Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Super Liner
sarahmcqueen 9/15/2012 2:57:00 PM
I'm reviewing the pen form of this eyeliner. I bought the Revlon Colorstay pen eyeliner first which was absolutely horrible. I then got this as a replacement and I'm so glad I did, it's brilliant. I fell asleep on a long car journey (3+ hours) and when I woke up it was still perfect. So easy to apply, lasts forever and is a really intense black. Amazing product.

Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen

I wanted a pen liner and bought this without reading reviews. What a waste of money. It has zero staying power, and the color is practically transparent - it also smudges off if you go over it more than once. Bought the L'oreal Super Liner pen as a replacement which is AMAZING. Definitely recommend that if you're looking for a pen.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Medium/Dark
sarahmcqueen 7/3/2012 12:26:00 PM
I actually got this as an exchange when returning mineralize skin finish natural in medium which looked really pink on me. They didn't have the light-plus shade in msfn which I read is better suited to my skin tone (NC20-25), so I went for blot powder instead. SO GLAD that I did. I live in 40C (over 100F) heat and humidity and I have very oily skin as it is. This is an absolute godsend. I wear it on it's own over my moisturizer with a bit of blush. I got it in medium/dark. This shade looks great on me, and even though it doesn't deposit much color onto the skin it somehow evens me out and makes me look about 5 years younger and really fresh. It doesn't dry my skin out or cause flakiness, even though I use it over a hardcore oil-control moisturizer (which wasn't doing the job on it's own - that's how oily I am). It also blurs out my massive pores. It's truly amazing and I absolutely recommend it to anyone with oily skin.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector

I have very dark circles. This works well to disguise them but by no means makes them disappear. It does settle a bit into my fine lines, but doesn't crease like the creamy concealer does, so a lot of the time I just end up using it alone. It's not perfect but it's the best I've found so far. If you're wondering whether to by this, the concealer, or both, I'd say buy this but look for a different concealer.

Moisturizers -Olay - Total Effects Night Firming Cream

I've only used this for 2 weeks so can't comment on whether it has improved my fine lines. I love the smell and consistency - it's really thick and moisturising. It's just unfortunate that since I've been using it my skin has started breaking out (whiteheads) so I'm going to have to stop and look for an alternative.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Creamy Concealer
sarahmcqueen 6/22/2012 9:45:00 AM
This creases SO BADLY! I use it with the corrector and no matter how thinly I apply it always creases. I can't set it with powder as it ends up exaggerating my fine lines. It only covers my circles if I layer it on quite thick, but then it stays wet and if anything touches it it will leave a mark or stick to it e.g. a fingerprint, an eyelash etc. Not worth what it costs.

Liquid -MAC - Select SPF 15 Foundation
sarahmcqueen 6/22/2012 9:38:00 AM
This is honestly the worst foundation I've ever owned. It streaks no matter what I use to put it on (fingers, palms, wet beauty blender, dry beauty blender, brushes), and emphasizes everything bad on my face. It's horrible. I wish I could rate this a zero.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup

I've tried about 5 different shades and they all end up looking pink/orange on me. I have this problem with Estee Lauder foundations too, I don't know why. For reference I'm 120 in MUFE and NC20/25 in MAC. It's also a nightmare to take off, and gets really messy as there's no pump. Other than that it blends ok and doesn't look cakey unless you really pile it on.

Concealers -Garnier - Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller
sarahmcqueen 6/22/2012 9:31:00 AM
I have very dark circles. This doesn't cover them at all. The light shade just made my circles look REALLY ashy (even my husband asked why I had "put grey stuff" under my eyes!), and medium was too dark. It also exaggerated every little fine line under my eyes. I tried it over my Bobbi Brown corrector but it looked horrible. As a last ditch attempt I tried to use it as a highlighter on the bridge of my nose and cheekbones instead, as it does seem to have some sort of brightening quality to it, but it broke me out after a few days.

Polishes -Inglot - Nail Enamel
sarahmcqueen 6/22/2012 9:19:00 AM
This chips off at the tips of my nails after one day no matter what. I've tried using it with different base and top coats as well as alone, but it always chips. It's such a shame because the colour (944) is absolutely beautiful - it's the perfect orange-red that I'd been searching for for months. It also goes on like a charm and dries really quickly, and isn't thick and gloopy like other brands I've tried. Really upset that it chips so badly :(
