Primer/ Corrector -Neutrogena - Shine Control Primer
sas328 5/16/2013 6:05:00 PM
I'm relatively new with primers. I used to use Smashbox but that was back when my mom would buy it for me, now my post-grad salary doesn't really allow for that! But I wanted to try a primer, and my skin tends to get oily through the day, so I snatched this up at my recent trip to Target. I put it on after my Neutrogena moisturizer and then applied my makeup as normal...at 6:30 this morning. It's now 6:02 and my makeup is still flawless! I do have a bit of oil, but it's definitely not as bad as it could be. I've never looked this good almost 12 hours after applying makeup!! Since this is my first time using, I'm not sure if it'll cause breakouts or not, but I have prescription strength benzoyl peroxide so I'm not really worried about it. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive primer that you can pick up most places, definitely go with this one! I'm going out this evening and I'm almost tempted to just keep my makeup on from this morning!

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
sas328 8/3/2012 9:37:00 PM
I have a love/hate relationship with Pro Activ. I think with moderate acne, it does help. However, I've been using it before bed (and in the morning on days I think I need it) for like four or five years and my face tends to freak out if it goes too many days without using it. I went a week without using it before bed and I got really bad breakouts. I think your skin gets way too dependent on this stuff. I think now I use it out of habit. I've gotten prescription medicines that have helped so much better than this.

Bronzers -Sonia Kashuk - Loose Powder Bronzer -Golden
sas328 8/3/2012 9:34:00 PM
I've been using this bronzer for quite a while. I love it! Since it's a loose powder you can easily tweak how much you want to put on. It works in the winter or the summer. If you're really pale, mix it with some light powder to get a lighter look! I think it looks great, but I definitely recommend using a big brush to apply it, do not use the applicator it comes with! A lot of people are complaining about the glitter but I really don't think it's that bad. The only problem I have is that I wish there was a feature that could cover up the holes (like bare minerals) because when I travel with this, a lot of it falls out when you open the lid! Other than sometimes being a mess, it's my favorite bronzer and is a good price.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
sas328 8/3/2012 9:31:00 PM
After hearing about this blush for years, I finally tried some of a friend's last summer. I absolutely loved it! I can get pretty tan in the summer, and also pretty fair in the winter, so it's hard to find a blush that can actually be used for both without looking fake or cheap. It's a bit pricy but a little goes a long way so it definitely lasts a while. I apply my bronzer first before putting on my blush so it blends even better. If you're looking for a little break on price though, Too Faced makes a blush in a color called Poppy that's seriously EXACTLY the same, but about $10 cheaper.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
sas328 8/3/2012 9:28:00 PM
I've been using this for about four or five years and I have yet to switch to another mascara. I was struggling finding something that made my lashes look great. I have pretty full eye lashes but they aren't very long. When this came out I tried it and it works wonders! Though I love shopping at Sephora, I always buy this mascara from the drug store. tip - i apply slowly and lightly until i'm happy with how full my lashes look.

Shampoo -John Frieda - Sheer Blonde Highlighting Shampoo
sas328 8/3/2012 9:24:00 PM
I love this shampoo! I have naturally light brown hair which I have highlighted. I was using Pantene for a few weeks after getting highlights and noticed that it seriously dulled my highlights. So I found this John Frieda highlight enhancing shampoo and decided to try it. Seriously after a shower or two my highlights were bright again and I got so many compliments! Now that I always have highlights this is definitely my go-to shampoo. Especially if my highlights are feeling a little dull. I recommend it to everyone.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Duac Topical Gel
sas328 6/28/2012 11:33:00 AM
After only a week with Duac I LOVE this product. I always had relatively good skin, the occasional annoying pimple but nothing crazy (I used proactiv for several years to keep it clear) Then right before my college graduation two months ago I started getting a lot of those cystic painful pimples on my cheek and forehead. I tried EVERYTHING. ACV, toothpaste, aspirin, honey, tea tree oil. Nothing was really helping and I got pretty depressed. I couldn't figure out why at 22 I was breaking out. So I caved and made a dermatologist appointment and they prescribed me Oracea and Duac. This was a week ago and Duac is already working wonders!! I woke up two days ago with a painful large pimple on my cheek and after two days of morning and night use, it's 98% gone! I also had some painful ones on my forehead that are really reduced. I'm so happy and hope I keep seeing results!! A tip, before bed after applying the Duac I put on the Proactive Refining Mask on top of them as added spot treatment for stubborn pimples.
