BB Cream -Revlon - Photoready BB Cream SPF 30
schixzotic 4/15/2013 12:35:00 PM
This was given a BEST rating on Paula's Choice so I absolutely had to try it. Good god, was I in for a nasty surprise. I wore this over Estee Lauder's Nutritious Day Gel-Creme and Biotherm sunscreen. This product's slip value was so high that it refused to stay on my skin and sank straight into my pores! It looked so awful that I had to wash everything off and restart the skin regime, and this time I used L'Oreal True Match (an adequate foundation btw, though not my absolute favourite). No problems with L'Oreal. The next day I attempted again, this time with Shiseido White Lucent underneath and no Biotherm sunscreen. It stuck this time, but I was disappointed to find that the coverage was ZERO. It is at best a primer with suncreen in my opinion. It can, however, be layered IF your skin isn't properly moisturised such that it doesn't slip. I had to apply 5 times before the pigment covered even some flaws. A most disappointing product and I definitely will not repurchase. If you are looking for a tinted moisturiser with little/no coverage, this would be good, however. It is very lightweight and you barely notice it's there at all.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - EverSleek Intense Smooth Conditioner

I'm really not sure why this product received beauty awards - it doesn't, as it name promises, make your hair sleek. It's a very generic conditioner that seems to wash right off my hair without moisturising it, albeit it does provide some minimal detangling effects. My hair feels exactly the same before and after application of this conditioner. Very unimpressed. My hair became dry and the ends split after about 3 months of usage. Needless to say I will be throwing this away.

Shampoo -Shiseido - Ma Cherie Air Feel Shampoo
schixzotic 1/25/2013 1:46:00 PM
This is a great volumizing shampoo. Very low hair fall. It has a light fruity scent that's reminiscent of passion fruit and comes in a pretty pink packaging. Love it. Most volumising shampoos purport to volumise by stripping your hair of oil so that the static energy causes the hairs to stand a little, and that makes your hair very dry. This shampoo respects the quality and health of hair whilst still giving great volume. I have very little hair (as told to me by all my hairdressers) and this makes me look like I have 1/3 more hair than I actually have!

Conditioner -Shiseido - Ma Cherie Air Feel Conditioner

This product is a godsend for my fine, frizzy hair. It tames my hair and gives it a fantastic shine! The conditioner somehow spreads up the hair and "fills in" the frizzy parts such that it looks and feels healthy and shiny. It mimics exactly the effects of the Syoss Deep Moist Treatment Conditioner, which I have been unable to find since my hairdresser stopped carrying it. It's cheaper too! I ran around with frizzy hair for about 2 months before I finally found this fantastic product. THANK YOU SHISEIDO.

Treatments -Lancome - Visionnaire [LR 2412 4%]

Initially I was very impressed with the product - it delivered on its promises and fixed a lot of my problems, including reducing the appearance of my acne scars. My skin also looked more radiant after a week or so of use. I've been using this product since it was launched (last year? The year before?). My skin seems to have been desensitised to its effects however, and I don't see any marked improvement any more. 1 lippie off for that! As such I would not buy again. However, if it's your first time using it, you should see good results.

Moisturizers -Biotherm - Aquasource Nuit
schixzotic 1/25/2013 1:28:00 PM
This is the best night moisturiser I have used. HG. It melts into your skin and keeps it hydrated all night long. When I wake up, my face is firm and supple, and has that translucent quality that properly hydrated skin should have. Fairly affordable too. I love the gel texture and consistency. My only gripe is that it finishes way too fast!

Moisturizers -Biotherm - Aquasource for Combination Skin
schixzotic 1/25/2013 1:15:00 PM
I was recommended this product by a facialist and I must say it's very suitable for my combination skin. The mousse cleanser is very pleasant and my skin feels clean but not tight after I use it. Nothing spectacular about the toner, it does what every toner should do - prep the skin for moisturiser. The gel moisturiser, however, deserves special mention. It really keeps skin hydrated the whole day! A lot of the redness in my skin disappeared, and I got compliments about how my skin looked more radiant. I note some users have said that it's only good for a summer moisturiser but I disagree. I was in Israel recently for 2 weeks and this worked fine. My skin has never been happier. I've been using this product for 5 months now and have no intention of switching. For the avoidance of doubt, I'm using the GREEN Aquasource series.

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation
schixzotic 11/15/2012 12:09:00 AM
This is a fantastic foundation. It's not my HG - that's still my Kanebo Lunasol foundation after all these years - but this is still a really good foundation nonetheless. It is not as lightweight as the Kanebo foundation, but it does not sit heavily on your skin. It lives up to its "serum" claims as my skin looks healthier after I removed the foundation, a feat which had not been achieved by any other brand but Kanebo thus far. It's dirt cheap and smells really pleasant too. Does not cake during the day, but must be finished with a loose powder as it does not "dry" out. I feel that it looks too shiny for the supposedly dewy look that is in these days, so loose powder is a must. Will definitely buy again. I am rotating this with the Kanebo foundation for cost reasons - my Kanebo foundation costs $85 presently and I find it a little difficult to afford! I have been asked if it's similar to Chanel's Vitalumiere foundation - the honest answer is that I do not like Chanel foundations and have not tried the Vitalumiere foundation, so if I did compare this foundation to a Chanel foundation, it would not be getting 5 stars from me! Coverage wise - I think Bourjois classifies this as a Light Coverage foundation, though I don't really see why. It has a thick enough consistency to cover the minor red marks that I have flawlessly. I would classify it as Medium Coverage. For matching purposes - I am an NC25 and I match Vanille (52). I can use Beige Clair (53) if I want a tanned look.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Warming Treatment
schixzotic 7/22/2012 1:00:00 PM
This product is FANTASTIC. It really warms up to 40 deg C when you rub it on your skin and I can feel all the nasty little blackheads being washed out! The idea is to open your pores a little so that the blackhead eliminating ingredients can go in and dissolve the blackheads (I think). It seems to work for me and is very reasonably priced, so.. HG HG HG!

Moisturizers -Shiseido - White Lucent Brightening Moisturizing Cream
schixzotic 7/22/2012 12:49:00 PM
This is a product that gives me great results the next morning, but I find it a bit too thick for comfort. If you don't mind things that sit heavily on your skin, this is great, please buy. I don't, however, so unfortch will not be buying again.

Moisturizers -Shiseido - The Skincare - Day Protective Moisturizer SPF 15
schixzotic 7/22/2012 12:48:00 PM
I tried this and I was in love. Much more moisturising than the White Lucent range, and cheaper to boot. My HG moisturiser. Keeps my skin lovely and soft the whole day! EDIT (25/1/2013): I have stopped using this product as I find it less effective than Biotherm. Biotherm's cheaper too. However it is nonetheless a good moisturiser.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Nature Republic - Snail Therapy Hydro Gel Mask
schixzotic 7/22/2012 12:46:00 PM
MY HG MASK. I am so glad I pulled up the guts to try it despite its apparently dodgy origins (why would you want snail slime all over your face right?!). But those snails are magic. 25 minutes of this mask and my skin is as smooth as a baby's bottom. Extremely cheap if you get them directly from Korea, but I'm not such how much they would be to import. The mask is a 2-piece type of mask so it will fit anyone (who isn't excessively horse faced lol) very well. I have used Shiseido, Lancome and Shu Uemura masks and this can match the quality of those at a tenth of the price. Highly recommended!

Treatments -Shiseido - White Lucent Brightening Serum
schixzotic 7/22/2012 12:42:00 PM
I know a lot of people love this product, but I didn't feel that it had any extra whitening effect for me. I would caveat that I had been using whitening products for years prior to that so that may not be a fair comment... It's extremely expensive however, and as I'm not seeing any added results I will not be purchasing this again. Have been using this for a year now.

Masks -Laneige - Water Sleeping Pack_EX
schixzotic 7/22/2012 12:39:00 PM
This is a very average product for me. I bought this after reading rave reviews about the product, that my skin would be 10x more hydrated when I woke up after using this. However, I found that there was virtually no difference whether I used this product or not - that is, until I switched to a moisturiser that was not moisturizing enough. The product then performed wonderfully. I have since switched back to my original moisturiser (Shiseido). My conclusion on this product is that, if it works for you, something is wrong with your moisturiser. It probably isn't moisturising enough if you can feel a difference after using this product. Would suggest that you change your moisturiser rather than use this product.

BB Cream -Laneige - Snow BB Cream SPF41 PA++
schixzotic 7/22/2012 12:36:00 PM
An average BB cream. Not worth shelling out the slightly higher price Laneige charges. It's quite thick, and for that reason provides pretty good coverage. What I did like is that although it goes on quite heavy, the feeling "melts" away after about 1 hour. However I still would not purchase this as a daily wear product. I tried this when looking for a gym bag foundation and this didn't cut it. A bit on the expensive side for BB creams methinks, without much value add.
