Powder -Estee Lauder - Nutritious Vita-Mineral Loose Powder Makeup SPF 15
sarah0717 8/29/2011 6:03:00 PM
This is my first loose powder and I didn't want to purchase something too heavy considering I also wear Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation for my dailey make up routine. The texture feels translucent and light when I apply the powder over my foundation. I avoid using too much because the aftermath will either feel cakey and overdone. I also bought the shade a few shades darker to evenly tan my complexion which adds an extra glow. People have reviewed on the oilyness after a couple hours time. This I agree because I have extremely oily skin, before when applied it feels matte but after while it looks like the powder has dissolved and shiny this is why it's best to always prime your face. It does make a difference but not a huge one (for me at-least). The second tip is to have blotting sheets then re-apply the powder afterwards but sometimes I get extremely lazy so that's one of the cons for people who have combination/oily like me. The price is average but not worth it I would say. The results are perfect but there is nothing too special about it. Estee Lauder are very good at overpricing their products. The packaging is good I actually use the little brush that comes with it, it still gives me a good outcome. Overall, I would say 'Yes' I would purchase it again. I would've down graded it to 3/5 if it wasn't for the price and oily aftermath.
Treatments (Eye) -Simple - revitalising eye roll-on
sarah0717 5/7/2011 3:13:00 PM
Sadly, it didn't do anything for my eyes. It kind of made me look more tired then before. I gave it to my mum if she noticed a difference but I'm thinking to just invest another one better for her because her skin is more mature and I doubt it'll work anyway if I passed it around. The price is average but the packaging is odd. I personally don't like eye roll ons because it feels too rough under the eyes and it's the most sensitive part as well so it's not worth to buy something that automatically does it for you. Fingers are better tools.
I used to be in the craze for vaseline because it's cheap and does sort of the job. I do feel sometimes when I use this there's some weird slippery texture on my lips and then it produces some white substance afterwards which is quite gross just saying it. I quite enjoy their flavours however. The rose version has to be my favourite it has a sheer tint in your lips but even though I pay more with Burts Bee's lipbalms I still think £2 or more for the newer vaselines are a bit edgy for me as it won't deliever great results.
Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Sparkling Clean Oil-Control Foaming Gel Cleanser
sarah0717 5/7/2011 1:55:00 PM
This product is really good and it doesn't break me out. I have extremely oily and dry skin but, I figuered this doesn't dry too much on my face after cleansing because usually the cleansers I used before (such as; Clinique) can be drying if I don't tone my face straight away. I love the aftermath where my face feels like it can breath and has that citrus scent to it. I'm not sure if this is also build to remove make up like my everyday foundation but I thought around 2 pumps can completely remove it off without being too harsh on your skin. The price is average and I think it's worth to pay under £20 if it'll last long which I'm sure it will because the pump is not really that strong but it gives the right amount to cleanse your face anyway! The packaging quality is okay. I feel I need to hold the pump slightly bend since it's quite hard to push the pump while it sits and it's not too wide enough for the fingers to get the gel from the pump. Considering, I'm going to start a regimen on acne.org I would still buy the product regardless but not use it as much, because at the moment I want to clear my acne first, but if I ran out of acne.org products I'll definitely switch to this one. I only gave it 4/5 because of the pump issue that's all.
The fragrance is very floral and girly. I think it's great for spring because it has that sunshine and blossoming vibe to it. As soon as I approached to adult hood I've kind of lost connection to the smell but it's something I would wear occassionly anyway. I have the 100ml bottle and two small versions of it as gifts so I'm not sure what are the orignial prices for both but I'm guessing it's a average price for girls rather than women purchasing this for themselves. The packaging quality good be better. It's simple and girly which I like but it looks cheap looking. If I had to buy this again it would be a maybe, something I won't be purchasing straight away or in the nearer future.
The reason why I purchased so I can heal my past acne scars which affected me for almost 5 years. I'm aware this serum is build for mainly to avoid premature wrinkles and wrinkles as such, but I've seen alot of benefits that helps heal scars and other past damages as well. I did alot of research on this first. I was slightly muffled why this serum on the Estee Lauder site had almost every 5 stars from reviewers I'm guessing it must be a miracle worker but you can't be fooled. I got the best reviewer from a Youtuber he was mainly affected similar to my situation and he told me it took him 2 bottles for the scars to slowy fad away which I thought it made more sense. I trusted him and purchased it finally. I'm only around 3 weeks after using this and I did see some improvement in my skin. I have very super flaky skin and very oily combination. In the beginning I had to use a moisturizer (which your suppose to use anyway accordingly) and some days after I didn't need to use the moisturizer anymore because my skin felt super soft afterwards although I won't say 'hydrating' but it didn't crack my face open. I noticed my acne scars have faded very slowly I had the worse on my left cheek and it's appears less red now. My chin is the worse and I have more chances to break out from that part which I still do but it's not because of the serum, but I did see my scars fading ever so slighty. People also reviewed on the glow. I don't know much about that but when I wake up I did noticed a dewy look. The price is expensive no doubt I would recommened buying the 50ml bottle (£50 British Pound) because you'll save more that way. The one I have was the limited edition with the Advance Night Repair Eye Cream (the eye cream was really good for puffiness especially I'm a university student I had no sleep since my finals are coming up). The price is worth to buy anyway, because it does work for some but it takes patience. The packaging quality is nice, the bottle is pretty. Although take extra caution because it is fragile so that's one thing not great about it because it'll be money down the drain. I would buy this product again most definitely. I would probably edit this review to update this product if it came to my expectations.
The scent is very sweet and spicy which is a interesting combination and I like it. The scent is over powering if you use 2 sprays of it and I did feel a little queasy, but it didn't bother me when I went out. I'm normally not a fan of perfumes, but I would buy occasionally, since perfumes is not my everyday thing but I just enjoy smelling them. I originality wanted the Tresor in Love but my friend's cousin who is l'oreal manager says she's not selling it, but she got me Hypnose for £20 instead as a discount and it was worth the purchase even though the orginial price is average for a Lancome fragrance. The packaging quality is okay. The structure is uncomfortable sometimes when I hold it but it's not a big deal I kind of like how it's shaped quirky although it's something you wouldn't carry around since it's quite heavy. I don't know if I would buy this again but I said 'Yes'. It's something I would own as a collection but something I wouldn't pruchase straight away.
Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - Emporio Armani Diamonds
sarah0717 5/4/2011 1:04:00 PM
The scent has a very sophiscated smell to it which I like, because the odour is not too over-powering when I wear it and the smell is just divine and floral even when I'm not wearing it I just smell it from the bottle haha. I'm normally not a fan of perfumes, but I would buy occasionally since perfumes is not my everyday thing but I just enjoy smelling them. I got this for £15 as a discount from a friend's cousin, because she's a L'oreal manager and it was worth the purchase even though I wouldn't say this from the orginial price as it's of course an expensive brand. The packaging quality is simple yet unqiue it's something I would carry around if I wanted to. I really love the Armani logo on the front it looks very classy. If I had to purchase it again I would say 'Yes' most definitely, probably the most perfume in my list I would buy.
I got this as a discount from a friend's cousin who is l'oreal manager and I didn't know what it looked like or if it was good enough to purchase, but I expected it was good judging from it's original price. I used it for 4-5x times already and I love it. The texture is really thin and soft which creates a perfect lining. The price is good for a normal eyeliner that supposely works so will buy again in the future! I like the packaging quality, the long tube with the brush tip inside supports your hand when your lining your eyes which is a good outcome.
Vasiline, Carmex.etc. didn't do well with my lips and it gave me a sheer horribile feeling on my lips as if I over moistrized them if that makes kind of sense. I LOVE burt's bees. It's hydrating and smells so good! and to top it off it's all natural stuff. My favourite is the red one with pomegrenate which adds a tint of red to your lips. It's also a great base coat for my lipsticks which makes it look natural and less drying. The price is normal and worth it for something that will last a little bit longer if you use it everyday like I do. This is my second purchase and will continue purchasing them! The packaging quality is the same will all lip balms; pocket size.etc. so it's all handy.
Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
sarah0717 4/13/2011 11:47:00 AM
The powder is quite heavy and un-natural for me. It also looks way too cakey almost too plastic when you try to apply it and gives me breakouts sadly. The price is cheap for it's quality and texture anyway but, the packaging like most pressed powders are useless. Once dropped that's it just little specs of powder left inside and I still used it a little while after but stopped because there were no benefits from it anyway. Not worth the item to buy regardless for it's price.
Conditioner -Palmers - Olive Oil Formula Replenishing Conditioner
sarah0717 4/13/2011 11:34:00 AM
I only know one shop that sells this and it's quite rare for me to find it in other drugstores. Having said this it's definitely worth the product to haunt for. Natural oils such as; olive oil and coconut oil is prone to have good benefits for dry and lifeless hair and this is one of the reasons why I stop using other hair products because none of them compares to Palmer's. I love the texture it gives off after having a shower it feels more soft, radient and volumized (my hair is naturally flat, greasy and dull) The packaging and esp. the price is worth the buy. Definitely won't stop using this product!
Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmers Olive Butter Formula
sarah0717 4/13/2011 11:21:00 AM
My mum bought this for me and since then this become my favourite product from Palmers and goes well with the Olive Oil conditioner which makes it a fine collection :) The texture and smell smells so fresh and radiant. I love how their packed with antioxidants and anti-aging properties so, it's kind of a less way to invest more products when you can trust this as one and I do see how it benefits my skin. I've only been using it for a couple of months but, I'll definitely keep using it as part of my everyday lotion. The packaging and price is reasonable. The bottle is handy at home it won't be a obvious thing to carry around while your out but, the price is worth the buy.
Foundations -Boots - No.7 Protect and Perfect Foundation
sarah0717 4/13/2011 11:05:00 AM
This was my second foundation I've tried since my skin is very oily and sensitive it's prone to getting break outs. It broke me out most of time and it was quite drying and heavy for my face. It was a okay product while it lasts, but won't buy it again. The price and packaging are not so good. The bottle is bulky and heavy so, it's not something you want to carry with you. The price is quite over the limit for a product that doesn't really do much.
I have the shade ''Tell No One'' which is a coral tone and it's absoutely beautiful. I'am very light skin so it's very bold when I put it on but I prefer to dab it on with tissues so it looks more natural for me. The only problem is the texture is quite bad. Cos' it's a very matte and dry substance you have to be careful that it doesn't make your lips look flaky and cracked. The packaging and price is so-so. I prefer the packaging to be less striking but I guess it stands out with the rest of the make up so it's easier to find :) and the price is well..it's Rimmel so the price is okay.
