Sunscreen -Badger - SPF 30
rated 4 of 5
sanrosee 5/8/2008 7:19:00 PM

The consistency is too thick (paste-like), the scent is a little too strong (some type of herb along with maybe honey), it does not spread easily, and the white cast takes about five minutes to fade -- but my skin does not burn when wearing this sunblock. And my skin burns very easily, even when wearing almost any other brand of sunblock.

Skincare - Body -Badger - Healing balm
rated 5 of 5
sanrosee 5/8/2008 7:11:00 PM

Excellent product that can be used in an infinite number of ways. I generally use it on my hands. But it also works as an overall moisturizer, plus I can even use it on my face. The product has a semi-hard texture that quickly warms and absorbed upon touch. Cute tin packaging, the scent is slightly medicinal.

Masks -Juice Beauty - Green Apple Peel
rated 4 of 5
sanrosee 4/29/2008 3:14:00 PM

This peel successfully has improved the clarity of my skin. The first time I used the mask, my face immediately felt more softer. After a few weeks of using it once a week, my skin appeared more smooth with less blackheads. Two negative aspects: it does make my face red for a short while and I don't care for the packaging. The price is high ($39) but it took me months to finish the product.

Moisturizers -Arcona - Acne Lotion, Repair AM
rated 5 of 5
sanrosee 4/28/2008 1:23:00 PM

The most effective acne preventive product that I've ever used. It works both on the dry and oily areas of my face. Can be used alone, but I also combine it with another serum/moisturizer because it can be drying.

Skincare - Face -Arcona - The Basic Five- Acne
rated 5 of 5
sanrosee 4/28/2008 1:18:00 PM

It took me a month to use up the five products in this kit. By the end of the month my combination, acne-prone skin appeared luminous. The my cheeks were no longer dry, my t-zone wasn't oily, and my acne cleared up completely. At first it seemed a little burdensome to use some of the products in the morning and some at night, but I discovered that the products really do seem to work in unison. This brand is only sold at a few locations -- I buy it either at beauty.com or iowebshop.com (the online store for the spa, International Orange).

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Zeno
rated 5 of 5
sanrosee 4/28/2008 1:02:00 PM

Zeno works effectively for me. When I feel/see a new zit appearing, I use Zeno twice a day. The zit generally heals within one or two days. Without Zeno, zits tend to take five to seven days to heal. I've never had a problem with burning or scaring because of the product. The only downside of Zeno is the price and it does not seem to work on cystic acne.

Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails - Clear
rated 4 of 5
sanrosee 4/28/2008 12:51:00 PM

Not a flawless product but I've used it occasionally for years because of the excellent results. It prevents my nails from breaking or chipping. It also dries quickly and shiny. Only apply a thin coat or run the risk that it will peel off. Also apply in a room with ventilation because it does smell strong.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Skin Food
rated 5 of 5
sanrosee 4/20/2008 10:54:00 AM

It ranks among the best of moisturizers. It can be used both on the body and face. Despite having combination skin with occasional acne, this product doesn't break me out. I love the scent -- a combination of floral and herbal. It is easy to find it now that Target and some other chains carry Weleda.

Lip Treatments -Kiss My Face - Organic Lip Balm Sliced Peach
rated 4 of 5
sanrosee 4/20/2008 10:45:00 AM

I bought this lip balm because it really does smell like peaches (and there's no trace of a plastic-like scent). Also the price is reasonable compared to other organic lip balms. The texture is more smooth than waxy -- consequently, this balm works best when only light moisturizing is needed. Sufferers of seriously dry lips should probably pass on this product.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Original Moisturizing Creme
rated 4 of 5
sanrosee 4/20/2008 10:39:00 AM

I'm not fond of Eucerin because it has a very thick consistency that makes it difficult to rub into the skin. Also if too much is used, the skin feels and appears greasy. BUT when my husband suddenly developed eczema last winter, this product was a lifesaver. I definitely recommend it for conditions such as eczema and for dry skin.

Skincare - Body -Badger - Sore Muscle Rub
rated 3 of 5
sanrosee 4/6/2008 7:17:00 PM

First of all, I love this product. However I have to give it three lippies because this is suppose to be a sore muscle rub. And it does not seem help when I have an aching muscle. But it's an excellent moisturizer and I love the spicy ginger scent. I also like how it has a slightly more oily texture than the healing balm.

Treatments -Burt's Bees - Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
rated 5 of 5
sanrosee 4/6/2008 7:12:00 PM

This product is a life saver. During the winter I constantly had hang nails -- even though I used lotion throughout the day. Out of desperation I tried this product, and I noticed an immediate improvement. After using it for several days my cuticles were dramatically healthier. The product is a the perfect balance between oiliness and wax, and it has a fresh lemon scent. The only criticism I can think of is the packaging: I'm not fond of the metal container. It costs about $6.

Moisturizers -Dr. Hauschka - Normalizing Day Oil
rated 3 of 5
sanrosee 3/10/2008 2:39:00 PM

This is a good product but it isn't for me. Only a couple of drops are needed to moisturize my skin. It didn't cause any miraculous transformation as described by some other reviewers; however, the product didn't cause acne or irritations. I prefer to use something else that actively treats blackheads. The product costs about $39, but it lasted a long time because such a small amount is used.

Cleansers -Dr. Hauschka - Cleansing Cream
rated 5 of 5
sanrosee 3/10/2008 2:19:00 PM

I love this product but it took a while before I felt comfortable using it. First, the name is misleading! I thought it was suppose to be a cleanser. Instead it is a gentle exfoliator. I think it's most effective in the morning after washing my face. Second, the "press and roll" technique really works. Although the product is gentle enough that it isn't harmful to just scrub and rub it in. The packaging, a metal tube, is just bad. It's difficult to remove the last little bit. The price, about $24, is maybe a little high based on how quickly I go through a tube. However, it seems worth it based on the quality of the ingredients and I usually can find it for sale online.

Masks -Pangea Organics - Facial Mask - Japanese Matcha Tea with Acai & Goji Berry
rated 4 of 5
sanrosee 3/10/2008 2:03:00 PM

This mask looks and feels like putting swamp muck -- but it is effective. My face looks very clean and smooth immediately after removing the mask. And the clarity of my skin signficiantly improved after using the mask once a week for a month. Like other Pangea products, it is made from natural ingredients and packaged in eco-friendly material. I paid $31 for it.
