Blush -Tom Ford - Love Lust
sarahfeeni 5/24/2013 1:56:00 AM
I completely understand the Tom Ford hype. I mean, come on, he's TOM FORD! I adore him. Which is why I will spend $60 on blush only to realize that its not quite as amazing as i thought it would be. IMHO, this looks almost identical to NARS orgasm on me. Very peach and gold. I don't get any pink from this blush. It almost pulled bronzy on me as well. (I am medium toned and a little tan) the texture is butter soft and it applies like a dream but the color just isn't great for me. It isn't bad, but I am not into coral-peach-orange blushes. Well, some corals yes but not this one. especially not when it is so much like a combo of NARS orgasm and Torrid which are half the price. I ended up swapping this away. I hope to find a Tom Ford blush that is magical for me. This wasn't the one.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Blush - Pink Rose
sarahfeeni 5/24/2013 1:28:00 AM
Looks like this blush is an oldie but goodie. (As it has not been reviewed in 5 years). An SA randomly pulled this out of the tray to go with a lipstick I was trying on.(funny, this is how I have discovered most of my favorite BB blushes. sometimes when you look at the tray yourself they all blend together a bit) Anyway, I was instantly in love with it this blush. It really gave me a warm flush of color without being too pigmented and intense. I have been wanting a simple, basic, pink blush that isn't cotton candy pink, or bubble gum pink, or fuchia. I just wanted a neutral rosy pink. I had come close with one of her pot rouges (the name of which I am now completely blanking on) but it always ended up pulling a bit too brown and I find cream blushes hard to work with. This blush is really what has been missing from my MU collection for a while. I like that I can put this on without worrying about overdoing it and looking like a clown. I also like knowing that despite it not being super pigmented, it will still show up on my tan NC-35 skin. This fills a void in my neutral day makeup look that I have needed for SO LONG. I love that it doesn't pull brown or red. It stays really rosy pink. I am cracking up reading the other reviews as many have mentioned that putting too much on will give you an "old lady" look. I guess I am not sure what that is exactly.... I guess overly rouged cheeks with a lot of facial powder and blue-tinged hair?? heck they probably still look pretty good if its this blush they are using. ;) I am planning to wear this blush with Tom Ford pink Adobe lipstick, NARS Tolede and dolce vita, and Laura mercier Baby Lips. I do wish BB's packaging was a little more.... exciting? I enjoy NARS a lot more because you get a mirror and what feels like a more sturdy compact. But I will always love bobbie for her ability to make so many blushes that are just 1 shade different from each other enabling everyone to find their true perfect blush.

Blush -NARS - Puerto Vallarta Multiple
sarahfeeni 5/24/2013 1:14:00 AM
This multiple was just sort of Meh for me. Though I am not big on orange and tangerine tinted products. But I am obsessed with NARS multiples and own nearly every one so I had to give this one a go. I agree with other reviewers that the texture is really nice. Very soft and creamy. However the color just didn't do anything for me. It also did not stay on my skin very long at all. This reminds me a bit of the old multiple Mustique but its a bit more orange with less shimmer. or something. hard to put my finger on it. This multiple and I were not made for each other. I will stick to Orgasm, Portofino, Cap Vert, Lamu, Copacabana etc..

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Baby Lips
sarahfeeni 5/24/2013 1:08:00 AM
I literally want to eat this lipstick. But thats a personal problem.... ;) My mom introduced me to this brand. I tried her tinted moisturizers in the past but that was it. She bought me this and another lipstick (raspberry sorbet) and I fell in love. Baby lips is probably my HG MLBB. It is sheer but has enough color to brighten up your face. The consistency is divine. It is the softest, yummiest thing ever. I also love how it smells. its subtle and natural. Im truly shocked to read that this dried out people's lips. But hey, anything is possible. It certainly did the opposite for me. (as do her other Creme smooth lipsticks). I blew through this tube and am down to the nub. Will repurchase soon. I definitely recommend this to anyone who has medium toned, warm coloring for natural summer lips.

Eyeliner -NARS - Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner - Via Veneto
sarahfeeni 5/24/2013 1:00:00 AM
I never thought I would spend $25 on eyeliner. I always bought the cheap drug store stuff and splurged on the rest of my MU. That all changed last fall when I got so tired of perpetually having black eyeliner smearing and dripping down my eyes making me look like I had just been asleep or crying or was going for a goth look. In my experience with this liner it STAYS PUT. it didn't smudge, run etc... It is easy to apply. it is soft and does not drag at your delicate eyelid skin. And it is the blackest black eyer. It makes my grey/blue eyes really stand out. I love this eye liner. So much that I ran through a tube in less than 2 months. it was probably only 7 weeks. That is my #1 and only complaint about this product. It is WAY too little product for your money. GIve us a little more PLEASE! that tube is huge and I know the crayon inside doesn't go down the whole way. Almost took a lippie off because of price. But decided not to because this is honestly the best jet black crayon eyeliner I have come across. I am not a fan of liquid eyeliners but this gives you the look of that without dealing with liquid. Just bought my second tube of this. Plus another in Barrow street. Hope to collect them all.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Heather Eye Shadow
sarahfeeni 5/24/2013 12:28:00 AM
I bought this shadow because I needed something neutral and very basic to wear everyday (or most days) to work. I used to love eyeshadows and playing up my eyes big time. I would wear smokey eyes during the day and even wear bright colors like teal and blue etc... Now I prefer play up my lips if I play up anything at all which means I need to leave my eyes neutral. I normally just wear liner and mascara but I was feeling like I needed something more to soften that. I knew BB would have just the shadow. I was choosing between this and another one (who's name I can't remember oops). The other one was more muddy and dirty looking. This looked more taupe which is really what I wanted. over all it looks pretty good on and does not appear overtly purple. (I did not want to look like I was wearing purple or lavender shadow). It does make my eyes look rather green which definitely proves that it is in the purple family of shadows. This a little bit of a downside but I still like it. As long as I use it with primer it stays on all day. I like that its something that you don't really notice but subtle enhanced the eyes and softens the look of black liner and mascara. I wore this today with NARS Barrow street on my water line (sea-foam green) and it looked really cool. (I got this idea from the NARS duo Habenera which is a shimmering plum/grey with a cool seafoam color. an SA told me to line my bottom lids with the seafoam and cover my whole lid with the shimmery plum. It looks amazing together. )Its definitely a little more funky than my usual day time work look but I love it. it makes your eyes stand out so well. So overall a great shadow. I probably won't repurchase as I tend to get sick of all of my BB shadows after a year or so because they last forever and i want something different!

Lipstick -Tom Ford - Tom ford private blend lip color pink adobe
sarahfeeni 5/23/2013 9:21:00 PM
This is an absolute MUST HAVE lipstick. Basically I echo everything the previous 3 reviewers have said. This color is neutral pink but NOT bland or boring. This is the color that I spent an hour trying to find at the BB counter and came up dry. (Everything was either too plum, too brown, too red or to lavender). I was not even planning to buy this lipstick today, I came upon it by happenstance. I thought I would try on TF's "flamingo" since I had seen it online and was curious to see what it looked like in person. (And its a great color too!) Pink adobe caught my eye since I had been looking for a nude rosey pink and I tried it on and BOOM! Perfection!! I couldn't believe it. I was certain it would be too light on me. But it looked amazing with the BB blush I had on (pink rose). It was literally the exact look I had been trying to achieve. I was also wearing BB eye shadow in heather (a taupe-light-dusty plum color), NARS larger than life liner in black and black mascara. I also had a touch of NARS larger than life liner in Barrow street in my water line. I love that this lipstick leave a nice stain behind. I didn't think a color this neutral and soft would leave such a pigmented stain behind. All in all this is simply the best neutral pink lipstick I've ever come across and it's rekindled my love for Tom Ford beauty products.

Lipstick -NARS - Outsider
sarahfeeni 5/22/2013 10:55:00 PM
This is one of the first lipsticks from NARS that I ever purchased. Its a really wonderful sheer coral with brownish pink undertones. It looks amazing paired with Torrid or Gilda blush. It definitely appears as more of a gloss on the lips but without the goopy, sticky quality of glosses. Its subtle and definitely could be in the MLBB category. I wore this one down to the nub and then lost it preventing me from being able to use the remaining amount with a lip brush. boo hoo. I guess I will have to own up to my MUA review and go buy another one!

Polishes -NARS - Trouville
sarahfeeni 5/21/2013 2:42:00 AM
I absolutely love the color of this polish. I loved it in the bottle and I loved it on my nails even though it ends up a darker color (which other reviewers have named "pepto" and is fairly accurate. I love it though.) I've never been a fan of light pink or mellow, soft pinks and neutrals for nails so for me this is as close to that as I've gotten. I think its a really flattering color on my slightly tan skin with yellow undertones and has a mature, sophisticated look. Honestly I have been so bored with nail colors for the last 6 months and this color has somehow really changed that. I even want to do my toes to match! the NEGATIVES: I took 2 lippies off. One for the price ($19 for a NARS np now. thats almost a 20% price increase from a few years ago. and obviously we have all noticed that their blushes magically jumped from $25-$29, bronzer from $30-$37.... those are pretty steep price hikes Francois. seriously. And they did it during the recession! I don't want to get off topic so I'll just finish by stating the obvious- the dramatic price increases a couple years back really irritated me The other lippie I took off because of the formula of this polish. I hoped and prayed it would not be streaky and difficult to work with. But sadly it is. Its the most difficult nail polish I've worked with in a very long time. Actually a couple of months ago I bought a Revlon polish in mint green and had similar issues with it but this was worse. (and for more than double the price!). If I didn't like the shade of the polish so much I would just remove it and return it. But because I like the color so much I am going to get an actual mani-pedi and let the professionals fight with this formula. I just hope they don't fight me on the fact that it needs 3 coats to be even. (this is probably why the color looks so much darker on the nail that in the bottle). Dang you, you streaky pastel polishes. You'd think by 2013 they'd have figured out a formula for pastels and light colors that aren't streaky and weird.

Blush -NARS - The Multiple in Maldives
sarahfeeni 5/18/2013 10:25:00 PM
I was so excited to get this multiple but its really been mostly a disappointment. I guess the color is just not right for me. I prefer Copacabana for a highlighter as this isn't quite bright enough to use for that. and it doesn't look great as a blush. I feel like I put frosted lipstick on my face when I tried to use it as blush. THe orgasm and south beach multiple are much better suited for me. Bummer because "Champagne pink" sounded really nice....

Bronzers -NARS - The Multiple in Lamu
sarahfeeni 5/18/2013 10:02:00 PM
I just realized that I bought this multiple 3 years ago. wow. I was making an attempt to organize my makeup and found this in a cosmetic case that hadn't seen the light of day in a long time. This multiple is sort of a more yellow-toned, slighly more bronzy south beach with a lot of glitter. I don't see much color on my face when I use this, what I see is glitter. and when I want gold glitter, that is awesome. This is definitely not an everyday staple but it is a gorgeous, shimmery, sparkly fun product to use when you're in the mood for glitter. I personally think that it is great as eye-shadow but make sure to use with primer or it will hardly show up and not stay on more than 10 minutes. I also love the name of this. "Lamu". Lamu is a really amazing island off of the coast of Kenya in the Indian Ocean. I lived there briefly a very long time ago. Love how Francois picks his names based on places he has been.

Blush -NARS - Boys Don't Cry
sarahfeeni 5/18/2013 9:37:00 PM
I received this blush in a swap and had only seen pictures of the blush on-line, not in person. The color is stunning in the pan. Its truly unlike any other blush I own or have come across. Its almost a watermelon color with a hint of coral. Its VERY pigmented. As in, the most pigmented blush I've used other than Exhibit A probably. As the previous reviewer stated there is a light wash of gold imprinted in the design which disappears with a few brush sweeps. The blush is the size of a Laguna bronzer I think will quite literally last forever! I have yet to wear this blush in public. I have experimented with it a couple of times trying to find the right way to wear it. As previously mentioned, it is VERY pigmented and VERY bright. Its pulls really bright pink/coral on me even with the lightest hand. I misplaced my skunk brush months ago so I was using a regular blush brush which didn't make it any easier to get a "subtle" pop of this color. I am not sure if this is going to work for me being so bright. I rarely say this, but I wish I had a professional NARS artist to help me figure out how to wear it without looking like A. a clown or B. I have a fever. Could also use some help in the lippie department for what to wear with. If I keep this I was thinking about crushing some of the blush into some clear lipgloss to make a matching lippie. That could be the answer for me. All in all its a gorgeous, unique color that would probably look good on many skin tones. (though I can see that it would be easier to wear if you were darker as the previous reviewer mentioned). I took off one lippie because of the "advanced" nature of this blush. meaning, I feel like you need a lesson in how to apply and wear it because it is such an intense, bright and pigmented color. As with other NARS blushes it is very soft, finely milled and very high quality. For reference I am warm-toned NC-30-NC-35 and can get extremely tan. I have a light tan right now.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure Velvet #40 La Sensuelle
sarahfeeni 5/17/2013 10:47:00 PM
If I had tried this before purchasing I likely would not have. (I bought it online) Its a lovely color but not what I was looking for and not a color that generally looks good on me. Its a cool/blue toned red lipstick that looks a lot like NARS Scarlet Empress. It looks almost purple on me. I can see how this color would be stunning on some people but its not great for my warm-toned complexion. I always tend to look older when I wear certain shades of purple/red, strange I know, but it really ages me. The texture is really really nice and I like it more than most other Chanel lipsticks. It feels a bit thicker and heavier than other chanel LS's I have had and I liked that. (I love matte and semi-matte lipsticks. I like to feel the product on my lips). Its very moisturizing and did not dry out my lips. Unfortunately this will be returned but maybe a different color will catch my fancy. Over-all a great product.

Lipstick -NARS - TransSiberian Express
sarahfeeni 5/16/2013 1:06:00 AM
I have been coveting this lipstick for months and hoping to get it in a swap. I finally just decided to purchase it and I am happy I did. Of course I was worried that it was silly to do so considering that i have probably 10 red lipsticks. But after swatching on my hand with a handful of my other reds I see that it is truly a unique color. As others have described, it is a true "ruby" red with a warm rose pink base. NARS describes it on their website as a ruby rose color and that seems very accurate. I'm planning to wear this more as a stain during the day. It really gives that " just bitten" look and as others have said, it doesn't fade to pink or fuchsia. It remains a rosy red color. (I don't like how most red lipsticks leave a fuchsia stain. NARS true matte in Amsterdam also does not fade to fuchsia as its a very warm toned red) While this does stain your lips it's not a long-wear product that will withstand eating a full meal etc... But the texture and quality is wonderful. I find it soft and smooth and I like it more than Chanel's new rouge velvet which are too slippery. I don't like when a lipstick is too slippery, it feels like the color doesn't penetrate as much and it seems to come off more easily. All in all this is a great lipstick and I'm really excited to finally have one of my own! I plan to wear with Constantinople cream blush from NARS or possibly Taos. Could potentially go well with Sin too. Mascara and a soft wash of grey shadow with it is a nice look that makes my blue eyes stand out and my whole face look healthy and younger. Will definitely purchase again. Oh, and this lipstick looks NOTHInG like the photographs above. Those look like heat wave or jungle red. Someone should take them down and repost different pics

Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Fleur Power
sarahfeeni 5/15/2013 2:10:00 AM
This is the first product I have ever purchased from MAC. and I achieved it completely on my own with no help from an SA! (hey, when you don't know MAC that wall of a million products is SUPER intimidating!! ) I purchased this after being extremely disappointed to find out that my favorite spring and summer pink blush from NARS (Amour) was pulling very dusty and orange on me. WTF!!? I am still perplexed by this. I swear they changed the formulation. Or maybe I changed... I don't know. but still. sadness. I guess I have to be more pale to wear it. but i digress... so I cam across Fleur power just perusing the blushes and I chose it because I was naturally drawn to the color and its very similar to NARS amour, the color I used to love. I would describe Fleur Power as a warm medium pink with peach undertones. I find that it does not look exactly the same on the face as it does in the pan, which is a little disappointing. however it still looks very nice and gives me a warm, soft pinky-peach glow that can be subtle and natural or a little more intense if i want to layer it on. Once in a while it pulls a little red which is weird. gives me a wee bit of a sunburned look. sometimes in certain light I detect an orange hue. But generally what I get is the pinky-peach flush that goes so well with my fav NARS lippie "mayflower". its a very youthful look which I both need and enjoy. If I ever actually run out of this I would buy it again. $21 is a decent price though a little overpriced for a compact with no mirror. I think $16 would be more reasonable. but it still $8 less than a NARS blush so that is something. :)
