waste of money. i have a brush already that does a much better job, doesnt hurt, doesnt scratch the scalp, and is actually easy to hold because it has - genuis! - a handle! who designed this thing? its not remotely ergonomic, and is easily dropped. this thing is absolutely no good for my very thick and long hair. dont get all the rave reviews, at all. i guess the brush i already have isnt owned by many people

Misc Beauty Tools -Shiseido - Eyelash Curler
rated 2 of 5

i have a mister mascara (red and black) curler which is way better than this, at probably no more than a third of the price. where to start? this curler is much heavier, doesnt have a spring action, it has a shallower opening for your lashes (making it tricky to 'corale' the lashes in to place), its less comfortable to hold having said that, it does seem to give a longer lasting curl. overall, not worth the money

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Gold Label

omgosh i love this stuff! truly an all-in-one wonder! (and boy have i shpped around for bb creams). i dont even really need anything on top, but do add a teeny bit of concealer and powder if i am going out. just be careful to not overdose when you press the dispenser - way too much comes out. start with half a dose and add more as necessary. seriously, why do women cover their faces in foundation when you get all the coverage (for the average face) you need?! AND other benefits that foundation doesnt provide, to boot. beats me!

Moisturizers -DHC - Olive Leaf Cream

got free samples of this (i love DHC!) and wow! used it overnight (as it is quite heavy/lacks SPF) and my skin feels so so so much softer! i dunno what they put in this stuff but i love it! it is on the heavy side but if applied judiciously it isnt too heavy, especially for a night cream. not many creams actually do improve your skin overnight. i have spent far more on a jar of goop and got no results. DHC really do come up with the goods here!

Mascara -Boots - Ultimate curl

tried countless mascaras before and find that 99% of them are useless, and thats usually down to the brush, for me, formulas are pretty much the same this has an awesome brush! densely packed bristles, very luxurious. a curved brush, i generally use it 'backwards', using the outside curve to coat the lashes and push them upwards more accurately (pro makeup artist tip) a quick wipe of the tip against the bottle neck and VOILA, perfectly coated, non clumpy lashes. the formula is SO easy going, you can choose whether to wait for the last coat to dry, or not. never any clumps AND it doesnt cost the best part of £30, but id never spend that much on a mascara, especially since an unfortunate encounter with lancome that actually broke my lashes off

on my 2nd bottle of this stuff! takes everything off really well and very easily. no need for separate eye makeup remover. and best of all for the sake of your skin - NO heavy duty rubbing! decent value for money too, i think! oh, and natural!

Lips -Korres - Pomegranate Lip Butter Glaze
rated 3 of 5

i have this in 'quince', suits me great. i also have it in 'pomegranate' but its a bit orange on me really pretty moisturising but not amazing, also doesnt last too long. its been usurped as my go-to lip stuff by revlon lip butter, which also comes in a tube, so no more sticky fingers LOVE the colour quince though, best thing about this little pot

Lips -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
rated 5 of 5

this stuff is gooooood i already have naturally pink lips, so i didnt expect the colour to 'pay off', i just wanted something that actually looks like a gloss whilst enhancing what i already got, and i wasnt disappointed staying power is also really good, as is the moisturising quality. the glitter isnt noticeable as such, more adds to the overall glossy effect. will def purchase again, will try another colour too

Foundations -Perricone - No Foundation Foundation

can we say overhyped crap? terrible orange liquid that dries before it can be applied nicely. does nothing but exaggerate pores and your age in general. in fact, youre probably ageing your skin by having to apply with such haste, dragging and pulling your skin about as you frantically try to make it look good so appalled, neigh, outraged, that this stuff is even on the market, never mind at such a rip off price for the amount you get, i used the entire bottle on every female face i know. all ages, all completions. from 17 to 60, they all, without exception, looked like that had been doused in salt and left in a tannery for a week do people really think they look good in this stuff when they leave the house? the only women this could possibly suit would be sunbed fanatics (sorry ladies!) what else? it smells really bad what the hell IS this stuff?? a joke on women? get outta here, 'doctor' perricone!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 138 Tapered Face Brush
rated 5 of 5
sarahlouisejones 3/28/2012 8:00:00 PM

the queen of face brushes! i use it every day, load it up with MAC pressed powder and press the sides gently over shiny areas, rotating the brush as i go. the pointed tip is great for powdering around the nose area. finish off with a few gentle sweeps. soft as a kittens paw and rarely sheds, perhaps a couple of bristles a week. which is more than you can say for MACs badger brush!

basically, it turns you orange, thats all you need to know i am sticking with the garnier version- great colour match, buildable coverage, dewy finish, flattering, pampers any dry skin, and sun protection too. on my 3rd bottle i have tried a few recent additions to the bb cream market, garnier had trumped them all and no, i dont work for them. heehee!
