Concealers -Tarte - Maracuja creaseless concealer
sarah1nicole 8/12/2011 1:41:00 AM
As most of the other reviewers, I got this in a QVC set. I was least excited about the Maracuja concealer because I have been faithful to the Kat Von D tattoo concealer. Let's just say this is the only product I ended up using from the kit every single day. The color blends so beautifully into my skin and stays all day. The best part about this concealer is that it keeps your skin looking fresh and a bit dewy rather than matte, so it looks like your real skin. The only qualm I have with this is the applicator tip. I have to squeeze the tube so hard for any product to come out. Besides that, this is a flawless product.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua
sarah1nicole 4/30/2011 3:55:00 PM
Where to begin?! I have been in search of my HG foundation since the beginning of time. I would always come so close. MAC's Studio Sculpt was awesome, but it made my face cakey by the end of a long work day. Lancome's Teint Miracle was great too, but the color selection didn't suit my shade. Enter Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua. I had used Mat Lumiere for a while but it caked and oxidized like no other. Also not a fan of the glass bottle. So when I heard everyone raving about Chanel's newest foundation, I had to check it out for myself. The wonderful SA applied it with a regular foundation brush and no lies I was astounded when I looked in the mirror. It looked like my skin, but without the redness and few freckles I have. No foundation has ever looked so natural on me. I bought it immediately, but in the back of my mind I still thought it was too good to be true. I have been wearing it for 2 weeks now and I can fully attest to how awesome this product is. It doesn't break me out, doesn't oxidize, doesn't come off halfway throughout the day and doesn't make my skin look like a mask. For reference, I am NC25-30 and I have this foundation in BR30. I put this on at 6:30 am yesterday, went to work for 8 hours then went to the gym. My skin looked as fresh and as radiant as it had the morning I put it on. I couldn't believe it. I have tried applying this with my fingers like the bottle said, but I think stippling gave me the best effect. I just set it with MAC's Prep+Prime Powder and sprayed a little of Urban Decay's All Nighter in the morning and it legit stayed put for over 12 hours. Also remember to shake the bottle well! So excited for the summer to be able to use such a light weight foundation. Def give this a try!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Jennifer Aniston

OBSESSED. I got this as a sample at Sephora two weeks ago, and just went back yesterday and snagged 2 more samples. LOL The top note is very strong, so for all you people who just smelled the tester at Sephora you should def re-try, spray and wait it out. This scent blossoms into this beautiful soft beachy floral scent. Very unique. I wore this to my cousins wedding yesterday. I sprayed on at around 3pm when we left my house and I can still smell it on me - 20 hours later. Buying the full size on my next trip to Sephora :)

Blush -Maybelline - fit me blush/medium pink
sarah1nicole 4/9/2011 10:55:00 AM
I saw Kandee Johnson use this in one of her tutorials. We have pretty much the same skin tone and it looked awesome on her so I figured I'd give it a try. When I got to Ulta, I was a little underwhelmed by the color. It looked very deep and almost 80's mauve (don't know if that makes sense). I figured for 6 bucks I had nothing to lose though. I swatched on my arm when I got home and it was a beautiful peachy pink. I used it this morning mixed with some bronzer and it looks AMAZING! This is def. a must have for medium skin tones.

Masks -LUSH - Cosmetic Warrior Mask
sarah1nicole 3/14/2011 9:27:00 PM
I loveee this product. Cosmetic Warrior was my first Lush mask and my favorite of the bunch. I was warned before buying that this had an offensive odor, which I can understand but it is not unbearable. It smells lightly of garlic and onions. Being Italian, my house usually smells like that anyways, so I am not bothered by it :) Plus, if something helps my skin, I don't care if it stinks - I'll use it! This is the first mask I've ever used that I was able to see instant results. I used this first in the summer when I was vacationing in D.C. in the middle of August. One word. HUMID. My skin was an instant disaster, and I was going to a concert that night. I ran back from the Georgetown Lush to my hotel and applied this right away. It took away impurities which reduced all my acne to almost nothing. My skin looked awesome for the concert! I've bought this two times since. I also use this as a spot treatment and it works great. My only gripe is that it lasts only a few weeks due to the fresh ingredients. The closest Lush is about 45 minutes away, so it's not something I'm able to use frequently. If you can withstand the light odor of onions and garlic, definitely but this product!

Cleansers -LUSH - Fresh Farmacy
sarah1nicole 3/14/2011 9:19:00 PM
I have extremely sensitive skin. So with a cleanser I need something that is going to be able to clean my face without stripping it and irritating it. Fresh Farmacy does just that. I was hesitant of the price but the SA assured me I wouldn't regret my purchase. I bought a seemingly small chunk for $10. With most Lush products, they tend to go fast if left in the bath or by the sink. So I cut Fresh Farmacy into 5 equal pieces. I have been using this for about 4 months now, so I can fully attest to how awesome this is. This is the first cleanser I have ever used that has throughly cleaned my face but still manages to be super gentle. I can even wash over my eyes with this and there's no stinging or irritation. My skin has cleared up immensely and calmed down significantly after using this. I was having a huge acne flare up when I bought this and I can testify that this is the sole reason for my skin clearing up. Amazing product!

Masks -LUSH - Catastrophe Cosmetic
sarah1nicole 3/14/2011 9:11:00 PM
This mask is so so. The Lush SA recommended this to me and said that it was the better smelling version of Cosmetic Warrior (my HG). I decided to try it and one of the only pro's was that it did smell fresh and fruity. The consistency of this mask was very strange. I opened it up and a ton of liquid spilled out and the rest of it was rather hard and thick feeling. I managed to mix the liquid into the thicker mixture and applied it. It dried rather fast, but was quick to flake off and fall everywhere. Complete mess! I removed the mask with water and my cleanser. It left this weird film on my face. So I washed again. The film was still there. I decided to let it sit on my face and try again in the morning, as to not further irritate my face. It kept my face matte all night, so I assume this mask would be awesome for someone with more oily skin who needs to keep the shine at bay. This did nothing for my acne but it didn't do any damage to my skin either. A pretty mediocre product overall.

Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick - Gotta Dash!
sarah1nicole 3/9/2011 4:44:00 PM
Ughhh I LOVE this. so much. I usually stay with nude colors, but I figured I'd take a chance and try Gotta Dash! on at my local MAC. It looks so amazing. I stay away from warm lip colors because they usually make my teeth look yellowish but this stuff is incredible. It looks so good on me and it's perfect for spring and summer. It lasts for quite a while and when it fades, it doesn't look patchy or weird like some lipsticks do. I've been wearing this all week and keep receiving compliments. I can't wait to wear this to the beach!

Polishes -OPI - Dulce de Leche
sarah1nicole 3/5/2011 11:32:00 PM
This color is so beautiful in the bottle. Even with the swatches on here, the color looks so pretty. A light dusty rose. But on my hands it turned to this weird muted taupe-like pink. It just didn't agree with my light olive skin tone I guess. I took off one lippie for that but I can't fault this polish completely. The formula is great, it stayed on with minimal chipping for over a week. All in all it's probably a great polish for most, it just wasn't for me.

Shampoo -TiGi - Urban Antidotes Resurrection
sarah1nicole 3/4/2011 10:01:00 PM
I have to say I have been sucked into TiGi's packaging since day one. As far as their shampoos and conditioner are concerned, I always felt they fell flat of any of my expectations. I would spend a good chunk of money for a shampoo whose quality would rival that of a $4 bottle of Aussie. My hair dresser used this on me with the matching conditioner and nothing else as far as styling products go and my hair turned out amazing. I figured it was just pure luck, or the way she had cut my hair that day, or the velocity of the wind. Any excuse to give TiGi some credibility. So I was hesitant to buy this. A few weeks later I was on a bit of a rampage at Ulta and turned the corner of the aisle to see this and the conditioner. I saw the buy two get one free sign and decided to give it a try. Ulta has a great return policy, so why not? I am absolutely A-mazed by this product. This is the first shampoo I have ever used that thoroughly cleans all product out of my hair but still moisturizes. I used to rarely blow dry my hair due to frizzies. This stuff completely smooths out my hair. So even when I wear my hair curly it still looks polished and done with no product added. My biggest pro is an experience I had last night. I was losing clumps of hair in the sink every time I showered. I always thought this was normal, even though my mother would gasp every time she discovered the pile of strays when I forgot to clean the tub out. I've been using this shampoo for two weeks now. So when I got out of the shower last night, I turned around to pick up my huge clump of hair to find not ONE strand in the drain. I was so ecstatic! I've never had a product that gives this dramatic of results in such a short amount of time. I think I'm in love!

Concealers -Kat Von D - Tattoo Concealer
sarah1nicole 3/3/2011 4:35:00 PM
Awesome product! I have been using this for my under eye circles for a few months now. My main problem with other concealers as well as foundations is that the color match is horrible. I end up with oompa loompa skin, or I look like a ghost. The color match is absolutely PERFECT for my skin. I use it in Medium and it's amazinggg! It goes on so smooth and you need very little product. I can see this stuff lasting for over a year. When I smile, I tend to lift my cheeks which creates these lines under my eyes, which are only made worse by makeup. This stuff doesn't budge. It stays on longer than my foundation. I don't really use this on blemishes though just because the texture seems more well suited for under the eyes. All in all I LOVE this produce and wish I had found it sooner! If only Kat Von D made foundations :(

Lipstick -MAC - Blankety
sarah1nicole 2/15/2011 4:41:00 PM
L-O-V-E Blankety. I got this in a swap. I always have a nude lip, and this is HG for me. I usually use my foundation to cancel out my super pigmented lips, but it often looks too corpse-like. This gives me that nude look, while still being beautiful. A hint of pink / mauve, but still super nude. Lovely for everyday wear, or add a lipliner (I suggest MAC's Buerre) for a night on the town. Can't rave about Blankety enough!

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Finishing Kabuki
sarah1nicole 2/15/2011 1:07:00 AM
First off, let me start by saying I own MAC'S 187 Stippling Brush. At $40+ it was definitely an investment. The stippling effect gives a nice airbrushed glow to my skin. However, MAC's 187 shed like crazy. Normally I wouldn't mind, but I paid a good chunk of money for it. And it's super annoying to have to pick out small hairs from your already done makeup. I ran across Ecotools version of the 187 at Walgreens for a little over $7. It is listed as a Kabuki brush, but I beg to differ. This works just as good, if not better than MAC's $40 brush. No shedding. Easier to wash. Ergonomic handle. And the price! This brush is awesome. I would 100% recommend getting this brush before looking at any of MAC, Sephora, Ulta etc.'s stippling brushes. Biggest pro is that Ecotools is cruelty free and environmentally friendly. You can't beat that!

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Light Blue
sarah1nicole 2/12/2011 11:35:00 AM
I HATE this stuff. With.a.passion. Everyone and their mom wears this. It does smell pretty at first, but then it quickly turns to create a bugspray type smell. Icky! And it's sooo strong. The second anyone walks into a room wearing this stuff, it reeks up the whole room. Not my cup of tea. Prettier alternative is Moschino's I Love Love (my HG).

Lipstick -MAC - Wonder Woman Heroine
sarah1nicole 2/11/2011 5:59:00 PM
Where do I even begin? I have TONS of lipsticks, especially from MAC. I am not that impressed with their Wonder Woman Collection as a whole, but this lipstick stood out. I saw swatches before the collection was released and I thought I'd give it a try. Bought it yesterday and I keep reapplying. Even wore it to bed! This stuff is gorgeous! It has the right amount of brown and golden shine. I would think this lipstick will be flattering on multiple skin tones and colors. It's buildable so you can do a light shimmery look or a more dramatic bronze look. I put this on this morning over a waxy lip balm and it had a glossy effect. But bare on my lips it looks SUPERB! I usually do a smoky brown eye, light bronzer and a brown or nude lip. This works with all my go-to looks. My two favorite things about Heroine are that it is actually moisturizing, unlike some of the other MAC lipsticks I have that can be drying. And this stuff makes my teeth look soo white. I am going back to MAC tomorrow to buy another one to stock up. I can't wait until summer to use this when I'm tan. I give Heroine an A+++ I am definitely impressed. I would highly suggest RUNNING to MAC to try this out for yourselves.
