don't find it heavy at all. Going off the recommendations of others, I did purchase the separate pump, which is now $1.50. But it is well worth it. I use one pump in the morning, and two in the evening for heavier cleansing. You rub it over dry skin, then use water to emulsify the oil, then rinse. Like many others, I am not able to use mineral oil, but did used to use the DHC cleansing oil, but stopped using it after Sephora no longer carried the line. If you're interested in using a cleansing oil, but can't use mineral oil, give this a try.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator
rated 4 of 5
scootipooti 6/3/2011 10:19:00 PM

So far I'm very pleased with EL's latest product. I have a lot of redness in my face for a variety of different reasons. According to EL, this serum is supposed to dramatically reduce the look of uneven skintone. I think a lot of the initial improvement you see comes from their 'Triple-Optic Technology'. It reminds me of the light reflecting properties that was used in the Magic powder by Prescriptives. While it does give my skin a more even appearance, I don't love the slight shimmery effect it leaves. It doesn't leave my skin looking glittery or shiny, which is why I will continue to use it and really do like it. Plus, that shimmery effect more or less goes away after putting on my makeup. I don't know that I would leave the house looking that way without at least some powder, but that's just me. As for long term effects, so far I have seen a little bit of improvement. The redness in my face appears calmer and less red, even when I don't have the serum on. I am also prone to oiliness and blackheads, and this product isn't causing trouble with either of those issues. As for scent, it is similar to the original Idealist, and is very light. I am extremely sensitive to fragrance in products and this does not irritate me at all. Overall, I am really happy with this serum. I'm seeing improvement and like the results I'm seeing. At this point I am likely to repurchase again, though it is a bit pricey at $58 for the small bottle.

Treatments -Clinique - Pore Refining Solutions Correcting Serum
rated 5 of 5
scootipooti 5/14/2011 12:11:00 PM

Amazing!!! I *love* this product. I have very large pores on and around my nose. In just a few days, this has really started to clean them out like nothing I've ever used. I also have issues with oiliness in my t-zone, and this really keeps it at bay. It creates a lovely matte finish that my makeup loves and it lasts longer as a result. I'm very excited to see how much more improvement I will see over the upcoming weeks. When I went to the Clinique counter to purchase this in the morning, the beauty advisor told me I was the fourth person to buy it, and that was very unusual for a weekday morning. Word is getting out! I highly recommend giving it a try!

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Plantlife - Lemongrass Aromatherapy Herbal Soap
rated 5 of 5

If you suffer from body breakouts, I cannot recommend this soap enough. Plantlife is a wonderful, all natural company and I buy all of my essential oils from them. We tried the Lemongrass soap in my house for body acne, and it was a God-send. It works really well to heal and prevent and it smells wonderful. This deserves ten lippies!!!

Treatments -Mary Kay - Targeted-Action Line Reducer
rated 3 of 5
scootipooti 5/8/2011 12:22:00 PM

This product comes in pen form and you click the product up through the top of a slanted tip. Prior to putting on your makeup, you run the 'pen' over any lines you may have. This actually does really well on my laugh lines. It makes them much less visible and diffuses the light. For the slight lines on my forehead, it does nothing. It's implied this will help with wrinkles in the long run. I saw no improvement in my wrinkles and used the whole pen. You also need to wait a bit for it to set before putting on your makeup or it will bead up on you. It's more or less an overpriced 'filler' so I won't purchase again. It didn't break me out and is fragrance-free, which I always like. If it was cheaper, I might buy it again when I want to diffuse my laugh lines, but for the price ($40 USD) I just can't justify it.

Cleansers -Origins - Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Face Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
scootipooti 5/8/2011 12:05:00 PM

This product cleared out the pores on my nose like no cleanser I've ever used. It left my skin and smooth, and I had no breakouts. I had a nice glow and had great hopes I'd found my HG cleanser. No such luck. It is too fragranced for me. I am extremely sensitive to smells, and as much as I tried to use this, each time I was left with a headache. If scents don't bother you, then this might work well for you.

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Mad Hippie - Eye Cream
rated 5 of 5
scootipooti 5/7/2011 6:26:00 PM

This eye cream feels awesome and sinks right into my skin. Like the other Mad Hippie products, I'm completely sold on this. It melts into my skin and has done a great job of decreasing my crow's feet. My only complaint is you have to be very careful when pumping the product out or you will get three times as much as you need. Other than that, this product is flawless. It's all natural, no parabens or other preservatives. If you're looking for an all natural eye cream, I hardly recommend trying this.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum
rated 5 of 5
scootipooti 5/7/2011 6:24:00 PM

This is my holy grail of serums. This stuff is AWESOME. I cannot tell you how much my skin has improved since using this. Fine lines and discolorations are fading FAST. My skin feels so smooth and looks positively radiant and healthy. It comes in a beautiful glass container and you use a dropper to dispense the product, making it very sanitary. I keep this in my fridge, and that makes it feel all that more refreshing. No breakouts, no irritation, just pure goodness. I highly recommend checking this out. As with all Mad Hippie products, it's all natural!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Mad Hippie - Face Cream
rated 5 of 5
scootipooti 5/7/2011 6:21:00 PM

I discovered the Mad Hippie line and am in love with all four of their products. This moisturizer has a slight scent, but it's not an added fragrance, and it disappates quickly. It's chock full of healthy ingredients and makes my skin super soft and smooth. I wish it contained an SPF, but will continue to use it regardless. It has caused no irritation to my skin and no breakouts. My skin glows and looks dewy, but not oily in any way. As with all their products, this is full of all natural ingredients. Highly recommend!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Mad Hippie - Cream Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
scootipooti 5/7/2011 6:17:00 PM

I *LOVE* the Mad Hippie line. There are four products in it, and my skin loves each and every one. It's an all natural cleanser in a lovely bottle with pump. It's full of wonderful ingredients that are wonderful for your skin. This cleanser does not foam, and has a lotiony texture. It cleans off every trace of makeup and leaves my skin clean, but not stripped in any way. I've had no breakouts and no irritation. If you're looking for an all natural cleanser, give this a try! UPDATE: I've noticed the cleanser is not able to remove heavy duty sunscreens off my face. I will have to put this aside until the cooler months return. Origins Clean Energy cleansing oil is working fantastically in its place.

Mascara -Clinique - Naturally Glossy Mascara
rated 5 of 5
scootipooti 5/7/2011 6:13:00 PM

This is my staple mascara. It has a natural look, but accentuates my eyes nicely. Eye products tend to make my eyes itchy, and this doesn't bother them at all. No flaking, smudging or raccoon eyes. I've been using it for over ten years and love it.

Cleansers -Mary Kay - Timewise 3-in-1 Cleanser and Moisturizer
rated 2 of 5
scootipooti 5/7/2011 6:12:00 PM

I have tried both the N/O and N/D combinations of this because my skin varies throughout the year. I found that the TW collection actually accentuated my fine lines, and made my skin very tight and gave it a very shiny and weird feeling texture. I can't even describe it, but it wasn't pleasant. This did keep my skin clear from breakouts and was fragrance-free, so I give it a two. I know others who have had success with this line, but it just doesn't work for me.

Cleansers -Bare Escentuals - RareMinerals Renew & Reveal Facial Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
scootipooti 5/7/2011 6:09:00 PM

I wanted to love this product. My skin seemed to like it, because the redness I usually have improved greatly and it cleaned my skin well. Sadly, I experienced a breakout of blackheads so I discontinued use. If it weren't for those, I would still be using this today. My skin looked quite healthy while using it, so I'm sad to have had to stop using it. I would suggest giving it a try, though, to see if it works for you.

Treatments -Mary Kay - Microdermabrasion Kit
rated 3 of 5
scootipooti 5/7/2011 6:06:00 PM

I like this kit, though I wouldn't spend the $55 on it again. The first step, scrub, felt very fine and nice on my skin and did a very good job of smoothing out my skin. I didn't experience any redness or irritation on my sensitive skin. There is no fragrance, which is a plus. The second step, to replenish, didn't really do anything for me. It just kind of sits on the skin. While it didn't do anything negative to my skin, I didn't see where it replenished it. I don't have any complaints, but for the price, I would expect it to do more, so I won't be buying it again.

Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer
rated 1 of 5
scootipooti 5/7/2011 5:59:00 PM

I was very disappointed in this moisturizer. Overpriced, packaged in a jar, and it broke me out terribly with tiny red bumps. I would highly suggest trying to get a sample prior to buying the whole jar.
