Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup

I've been using this foundation for about 1 month - until yesterday. I got 150 Buff for combo/oily skin. Here is my experience in short: PROS: - Price - Didn't make me break out - Good colors if your are NC (150 Buff compares to NC20) - It stays on forever - Covers everything - Because it is so matte it won't accentuate pores CONS: - Very drying - It accentuates dryness (which you will have after using this for a few days) - Taking it off is more difficult and takes longer - Clogged pores (probably due to drying) - Too matte/unhealthy looking, although I usually like matte - Almost impossible to put on nicely with a foundation brush (very streaky) - You have to be extremely quick and good with blending as it dries in seconds - Packaging is really messy After all I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone unless you have very(!) oily skin and need a lot of coverage. Other than that I think there are better foundations available, even in the same price range.

Skincare - Face -Avene - Thermal Water
rated 5 of 5

It's a must have for me. I use it whenever I need to moisten my skin i.e. before applying certain skin products or to finish off my makeup. I mostly only use a finish powder and if I spray this on it looks like I am not wearing anything. Genious! I noticed that it also is very neutralizing so I recommend using it after any sort of acid treatment.

Scrubs -Dermalogica - Exfoliating body scrub
rated 5 of 5

This is the only Dermalogica product I have ever owned in full size and I will definitely reorder once it's empty. I have sampled many of their other things. I must say I didn't dislike any of them but they were never good enogh to justify the pricetag (in Europe). I got several sachets of this scrub with a non Dermalogica order at some ebay store and absolutely fell in love with it! I only use it once or twice a week because this is the one and only scrub that manages to keep my skin soft and baby smooth for the longest amount of time. The smell is lavender, not everyone's favourite, including me, but it doesn't linger so I am okay whith it. The grains are very effective but therefore big and maybe a bit harsher than one would expect. If your skin is on the thin side or very sensitive I would recommend trying a sample to make sure it doesn't scratch you. I have used AHA lotions before this but never with the same results since I can't get myself to put them on regularly not to mention on a daily base. All the other times I use Molton Brown body wash to shower. Most of them have beneficial ingredients for the skin, are non drying and they smell SO amazing! As I said I only use body lotion when I am in the mood so it's this combo that makes my skin pretty much perfect!

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
rated 3 of 5

I have a love-hate relationship with this concealer. I wish I could give it a 3.5 rating. I love the texture, staying power, how pigmented it is and the fact that it's Mac so I can get an exact mach for my skin-tone. My problem is that it really depends what type of moisturizer, foundation, powder etc. you use along with this concealer. I haven't figured out what it is but with some of my routines it works like a charm but on other days it looks just awful, is drying and/or flakes off. It's always a bit of a gamble for me whether to use this concealer or not - I usually end up using it when I'm out of my regular one. However what I like to do in summer is water in down and use it as a very lightweight foundation. I only take a tiny amount of product (about the size of one needle head!) and apply it wit a damp brush. It's practically invisible yet gives me coverage and has better staying power than foundation. I use MSFN to set because they are a great combo. So I guess this is not the item I would take on a deserted island with me but it's sure always handy to have around and I always repurchase when I run out.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Sudocrem
rated 4 of 5
saposa 4/15/2011 8:55:00 AM

Sudocrem is the best zinc paste I have seen so far. The lavender and other added ingredients support the zinc in healing, protecting and soothing the skin very well. I understand that some people are against this kind of creams or have had a bad experience. I like to think that zinc paste should be used with the same care as for instance cortison ointment. Use it locally for on conditions it is intended for and only over a limited period of time. This way you can enjoy the great benefits on your skin and avoid the lesser great side effects. If you are looking for a way to deliver zinc to your skin to help with acne and blemishes do not apply zinc paste all over your face (I have heard some people are doing this!) By doing this you are very likely to harm your skin! Use a face mask that contains zinc instead or take it orally.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 4 of 5
saposa 3/27/2011 9:45:00 AM

It's a nice palette and I have to give Urban Decay credit for being among the first ones to bring out a nude palette and starting this huge trend. However over time I found myself only using about 4 shadows frequently. And for the same price I could have gotten a quad from Mac with those colors or even better ones (I find Mac shadows are a bit better quality, especially those with shimmer). Keep in mind that Mac pans are 1.5g vs 1.3g in the Naked Palette. It's still a great product to have though and I don't regret buying it but as of today I would probably invest my money differently.

Styling Products -TiGi - S-Factor Heat Defender - Flat Iron Shine Spray
rated 4 of 5
saposa 3/27/2011 9:29:00 AM

A good heat protectant. It leaves my hair silky, soft and shiny. A lot shinier than some other heat protectants, I have to say. However on the second day my hair is way to greasy and this is a product I don't want to use sparingly; I want the best possible protection. Be careful not to drop this! Mine fell off the bathroom counter only once and the bottle was completely busted. The packaging material seems to be unusually coarse because plastic typically doesn't break this easily.

Conditioner -TiGi - S Factor Diamond Dreams
rated 4 of 5
saposa 3/27/2011 8:57:00 AM

I don't know if the promoted additives (diamonds, pearls, cashmere etc.) are responsible for the results I got. The emphasis on these ultra luxurious ingredients does seem an awful lot like a marketing strategy to lure people into buying it. But in the end it did some good to my hair. I've seen better conditioners but also worse. If you are in love with the smell of strawberries I say go for it.

Shampoo -TiGi - S Factor Diamond Dreams shampoo
rated 3 of 5
saposa 3/27/2011 8:26:00 AM

UPDATE: Unfortunately after using this for a few weeks I had to realize that this shampoo just isn't cleaning enough. My scalp became gross and very itchy. I was quite sad because everything else seemed so great about it...
