Eyes -Stila - Kitten Smudgepot
sbgitana 11/27/2011 8:40:00 PM
Stila Smudgepot in Kitten Texture: Like others, I found this product difficult to work with. It is a bit dryer than I expected, not as creamy as MAC paint pots although I had heard that from pinkiecharm on Youtube. I used both my fingers then a brush and with and without a primer. Sometimes it went on smooth other times it looked cakey. Color: Pretty pink champagne color, however too much pink for me.

To be honest, it might be that the rust color just does not look good on me: like my eyelid is irritated? Returning to Ulta. No likey.

Eyeliner -Sephora - Jumbo Eye Pencil - 502 Beige
sbgitana 11/25/2011 11:06:00 PM
Sephora Jumbo Eye Pencil 502 Beige I've been looking for THE eye product for a shimmery champagne eye: beautiful combination of beige/pink with shimmer not too much glitter AND ideally inexpensive. I wanted it to glide on easily, stay on and not have to scrub the skin to get it off at the end of the day. Did something exist that met those conditions? I tried: Stila's Kitten (beautiful beige/pink a bit pricey), Urban Decay's jumbo pencil in Midnight Cowboy (beautiful beige/pink but bigger chunks of glitter) and also Mac's Naked Pigment (beautiful beige/pink but needs another product such as a creme base to stick to) and NYX jumbo pencil in yogurt (more pink than beige to create a champagne tone and not the ideal texture/lasting power). I forget what inspired me to look at Sephora's Jumbo pencil, I think I saw a Youtube guru use one in her video, and picked up this beige one. Eureka: I found what I was looking for. Love it.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks - Calypso Coral
sbgitana 10/27/2011 6:28:00 PM
I've been looking for a beautiful coral color in a creme blush. This was it: it was lasting, has a nice smell (not all creme blushes do!) and a great texture.

Mascara -Jane Iredale - mascara
sbgitana 10/10/2011 10:46:00 PM
Jane Iredale mascara While I'm just starting to try her products and love the concept of makeup good for your skin: this product got a thumbs down from me. Here's what I liked: - Nice, classy packaging - No harsh chemicals/parabens - Washes off easily Here's what I didn't like: - Did not seem to really lengthen or volumize very much. - Didn't hold a curl well. My lashes quickly started to droop. - Smudged off on my under eyes easily I agree with the reviewer who said: "A mascara needs to hold a curl well and needs to stay on without smudging or flaking for a long time" Sorry, being less chemical-filled is not enough for me.

This scent also gave me a headache, my eyes almost started watering. There is a particular pungent scent in it that reminds me of older ladies beauty shops with that horrible perm smell.

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
sbgitana 10/5/2011 2:33:00 AM
Excellent primer. Cheap, great packaging. For a week now I've been using UDPP on my right eye and this ELF prime on the left. The results are the same. When my UDPP runs out, I'll just buy ELF.

Eye Shadow -Sonia Kashuk - Eye on Fall Palette
sbgitana 10/3/2011 2:51:00 AM
Review of Sonia Kashuk's Eye on Fall Palette I'll will write more on this product shortly but for now I wanted to share the MAC dupes I found for this palette. Please bare in mind that some are exact dupes and others come quite close, for me to go into detail of each would require a video. In the Eye on Fall Palette the colors are not named, but they are numbered. 1 and 2. together equal All that Glitters 3. Satin taupe 4. Greensmoke 5 and 6: Both of these are the almost identical purple, perhaps 6 is a tad darker. Fig 1 7. I couldn't pick up any color at all, I'm hoping to either return this palette or find a friend who has it so I can test color #7. 8. Antiqued 9. Trax 10. Sumptous olive 11. Sparkle, Neely Sparkle! 12. Cork Great palette with a variety of shades.

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Non-Stop Eye Color -- Butternut
sbgitana 10/2/2011 8:15:00 PM
Wet 'n' Wild Color Icon trio E.L.F. Butternut Quad ** A perfect dupe for MAC Woodwinked ** Bought at: Target Colors: There are 4 colors all with a shimmer: a light vanilla, apricot shade, deep pewter/mauve color and am gorgeous bronze shade. The bronze like shade is a perfect dupe for MAC Woodwinked. And the darker brown is a close second to MAC Embark. The peach shade (although not very pigmented) a close runner up to MAC Jest and the beige shade is a less-white version of MAC Nylon. I would buy this quad (for a dollar!) to get the Woodwinked dupe alone. It is a fantastic color: bronzey without being brassy. Perfecto. Pigmentation: I have found with E.L.F. products where they offer more than one shade (in a duo/quad/trio) you can get one color barely pigmented and the rest with a good color pay off. The two lighter shades are not very pigmented. The product is a bit powdery with some fall out, so make sure and tap off excess. Packaging: Small and compact. The plastic does feel a bit flimsy though. Small applicator included. Finish: Easy to blend. Performance: I used UDPP and the colors seemed to last all day. Very pleased. My rating scale is: EXCELLENT, GOOD, FAIR AND POOR My rating is GOOD for this product. The reason I did not rate it EXCELLENT is because 2 out of the 4 colors had poor color pay off. But I would buy it again just to get the Woodwink dupe.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Sof' Feet Softening Cream
sbgitana 10/2/2011 7:55:00 PM
Review of Sof' Feet Softening Cream Since this was offered when I bought the Sof Feet Callus Reducer (which I HIGHLY recommend you can read my review for it.) I thought I would try it out. Texture: Thick almost putty or waxy but also tacky texture. Hard to describe, like thick Crisco? I guess to optimize absorption for rough skin. Don't like the texture at all. Application: I used this after the Sof' Feet Callus Reducer, at night. I think it would be way to greasy during the day use. Odor: Clean scent. Packaging: In a plastic tub. Cost: Mid cost. Bought on: Amazon Finish/Performance: To be honest I don't think it made a huge difference. If you used this alone and had rough feet (without the Callus Reducer) I don't think it would really make a huge difference. The star baby is really the Sof' Feet Callus Reducer and this is a bit of the frosting on top. My rating scale is: EXCELLENT, GOOD, FAIR AND POOR Overall rating for this product: GOOD.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Sof' Feet Callus Reducer
sbgitana 10/2/2011 7:35:00 PM
Review of Sof' Feet Callus Reducer This product really should be called the Sof' Feet Callus Eliminator. I've had rough heels for years and even getting pedicures wouldn't always ensure soft feet, especially around my heels. If you want silky, smooth heels (and what gal or guy doesn't?) get this inexpensive tool. This is a plastic handled device and on the end is a small wire mesh, similar to a screen on a window. You can remove it if you need to replace it. This little product has easily saved me tons of money because I don't go to get pedicures anymore.
