Cleansers -LUSH - Ultrabland

I am officially a convert. I must be on my 5th tub of this stuff. At first I thought it was too greasy for my acne-prone skin, but it hasn't broke me out, it leaves me skin slightly moisturised and its soo gentle it's one of few products that my skin doesn't react to. I use it morning and evening and some days can go without moisturiser if my skin is playing up. I even use this on a couple of eczema patches I have on my face and I've had the best results so far of all the creams I've tried. The only downfall is that it isn't great at getting waterproof mascara off, but as I don't often wear mascara it's not an issue for me. Definitely a staple in my skincare regime.

Treatments -Decleor - Aromessence Ylang Ylang
rated 5 of 5

I have been using both the ylang ylang aromessence oil and night balm for just over a month now. I have to say that I love them. At first I did notice I seemed to be getting more spots but they would also dry up and clear quicker than normal. These feel and smell really luxurious and I love using them. I have combination - dry - sensitive - acne prone skin and didn't know if these products would work on all those issues but they have. My skin looks healthy and clear. Both products are really expensive and I probably wouldn't have bought them if I didn't find them cheaper on ebay, but a little does go a long way. I have barely used a fifth of the balm so it should last a while, although the oil does go down quicker. They are something to treat yourself with.

Moisturizers -Nivea - rich moisturizing day cream
rated 4 of 5

I have dabbled with a few different moisturisers over my time, mainly because I have dry skin with an oily T-zone and spot prone chin, so can never find just 1 product that works. I started using this moisturiser when I was about 13 and it worked great as I had dry skin then, but as my skin changed so did the products, however I always seem to come back to this 1 whenever I get really dry areas. It seems to be less greasy than it used to be and has spf 15 in it now. All in all a great, cheap product thats reliable.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Heliocare - Extreme 50 UVA/UVB Gel
rated 5 of 5
sassiko 8/12/2012 8:31:00 AM

Unfortunately I love this product. It is lightly moisturising, has a high SPF and doesn't break me out. It actually leaves a nice dewy finish. The problem is it costs £18.50!!!!! which makes me cry every time I debate purchasing it again.

Masks -LUSH - The Sacred Truth biofresh mask

I think this product really dried out areas on my face that were susceptible to dryness to the point of flaking. On the rest of my face I didn't notice any real difference.

Concealers -Too Faced - Absolutely Flawless Concealer
rated 4 of 5
sassiko 7/17/2012 10:35:00 AM

This is a pretty good concealer (I have tried most). I use concealers for my under-eye area and as this has an iridescent sheen to it, it works quite nicely. The colours are pretty limited and I have to add a slightly lighter concealer to the medium to get the right shade. The price is also a bit steep at £16.50.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Body Scrub

This is a good scrub. I do tend to use a lot for my whole body and so it doesn't last too long, but in general a nice body scrub.

Moisturizers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Rejuvenating Oil-Free Moisturizer
rated 2 of 5
sassiko 6/3/2012 8:27:00 AM

I really like this product for a daytime moisturiser - the only problem is I have to wear a separate SPF over it. It leaves my skin soft and hydrated but it hasn't broken me out, as I have acne-prone skin. On really dry areas like my nose I do wear a thicker moisturiser but I wouldn't expect an oil-free moisturiser to work on really dry patches - its very good for an oil free moisturiser though. EDIT: Unfortunately this product has been re-formulated. This was one of the few oil-free moisturisers I had found that actually hydrated my skin. I believe this was due to the hyaluronic acid, which is an ingredient they have now removed, and so this falls on the pile of oil-free moisturisers that don't moisturise!

Masks -LUSH - Oatifix Fresh Mask
rated 4 of 5
sassiko 5/23/2012 4:08:00 PM

So my skin was freaking out - dry sensitive patches, spots, oily T zone - the lot. Went into Lush for some serious skincare overhaul - I've been using Ultrabland and Oatifix at night and Fresh Farmacy in the morning and Celestial morning and night for the past 3 days. So far, so good, my skin seems to be calming down and balancing out. The Ultrabland, Oatifix and Celestial have really hydrated my skin and I've had no reaction to them. I do get a slight reaction to Fresh Farmacy, which is no surprise as its a soap, however I'm using it to sort out the spots and will now alternate it with Angels on Bare Skin until the spots are gone and then it'll pretty much be there solely when the spots get outta hand. Oatifix feels and smells great. It hydrates but doesn't leave my skin oily. I'm glad this worked as I've tried Cosmetic Warrior and it made my skin worse - sore and spotty. I do think it's a bit cheeky that the pots are sold with far too much product that doesn't get used up before the use by date. I have used the mask 3 days straight and there are at least another 5-6 uses still there, however I would normally use a face mask once or twice a week (it's only because my skin was soooo bad that I've been using it more frequently) in which case I would barely use any of the contents. This seems to be an issue with a lot of people and it would make more sense to sell the masks in a smaller amount.

Shampoo -LUSH - Squeaky Green
rated 4 of 5
sassiko 5/8/2012 12:46:00 PM

I may be writing this review a little too soon but at the moment I really like this shampoo. I was recommended it by the LUSH sales assistant because I suffer with an itchy scalp and this has really helped - it hasn't cured the problem but using it on the days between when I use a medicated shampoo this doesn't aggravate the condition. It also leaves my hair feeling soft and looking shiny. I like the scent of the product too. I like the idea of the solid shampoo bar but you have to make sure it is left to air dry and doesn't get wet between shampoos otherwise it turns into a gloopy mess.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Skin Food
rated 4 of 5
sassiko 3/14/2012 11:14:00 AM

I was recommended this product by a friend who has oily skin. I have combination/ acne-prone skin. I only use this as a night cream as it is very thick and greasy. I was surprised that in the morning my skin was soft and matt. I do like this product but I am still slightly apprehensive about the alcohol content as I tend to avoid products with high if any alcohol. The tube has lasted me about 3 months so its not bad value for money.

Cleansers -Elemis - Pro Radiance Cream Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
sassiko 3/14/2012 11:08:00 AM

This is the best cream cleanser I have ever used. I have combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin - this cleanser does not irritate my skin whatsoever, it thoroughly cleanses removing all make up even waterproof mascara, and it leaves my skin soft and not dry or tight. It does cost a lot ~£27.50 but it is one indulgence I refuse to give up as it's just so effective.
