Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
sandyroy01 7/28/2010 6:04:00 PM
pleasently surprised with the quality of this drug store concealer. coverage is decent. the color matches my skin tone. and the whipped formula is good. i've already re-purchased this twice. can't beat the price.
i've been using dermadoctor's aint misbehavin for the past 2 years and noticed it hasn't been working as well so i decided to switch it up. i picked this up, hoping it would keep my occassional zits under control. well, it made my skin so dry. not sure why, but it's awful. i've been using it for over a week and i don't think this is a good match for my skin.
Powder -Make Up For Ever - Duo Mat Powder foundation
sandyroy01 12/16/2009 9:19:00 PM
this was a huge fail. it was so chalky and thick and awful. it didn't blend well at all. i wish i could have taken this bck to sephora but i threw out the box and receipt.
the jury is still out on this foundation but i'm leaning towards a thumbs down. i like that it is water based and very light. i typically stick to compact foundations vs. liquid but decided to try something new. this really settled into my pores. i don't have large pores but with this foundation it looks like i do.i applied the pressed powder over the foundation and it didn't look any better. it also left my skin feeling dewy, not in a good way. this was my first experience with bb face makeup and i really liked that the color was a perfect match (#4). however, the girl at nordy's told me that bb doesn't believe in a powder compact foundation so it looks like my search continues.
i really liked this compact. coverage was good and i didn't have any breakouts. i did find that it takes some work to blend it in. i apply this with a foundation brush and then blend blend blend with a kabuki brush. my one complaint is the color selection. maybe i didn't select the right color in the first place (even though a makeup artist at sephora matched me) but the color i got was too orange/pink on me. i had this problem with laura mercier too. i'm usually nc 25/30.
Moisturizers -Boscia - Vital Daily Moisture SPF 15
sandyroy01 12/16/2009 1:35:00 AM
i've had good luck with boscia products. my skin is dry and sensitive so i like natural products. this is a great day moisturizer. i really like that it has spf. i notice my face is a tad oily after i apply it. it takes some time to sink in so i reccommend waiting a few minutes before you apply your makeup. i even share this with my boyfriend who has extremely dry skin.
i really loved the way this made my skin feel. i've never really felt it necessary to use a toner, but i did notice a difference in my skin when i used this. my skin felt cleaner, smoother, and i noticed a slight difference in the size of my pores (or maybe it was just wishful thinking...) i took off a lippie because it contains alcohol.
Eye Makeup Remover -Kiehls - Supremely Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover
sandyroy01 11/9/2009 5:54:00 PM
i love this eye makeup remover. it is "supremely gentle" as it claims.it does not sting or irritate my eyes. i took off a lippie because it does sometimes leave that cloudy residue in your eyes. i have extremely sensitive eyes and get styes if i do not completely remove my eye makeup, this remover does a wonder job at taking everything off.
this is a great lipgloss to give your lips a little shimmer and shine. it's very natural looking- not too pink or orange (nude). if you apply too much it can look a little white.
i probably wouldn't buy this again, i'd probably go with bobbi brown's 'peony' shade. this color is very sheer and i often feel like i am applying so much blush just to get it to show up. it's a great shade of pink, but a little too sheer for me (nc 25/30)
i probably wouldn't buy this again. i'm still not ever sure what its supposed to do. i figured with the back2mac program, i'll at least get something out of the deal if i don't end up liking this. ts fun to apply but a pain to take off. i'll find black goop under my chin or along my hairline in the morning after i use this mask. this does make my skin feel soft and i notice a slight difference in my pores, but nothing groundbreaking.
love this color. its the perfect shade of charcoal grey. actually the only mary kay product i've been happy with. and it lasts all day!
Cleansers -Mary Kay - TimeWise 3-in-1 cleanser N/D
sandyroy01 9/19/2009 3:12:00 AM
i did not like this cleanser. i have semi-dry/normal skin. and thankfully (knock on wood) my skin is very clear. however with this cleanser, it made my skin terribly oily and i even started to break out. i havent had any major breakouts in years. this is going back to the mk consultant who sold it to me.
it doesn't do much in terms of volume but it definitely makes my lashes look really long. they actually look fake. if you use too much you can end up with crispy looking lashes but used sparingly, this is an amazing drugstore find. great dramatic black color as well. it mildly irritates my contacts, but nothing unbearable.
Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Anastasia Brow Gel

i use this over benefit's brow kit to keep my brows in place. it works well and doesn't look flakey. not much to it.
