Conditioner -L'Oreal - Advanced Haircare - Total Repair 5
samanthurrrrr 4/5/2013 10:35:00 PM
Wow, wow, wow! This conditioner is an amazing find in the drugstore. It is perfect for my wavy, coarse, frizzy hair. After using it for only 2-3 weeks, I can see and feel a significant difference in my hair. It has less breakage, frizz, and feels softer. Also, the ends of my hair seem significantly less crunchy. Product does not build up. My favorite thing about this product is I only need to use a little bit to get good results and de-tangled hair. I get the best results if I condition with it every day and shampoo every 3 days. The smell is pretty, like a light, perfume. This is my new favorite conditioner! I prefer it over high end brands. There is a lot in the bottle for a price less than $10.

Shampoo -Moroccanoil - Moisture Repair Shampoo
samanthurrrrr 10/29/2012 2:17:00 AM
**Before you read this review, please note that my hair is extremely dry and coarse; therefore, I have high expectations for a moisture repair shampoo** I used to love this product and swear by it, but it did stop working for me. The one and only reason why it worked so well on my 2C hair type initially was because I had a new Brazilian blow-out and a fresh trim. As most of you know, Brazilian Blow-outs pack keratin into your hair shaft and leave it feeling soft, healthy, and frizz-free. I would use moraccanoil shampoo 2-3 times a week, and loved the way it made my hair smell and feel. To be fair in this review, there are lots of good things about moroccanoil shampoo. It is packed with nutrients, the lather is amazing, and the 33.8 oz bottle lasts a year. That's right ladies! One whole year. However, long story short.. my Brazilian Blow-out wore off, and my hair was lacking the same shine and hydration it had before. What seemed like a miracle shampoo had turned into just a Brazilian Blow-out booster. Yes, it did help me maintain my blow-out longer, but most sulfate-free shampoos can do that. I found that sometimes it would leave me with a ton of knots, and I would have to use extra conditioner and detangler to remove them. It also started to seem less beneficial for my extremely dry, damaged, coarse, color treated hair. I really wanted to have a shampoo that made me feel like my hair was already conditioned. My point: Moroccanoil was not taking moisture out of my hair, but certainly was not adding any either. I did some research and switched to a 100% vegan shampoo, and I love it. I hope this helps some people with the same dry, damaged hair as me.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Defining/Angled Eye Brush
samanthurrrrr 10/29/2012 1:57:00 AM
My favorite ELF brush. Not all of their brushes are soft. Some brushes unfortunately have shedding. For example, I really can't stand their C brush. This one, however, is really nice. It is very soft. The angle is perfect for the outer corner. I also use it to put mineral powder underneath my waterline. It sets the eye liner very well. My only complaint: not enough bristles. But for the price, it gets an A - .

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - All Colors
samanthurrrrr 10/29/2012 1:50:00 AM
I love this eyeliner cream in black. In my opinion, it is almost the exact same thing as the MAC gel liner in Blacktrack. It is so creamy, easy to apply, stays on all day, dirt cheap, what is not to love? I believe it received negative reviews because of people who do not know how to apply it or keep it moist. Other then that, if you know how to do your gel liner, there really is nothing wrong with it. It's a great find and extremely comparable to department store brands. I have created many extreme liner looks with it, and I feel like it has made me more creative and daring in my make-up looks. I feel comfortable recreating edgy looks with it . It always looks very clean and bold. I love this and will repurchase it forever. The price makes it more than worth it .

Eyeliner -Stila - Kajal Eye Liner in Onyx

I like this eye liner, but not for 18$. You can basically achieve the same look and staying power with Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner for $7. There's really no reason to spend the big bucks.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
samanthurrrrr 10/29/2012 1:10:00 AM
I do like this product. It is a good primer and really keeps the shadows from creasing. However, I'm not 100% sold on the texture. I like my primer to be a bit more creamy. I would give it a 4 out 5 for the texture, but the ridiculous price has made me give this product a 3. Let's be real. There are many cheaper eye primers out there that work just as well if not better. I will not repurchase.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Honesty Eyeshadow
samanthurrrrr 10/29/2012 1:06:00 AM
A little quick something about me: I don't like when I can't find dupes of MAC eye shadows that I like. So naturally, I did not want to like this color because of the price ($15). However, I cannot find one brand that is approx. this shade that has the same pigmentation and long wear effects. Kudos, MAC. I can't find anything to replace this Honesty color...honestly lol. This color looks amazing in the crease especially over a white bone type of shade.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser (Normal to Oily Skin)
samanthurrrrr 10/29/2012 12:56:00 AM
I love this cleanser! My dermatologist (who is actually a critically acclaimed dermatologist in NJ) recommended this product to me for years. I have combination acne prone skin. This cleanser is great for reducing redness, oil and dryness. It goes with many skin care routines and provides a nice base for moisturizers. f you use it for months, you will also obtain a nice glow to your skin. My dermatologist told me she recommends this product for almost all skin types. It is extremely gentle. The versatility of this product alone has caused me to give it a high rating of 4 stars. I would give it the full 5, but I dislike the smell of it, and the price has slightly increased.

Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Bronzer
samanthurrrrr 10/29/2012 12:46:00 AM
I have a great bronzer that I love by ELF, but I get really tan in the summer time. I wanted a bronzer that made my face look a little more tan than it was without being orangeish. This bronzer was perfect for getting me really dark without using a lot. It's also great for a matte bronzer with no orange tint and no sparkles (as you know, bronzers are loaded with shimmer) So because of it's uniqueness of no shimmer and a dark shade, I am giving it 3 out of 5 stars. However, it's not the perfect product. I absolutely dislike the packaging. The lid is very flimsy and breaks easily for being priced around $11. I've broke it at least twice, and I am careful about these sort of things. Also, if this bronzer is stored in an area without moisture... it will dry out within the course of a season. I loved it all throughout the humid summer, but once September 21st came around, it got very hard and I had to press my brush against it to really get the color out. I won't complain that much though because it helped me all summer. Hope this helps.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stylist Mascara ] [DISCONTINUED]
samanthurrrrr 10/29/2012 12:32:00 AM
I am writing this review for women looking to find an alternative or dupe of this discontinued product. This used to be my favorite and I have no idea why they got rid of it, as it was many of my girlfriend's favorite mascara in college as well. Anyway, I started getting it off of ebay until the price skyrocketed. Now I use L'oreal Telescopic Mascara. You will get very similar results if you turn the brush upside down so that the top is curved up towards your lashes like a hill. Hope this helps those who miss this mascara.

Tinted Moisturizer -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Enhancer SPF 20
samanthurrrrr 10/29/2012 12:24:00 AM
Since it's a tinted moisturizer, I figured I could apply it right after normal moisturizer + primer right? Wrong! It looks awful on top of any moisturizer from expensive ones like the Sephora Brand one for combination skin to cheap ones like Cetaphil. So, since I was down $9, I didn't want to give up on this product. I tried using it after I washed my face without primer or moisturizer. It looked okay. Not great just okay. I didn't really feel like it added a lot of moisture or color or even "glow"; it added maybe a tad of each. It definitely has that "feel like you're not wearing any makeup" I am giving it 2 out of 5 stars because even though I hated it, I am almost 100% sure that women with tan to dark skin that is dry will like this product, as it has properties that tend to improve the look of dry skin. But, it really did not do that much for me. My skin is rarely dry.

Lipstick -E.L.F. - Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink
samanthurrrrr 10/29/2012 12:08:00 AM
LOVE THIS LIPSTICK! Pigment = GREAT. a very cute casual pink...i always throw it on when I don't know what color to wear and it always looks cute. I wear it with my quad palette that has colors for brown eyes. Lasting = long lasting and does not smear easily at all. Clear gloss of any brand goes right on top nicely. 4 out of 5 stars because you have to exfoliate and hydrate your lips prior to wearing it, as it does not have any added moisture for your lips.

Conditioner -Aveda - Damage Remedy Restructuring Conditioner
samanthurrrrr 10/28/2012 11:54:00 PM
This product is such a rip off. There is nothing special about it, and it does not do what it claims. I have 2C type, wavy, thick, coarse, damaged, colored, dry hair. I used this product as well as the shampoo. Not only did it not fix the damage, I think it made it worse. The product build up of this stuff is off the charts, and I NEVER say things like that because my hair is so dry that it usually drinks up most damage re constructors. Well, not in this case. It really bothered me how much I paid for this stuff and how awful it was. A cheap and MUCH more effective alternative is Yes To Blueberries Health Hair Repair Conditioner. It's new. It's cheap. I love it. Aveda's overrated and overpriced.
