Treatments -L'Oreal - Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm
scatcat92 5/25/2013 8:07:00 PM
I am a sucker for deep conditioners, so I just had to give this a try. I loved the smell. The packaging was typical for deep conditioners- the tub gets water in it easily so you have to be careful using it in the shower. The texture was a little strange, kind of chunky. The first use revealed no instant results. After several uses, my hair was feeling straw-like, yet heavy. If I used this deep conditioner and then blow dried and styled my hair like usual, my hair was dry and frizzy. My split ends were even more visible after using this! Very strange. Will unfortunately not be repurchasing.
Conditioner -L'Oreal - Advanced Haircare - Total Repair 5

I bought this in hopes of giving life and shine to my damaged, dull hair and split ends. Upon opening, I fell in love with the smell and thick consistency. It felt like a deep conditioner, which I loved. My first use didn't reveal any noticeable results, but I thought I would give it some time to start working. After finishing the bottle, I found that my hair was definitely shinier. However, it still felt dry, and it was unusually frizzy (which was made only worse by the deep conditioning erasing balm; I wrote a separate post about that one). I had high hopes for this conditioner, but I unfortunately will not be repurchasing.
Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Spray & Go Moisturizer

My skin is always a scaly alligator because there is nothing i hate more than greasy, sticky lotion. Enter this magical potion! I spray it on, quickly rub it in, and it's immediately absorbed. It is moisturizing and smells great (I have the yellow bottle that's like wheat oat or something earthy). I have only one complaint, and that's the price. I've only just gotten my first can and I can see myself using it up quickly. I just don't want to be spending eight bucks on a lotion every few weeks (cheap-o!) but I'll just have to get over it because I love it!
Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Matte - Kate Moss 110
scatcat92 3/12/2013 1:02:00 PM
This a creamy, matte pinkish-red lipstick from Rimmel's Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss line. The color is lovely and very bright, but not overpowering or neon. Because it is matte, it does tend to show chapped, dry lips so it is better for spring/summer when lips aren't dried out. It goes on nicely, smells good, and lasts a long time. The color can be built up with layers to a more bright color, or blotted for a subtle color. Precaution- don't apply any (even a small amount) chapstick or lip balm before applying the lipstick, it doesn't go on as nicely and there is no matte effect. Goes on much better with clean, dry lips.
Foundations -Wet 'n' Wild - Coverall Cream Foundation
scatcat92 2/5/2013 12:16:00 PM
This foundation is part of a new wet 'n' wild product line, along with a concealer stick, concealer wand, and a pressed powder. The foundation is very creamy, it almost feels like a BB cream. It offers natural looking, medium coverage. There were about 7 different shades, the shade light pale (817) is a match for me. I put two layers on which offers great coverage but does not cake. It has a very subtle smell that is plasticy, but it goes away after it dries a bit. The makeup color applied nicely, but turned a muddy, gray color by the end of the day and it did not last more than a few hours.
I love the original formula carmex products, either from the tube or in the lip blam pot. They are ultra moisutrizing and espicially great for cracking, dry lips. For those of you who get eczema around your lips, these products help a great deal! It soothes the itchy feeling and helps the inflamation.
I love this. I was looking for a deep red, since I have a few pinky reds and orange/coral reds. I was able to look inside the tube and see the actual color since the top of the cap is clear (brilliant!). It's perfectly matte, but not dry.
I recently posted a review of L.A. Colors liquid liner, which I like very much, except one thing- the brush is very LONG. The bristles are very thin, which is what I look for, but they were just too long to handle. So I picked up wet 'n' wild, which has a much shorter brush, and I'm quite happy with it. Easier to handle, long lasting, doesn't flake, cheap.
This formula is thick, almost like a creme foundation. People complain about the spatula applicator, but I like it! I finished with powder, simply because I like a dry, matte look, but it's certainly not necessary. Because I use powder, I haven't had a problem with oxidizing, so I can't really comment. I do like it, will repurchase, and it's at a great price.
Concealers -Pixi - Correction Concentrate- Brightening Peach

I have dark circles and this covers them really well. It dries out a bit throughout the day, so I am sure to apply moisturizer before I apply the concealer. The package is small, but you don't need much so it lasts quite a long time. I don't apply too much, as it can cake up. I'm only 20 years old, but I have wrinkly under eyes, and makeup settles into my lines. This is okay if I don't put on too much and then follow up with foundation.
Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation

I wanted to love this foundation, but it just didn't work for me. It smells so nice and the color match was perfect for my skin. It covers really well, but the formula is very greasy and shiny. Even though I applied powder on top, my face felt sticky for hours. At the end of the day, I would look in the mirror in horror, the makeup caked and creased really badly, and settled into any lines I have. It's a shame, but I just can't use it anymore.
I generally like this product. It leaves my hair feeling smooth and very soft. I have used it for about a year now and I haven't noticed a marked difference in split ends or strength, but my hair is definitely smooth and softer when I use this. The only issue is that I have a weird problem with coconut scented things (car scents, air fresheners etc) because they smell like buttered popcorn to me. Strange. So i usually use the deep conditioner first, and then wash and condition after to avoid the smell.
Powder -Maybelline - Mineral Power Powder Foundation
scatcat92 9/21/2012 9:40:00 PM
This was a bittersweet experience for me. With dark circles, I look for a foundation that can cover well without the use of concealer (I'm only twenty but the lines around my eyes crease very badly). So I tried this on it's own and the immediate coverage was not enough without over applying. So i applied a small amount of liquid or mousse foundation first, and the result was perfect. Nice coverage but not too cakey. Unfortunately, the makeup oxidizes very quickly, turning orangey and flakey. The same thing happened regardless of the foundation or primer I wore under it, so I won't be purchasing again.
I really like this lip product. It's a cross between a gloss and a lip balm- perfect for me. Not too sticky or glossy. It comes in great shades (this fall I'm wearing the shades cinnamon and spice) and you don't need to put it on with the precision like you would a sharp lipstick. I can sweep some on throughout the day without a mirror, it's like a prettier version of a chapstick. Love it
Loose Powders -Maybelline - Shine Free Oil Control Loose Powder
scatcat92 6/15/2012 9:00:00 AM
I like loose powders, but I hate when they are packaged like this: the lid is not secure and can easily slide off in your make up bag. I usually keep them in a ziploc inside my make up just in case. I was really looking forward to this powder because I love and rely on Maybelline. Their colors usually match my skin pretty well. I bought the light shade, and was disappointed. It appears very yellow in the packaging. Once it's applied to my skin, it's not as obviously yellow but it has a strange yellow cast to it. I wouldn't buy it again unfortunately.
