Treatments -L'Oreal - EverCreme Nourishing Leave In Spray
savliving 9/8/2012 10:38:00 PM
I have been using this leave in since January. My hair is fine and I have a ton. The roots are oily and the ends are dry. I need a leave in and amodimethicone being the heavest silicone used is a must. Also I don't want protein. This leave in is awesome at doing its job. I loathe the smell though.
Powder -Shu Uemura - Face Architect Glow Enhancing Powder Foundation SPF26

I love this powder foundation so far. I have been using it almost daily for the last month. I finally found a job and I have to walk to work so the extra protection is perfect. I am walking to work in the GA humidity with no make up coming off my face. Of course the silicone in my SS is to thank for that. Anyway this wears well over my sunscreens. I use one with the same actives so no destabilizing. This replaces my beloved Shiseido powdery and it is a decent amount of product. It just drives me insane that it takes 2 weeks to get here! Also customers constantly comment on my skin. Am I wearing make up? I do take great care of it, but this powder really evens and brightens my skintone very well. 5/31/12 Update. Still using this powder foundation. I ordered a refill on the 18th with a free ship code and it got here on the 30th. I'll continue to use this as long as it's available. 11/25/2012 I hit pan on my refill of this. Have a 3rd waiting to be opened. I really love this powder foundation. It even wears well when I wear no sunscreen or moisturizer. 4/29/2013 And of course now it's discontinued. But at least Shiseido Powdery is back!
I have purchased this toner twice now. I mainly use it at night before tretinoin gel. I also used under tazorac. Niacinamide does awesome things for my skin. I tried Cerave PM only to breakout and EltaMD Clear broke me out. I really wanted niacinamide in my skincare and this fits so well. I know I could make my own but honestly I like this stuff so much to keep purchasing. The clarity of my skin is great with this toner and the anti-inflammatory properties are nice as well. Will update if anything changes. 1/5/12 I wanted to add a note about the nice customer service as well. My bottle had a defect in the cork and they replaced it with no issues on the spot.
Loose Powders -La Mer - Skincolor De La Mer - The Powder - Poudre de La Mer

This powder literally makes my skin look angelic. Not just mine, but whoever I use it on. I must say though that sharing it is difficult. The tub is huge, but at least I know it's sturdy. I have had mine for years. It looks so good on it's own, this crazy soft focus finish.
Hair -Unlisted Brand - Christophe Robin Creme Lavante au Citron

I love this cleansing creme. WEN weighed my hair down too much when I tried it years ago and I've been on the lookout for another one. The ingredients are nice on this plus there are no cones, proteins, or sulphates. Perfect for my hair, especially when just dyed. My hair doesn't need any wash out conditioner with this product. It is also doesn't weigh down my fine, oily hair with dry ends. My scalp has been pretty flaky lately and this doesn't exacerbate the issue. For me, this is what WEN wishes it was. The only issue here for me as well is the price. Ouch. It will last a while though. Update: 10/01/11 I just ordered another jar of this with a code from BeautyHabit so definately a repurchase.
Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Devita Daily Solar Protective Moisturizer spf 30

I adore the cosmetic elegance of this product but it offers me no sun protection. I have tried even when it's cloudy and have gotten pink. I bought 2 different formulas and neither worked better than the other. edit 8/19/11- I wanted to give this ss another try since I would be inside most of the week. It was a mistake. Clogged pores everywhere and a weird film on my face after it dried. Just not for me at all.
Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Denorex Extra Strength 2-in-1
savliving 7/24/2011 9:44:00 AM
I tried this because of seeing J's review and board posts. I love this stuff so much. I have only used it for 3 weeks but will update if there are any changes. In the nasty south Georgia humidity this shampoo is a life saver. The cooling menthol is awesome for such hot days and just in general. I also love the no sulfates or proteins. Even though this is 2 in 1, I still use a conditioner. The 3% BHA is also great for my flaky and itchy scalp. I also can go 2-3 days without needing to shampoo even after working out in the terrible heat daily. So far I love this stuff. Update 10/2/11 I still use this almost every shampoo. I have to break it up because my hair will get weighed down. The peg-dimethicone in here really weighs my super fine hair down. So I can only use this shampoo now maybe once, twice a week at most. 1/01/13 I no longer use this shampoo on my hair because it weighed my hair down so much but I love using this to wash and shave my armpits. I have really sensitive skin in that region and the menthol is cooling, the BHA helps to exfoliate, so no harm done and I can get rid of the product!
Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Rosemary Mint Shampoo
savliving 7/11/2011 8:49:00 AM
I like this shampoo. It has only SLES, no cones, and no protein. My hair needs sulphates and this works well. My scalp is oily and my hair is dry on the ends. I use GVP conditioning balm on my ends and my hair is in great condition. This also hasn't faded my dark brown demi color. I'm almost finished with my bottle and will be buying another. 12/21/11- Can only use this in the summer for sure.
Moisturizers -Olay - Complete Moisture Cream Sensitive SPF 15
savliving 7/1/2011 3:17:00 PM
I really adore this sunscreen. I need a combo of an ss and moisturizer. At night I alternate between retin a gel and PC BHA 2% as needed, so an everyday sunscreen is a must. The zinc is a plus as well. I live in the humidity of south Georgia and this doesn't sweat off. I sweat just walking out the front door here so that is a must. Of course during the summer I need more protection some days, but this is awesome. I usually apply a hydrator before applying but otherwise everything is so simple with this guy. And I finally started family and friends on this product as well. There is usually always a deal on this somewhere as well.
Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Nu Fountain C10 Vitamin C Serum
savliving 7/1/2011 3:08:00 PM
I absolutely love this stuff and feel like such a fool for never introducing topical vitamin c to my skincare. I am halfway through my second bottle and will surely be purchasing a 3rd. The clarity of my skin is amazing. Even if I'm broken out my skin still looks fresh. Sometimes it seems to good to be true. I have to note that I also take ester c vitamins daily for protection from the inside out. I don't really think I need the 20% with the outstanding results I receive from the 10%. Will update if anything changes! UPDATE: I did reduce the amount of times I use this to every 2-3 days. Too much causes some irritation. I also store this in the door of my mini fridge and it has kept much longer. 11/1/11 I now apply my vitamin C at night. Love it this way! I have repurchased multiple times and am very happy with the results. I love the benefits of vitamin C and this is so very affordable. I also want to add that I am not using C to rid of any freckles or spots. I love my freckles. It's more for collagen, antioxidant, and clarity. Update 7/19/2012 I still use this concentration. Have to use it more often because of my job and being in the sun. My only complaint is it turns my palms orange. 4/29/2013 Still using every couple nights with my BHA. Love it
Powder -Dolce & Gabbana - Perfect Finish Powder Foundation
savliving 6/11/2011 7:40:00 AM
I love this powder foundation. I have tried many powder foundations from La Mer to the dollar store. This one is the top 3 for sure. It photographs well and doesn't dry out my skin. The finish can be cakey if you pile it on, but that is to be expected. This will definitely replace my La Mer powder foundation for when I want the luxury.
Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Generic Value Products GVP Conditioning Balm
savliving 4/20/2011 2:24:00 PM
I love this stuff. I kinda leaned toward the Biolage balm but for this price and since the balm has been reformulated, this wins. I always combine this conditioner with Aura cherry almond bark(for slip, and even more conditioning) for a protein free treat and usually airdry. The results are always nice. The summer months are upon us so I will update if anything goes awry in the crazy southern humidity, but I have faith in this charm! update 9/14/11 This worked great through the summer. I love it on its own as well. It is a staple.
Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
savliving 4/20/2011 2:18:00 PM
I do not use coconut oil for a cleanser at all. And the only reason I am giving it 5 lippies is because it is amazing at removing hair color which was the intention at the time. I figured instead of using something harsh to wash the color away I would condition the crap out of it. And it worked! I also used olive oil and of course sulfates to remove, but the results were great.
I have owned this brush since 2005 when I went on Trish brush spree. I love it so much. The only other brush I will use for my crease is the stila brush. But back to this one. It is so soft, durable, deposits color well, and is just a dream come true. I will never be without it and should I happen to lose this one I will replace it ASAP.
I remember using this stuff years ago and it was a staple, but I was a teenager. My hair is very fine, oily and sweaty roots, dry ends. I use the CWC method. I use this and the GVP from sally's. My thing is to mix this co with aura cherry almond bark. That way I have more slip and it's a protein and cone free combo that always feels so silky when rinsed and after. I mostly airdry and my hair dries so nicely with this combination. I am so upset aura cherry almond bark is being discontinued but that is another review. My SO has thick and wavy hair that loves this co as well. update: 4/16/11 This has a new formula, looks like I'll be sticking with the GVP.
