Moisturizers -Christian Dior - Capture Totale Ritual Nuit

Wow. I received this as a tiny sample when I ordered some makeup and skincare online. I never really knew what to do with it and I was afraid the anti-aging properties would mess with my acne prone skin so it just lay around for months. I am in my 20s and don't really need anti-aging products for my face just yet, but I recently developed a strange mottled dark patch of skin on my arm (possibly a sunspot from the intense amount sun exposure my arms get while horseback riding despite the sunscreen I slather on) and decided to try this stuff on it. Boy, I should have taken before and after pictures! Before I tried this stuff I was worried that dark spot would linger forever, however, Dior Nuit COMPLETELY got rid of it in a matter of DAYS! (3 days to be exact). I put it on the first night as an experiment not expecting any results, but when I woke in the morning I realized that the spot was significantly lighter so I continued to put it on at night for two more nights till the spot was gone. This product seems to be a powerful exfoliator, encouraging the removal of the top layer of skin that had the dark spot and doing what my exfoliating in the shower could not. I can't give a completely accurate review of this product because I did not use it on my face as you are supposed to, but I would purchase the full size product if I had the money simply because it was extremely effective. I am impressed.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara

Would I buy this product again? Hell no. This was one of the first mascaras I ever got. Mostly because it was raved about and featured in literally EVERY magazine. People (and the magazines) would just go on and on about it: "It's the greatest mascara in the world," "Every makeup artist uses THIS mascara. Blah blah blah blah," ad nauseam. This must be one of the most overhyped beauty products EVER. It is so incredibly runny, gets everywhere, doesn't last, doesn't do half of what a decent mascara is supposed to and just is an altogether ridiculously ineffectual product. Someone could honestly do a study about marketing and women based solely on this product.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Beauty Tubes

I've just recently decided this is my HG mascara. I actually had a friend comment on how long my lashes were looking the second day I had this stuff on. I have never had the length of my lashes be a topic of conversation. I have tried tons of different drugstore mascaras and some foreign ones as well. The plastic wands which seem so popular nowadays in drugstore mascaras don't work for me at all. I hate them. So I'm very glad this has what I'd call a "normal" bristled wand at both ends. If anyone has tried Gokubuto mascara by the Japanese brand Canmake this product is quite similar to that, I think, but L'oreal's mascara is much more lengthening. The application is pretty simple, first the white then the black, and mascara doesn't get all over the place when I poke myself in the eye during application or create raccoon eyes when I inevitably rub my eyes halfway through the day. At the end of the day the mascara tubes slide off quite easily while in the shower, but don't come off well at all in cold water. I would recommend gently rubbing the lashes off while your eyes are closed in a warm shower instead of trying to pull them off. Pulling these can pull out your own lashes and no one wants sparse lashes.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Ultra gentle soothing lotion SPF 15
satouame 6/20/2012 3:25:00 AM
I had to return this product. I was expecting to love it as a replacement for my normal Olay Complete all day UV moisturizer SPF15 for sensitive skin which is running out. I knew it would be scented because it says so straight out, but I did not expect the fragrance to be so strong or so awful. It was irritating before I even put it on my face. How can a scent that strong be "uniquely developed for sensitive skin." Not worth the $16 dollars at all.
