My favourite make up product. It seems to last and last and doesn't dry out my sensitive eyelids, but I cant find this anywhere in Australia or NZ! :( anyone who has seen it anywhere please send me a message!
I got this as a christmas pressie and i love it! Luckily i got it as a gift, otherwise i would never know how nice body shop scrubs are. Because before this i didn't even own a body scrub and didn't see the point in them. This one smells amazing, and its really invigorating. I love using it in the mornings or after a hard workout. It also leaves a slight layer of moisture over my skin, which isn't greasy or anything like that, but just gives you that added bit of moisturiser. So this is a great scrub, and i can't wait to check out what other yummy smelling ones they have and i will be repurchasing.
Sunscreen -Avene - Very High Protection Emulsion SPF50+ (2010 FORMULA)
sarahek 9/22/2010 2:47:00 AM
I used this for the first time today and i'm very impressed. It honestly didnt feel like i had sunscreen on but a light moisturiser. It sunk in and left no white cast (i am a PPP tho). I feel so protected with this on and i love that it doesnt have a strong fragrance and is water proof, non cocomedogenic and hypoallergenic. The only con i can think of is that you get a small amount for the price. But i dont mind paying extra for a high protection suscreen that i actually enjoy wearing. I havent written a review in a while but feel that this really deserves its 5 stars. I will update after i've used this for while longer. I've also purchased the bioderm photoderm max spf 50 plus from france, so i want to give that a try as well.
I reeeaallllyy wanted to like photoready. This does even out my skin tone and slightly blur out a few imperfections, but i want flawless skin and this didnt do that. From afar it looks okay, but up close it seems to make my pores more noticeable, especially after a few hours of wear and will accentuate any pimples or any areas of skin that are not smooth. Also the tiny specks of 'shimmer' are noticeable on my skin which i cant stand.
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lucas' Papaw Ointment

I just moved to Australia and noticed EVERYONE here has this, so naturally i went to the pharmacy to get some. I dont get the hype for this product, it didnt really do anything for my lips. but at the pharmacy i tried the QV lip balm which has spf 30+ as well and that works much better for my chapped lips, plus having the extra spf is a must here in oz.
My skin needs intense moisturisation. No joke. I have tried so many moisturisers and spent SO much money. i'm talking biotherm and kinerase here, and on my student budget that was pretty much a week of food, but i was desperate. i went to the pharmacy and this was recommended. Initially i was not impressed, i guess i let fancy packaging and pricetags influence my purchases :S But this stuff is perfect and i rarely have dry skin anymore. It also doesnt cause any breakouts for me and is great value for money and fragrance and crap free :) during the day i use their spf 30+ moisturiser and this one at night. Now my skin has improved so much i no longer have to apply this all over my face and can even just apply it over a serum and it will still work wonders. Will repurchase, another HG product from QV :)

I love this stuff. I may have a new formula it says that its spf 30+. This lip balm is perfect for me. It has no added chemicals etc, is perfume free and smooths and even plumps up my lips instantly! Its such great value and its so important to protect our lips from the sun so the high spf is fantastic. Everything so far i have tried in the QV range have become HG products for me!
Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Ego QV Face Gentle Cleanser

After trying so many different fancy cleansers i decided to go back to the basics. i went to a pharmacy in melbourne and the pharmacist was AMAZING and knew so much about skincare. It was about 3 days before i started college and not only was almost every single pore on my forehead pimply but my chin and sides of my skin were so dry, flaky and itchy. I bought this cleanser along with one called pHisohex (AMAZING stuff too) targeted for very acne prone skin which i just used on my forehead and chin. Now that my skin has cleared up so much i just use one drop of pHisohex and the rest of this QVwash. 4 months later my skin is close to perfect :) I realise now that basic, perfume free formulas work best. I like everything so far in the QV range and will repurchase as they are suc great value. Its quite an unknown brand so i keep recommending them to friends and family. Luckily this pharmacist recommended their daytime moisturiser with sf 30, and their night cream.both have changed my skin dramatically.
GAHH!! why did i buy this?!! i thought it was pure crap. The brush didnt let me coat my lashes and get a hold of them, instead it kind of skimmed over them. There was barely anymore volume than before, it was hard to apply more coats, left my lashes hard and gross. ew. wish i didnt fall for the marketing hype.
This isnt a bad mascara, in my opinion its just okay. I love the pacaging tho, its so cute, and i love keeping it out of my make up bag :) but aside from that nothing really stands out. I have high standards when it comes to mascaras, but this one didnt live up. Although it doesnt clump which is a big plus, it does leave my lashes quite hard, and looking hard, if that makes sense. It doesnt flake/ smudge which is great tho. I wouldnt repurchase simply because i love buying new mascaras :)
Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Ego QV Face Moisturising Cream SPF30

Overall i would rate this a 4.5, it is a great sunscreen. The protection is fab, and i love how it is free of unnessecary crap. My old l'oreal sunscreen was not working well for me, as i disliked the added colours, chemicals, perfums etc, and felt that i was doing damadge to my skin even tho it was a sunscreen. This QV spf 30+ is better than i thought it would be. A LOT better than i thought it would be. I must admit i bought it out of desperation and just needed one for a few days while looking around for a better one. But i will buy this again. It is not greasy on me, it does not leave a white cast and it works great under makeup. I just wish that it was more moisturising. But as my skin is VERY dry, i'm certain most people will find this to be perfect. Hopefully once my skin has improved this will be my HG. Go out and try this! Wil def repurchase and it deserves the great ratings. Update:I'm in LOVE with this. I have found my HG sunscreen and daily moisturiser, this is perfect. GO AND TRY IT!!!
Do i like this product yes? BUT its just too expensive for what it does. I noticed no difference in my skin when using it BUT it did make me feel pampered and calm. I used it when my skin needed refreshing or even to set my makeup. I loved that you did get a large amount tho, and the packaging is ideal, just way overpriced imo.
I only bought this three days ago but i'm liking it so far :) I've wanted to buy it for some time after seeing reviews here on mua and reading about its 'cult following' This is my favourite oil to use on my face. It really sinks in quickly on my dry skin and doesn't leave a oily film ontop of the skin. I decided to buy this when i bought a new facial moisturiser which worked so well for me, and its main ingredient was pure rosehip oil. So i thought, why not go straight to the source? I've been using this directly on my face (only 2 drops) Day and night. Yesterday i mixed some of this with my body moisturiser and it was amazing. The dropper applicator is great too, and the dark container protects it from light. I'm hoping that in the long term this will help fade a few acne scars i have and even out my skintone, along with fading some freckles. But i'll have to wait and see about that. When i do wake up, i notice my face is not as red, and the sides of my nose are the same colour as the rest of my skin. Never had that before!! :D I've also been using this on my cuticles and lips, so its really a mulit-purpose product. I really hope this becomes an HG and helps fade some scars, cus i'm loving it so far :) Its great to know it'll help with aging too and that its all natural. I will update in about 3 months :)
Treatments (Eye) -Origins - A Perfect World for Eyes
sarahek 1/31/2010 3:02:00 AM
I don't use this daily, but only when i notice that my undereyes are looking dark, or when my eyelids get dry. I LOVE the smell of this and the packaging is great. You only use a small amount (i only use half a pump) and it has lasted me forever. I like the texture too, it is a gel formula but really moisturizes my eye area well. It hasn't given me milia or hurt my sensitive eyes. i'm surprised by the crappy reviews, but then again i don't have undereye bags or wrinkles yet. I'm using this as a preventative and just a little pick me up :) It makes me feel pampered. Plus helps my concealer go on nicely. BUT i don't think i'll repurchase, unless its on sale. Its too expensive for a student like me (got it as a gift) and my rosehip oil that i use daily helps with moisture. I'm sure there is something better out there, for a cheaper price. So i'll be on the lookout :)
Powders -Smashbox - Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder
sarahek 1/17/2010 5:02:00 AM
For some reason when i first put this on i hated it. i was SO SO SO pissed off that i just bought (on impulse) a $59 powder foundation. And i have NO idea what happened, but i just tried it again. 4 months later and i love it. Could be that i applied it alone and not over liquid foundation this time, or maybe that my skin is not as dry as before, but WOW. I used to be anti-powder as my skin was so dry i found they all made it look worse and my face 'flat' if that makes sense. This really gives a 'halo' effect. It seems to make my face glow and you can't tell that i'm wearing makeup. Even right up close, it doesn't look like makeup but my skin. I have issues with dry patches, especially around my nose. While most foundations cake up there and look terrible, this somehow glides over it, making it dissapear. This makes my pores dissapear. I have slight redness over my cheeks and chin, this covers it. My skin can look dull and tired but this really seems to wake me up. I would rate this a four overall, the foundation and packaging are of great quality. Luckily 'Fair' is perfect for me but shades are very limited. The product is expensive. Crazy expensive. But with this you do get what you pay for. I'm pretty sure i will repurchase, which for me is HUGE.
