Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto

What a disappointment! This does nothing for my lashes compared to any other mascara. It barely lengthens and adds almost no thickness. It's about as effective as Maybelline Full and Soft (which I like, but I expect more from a product called Stiletto!). And there was no shine! None at all. I can't believe they discontinued my favorite mascara, Lash Stylist and then came out with this. Bring back Lash Stylist!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Mascara - Blackest Black

Wow, I really love this! I was fortunate enough to get it free from a friend at L'Oreal since she knows how much I love new products. I'm glad she did - I don't know if I would have bought a mascara called Bare Natural, lol. This stuff is great cause it really builds lashes, but manages to keep them soft at the same time. My routine has been to start with Maybelline Full and Soft for a conditioning base, then layer DiorShow mascara on top. This would have been great, but I found that the DiorShow would wear off throughout the day. With the Bare Natural, it conditions almost as good as Full and Soft, but builds like DiorShow (no clumps - lots of length and natural thickness) but it wears ALL day! I'm only on my second day of wearing this, but I think this has HG status already. I will update this review if anything changes.

I loooove this color! Definitely my HG lipstick! It brightens my complexion whenever I feel blah, it's a total quick fix. I want to say it's a coral, but really I think it's a neutral shade. The best way to describe it is that it matches the inside of my lip. I prefer to wear this as a stain - I do one creamy application and then blot, then add gloss if I want. I can't think of any other shade out there like this one. I'm having trouble finding it now, I hope it's not discontinued! I may have to try the MAC shade other reviewers mentioned when I run out... =(

Blush -Milani - Powder Blush - Pink Craze [DISCONTINUED]

I hope they read this and bring it back! I never wear blush, but I got this on a whim and it's the most perfect, subtle matte pink color - I absolutely love it and feel naked without it. I haven't been able to find another blush to replace it - if any knows of a blush that can replace this please post it in your review!

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub

This stuff is amazing - I'm addicted to salicylic acid cleansers and have tried most on the (drugstore) market. They're all pretty much the same to me, but this one totally stands out. I don't know why, but the active ingredient in this (SA) seems more powerful than other brands. It doesn't burn or irritate (unless you have broken skin - which will clear up quickly with this stuff), but it's effect on my blackheads is much more noticeable than any other brand. My skin is overall clearer and I also have less redness (probably due to fewer acne scars). I like to leave this on longer in the shower and let it do it's business. I love the creamy consistency, but calling it a scrub is definitely misleading - there's nothing 'scrubbing' about it. I usually prefer rough exfoliators to keep my skin clear, but this does the trick with salicylic acid alone and I must say I prefer it (although I do use a rough washcloth to work it in like all cleansers I use). My only complaint is that I run through this stuff quickly - a bigger bottle would be better, but despite this, I'm not switching cleansers anytime soon.

Toners -Neutrogena - Blackhead Eliminating Astringent

I love this stuff! My favorite astringent by far and I have tried tons. I'm horrible about remembering to review products, but I'm afraid if I don't review this then it will be discontinued. This does an amazing job of getting rid of my blackheads AND smoothing away flakes without over drying my skin like some astringents do. Don't get me wrong - it is drying, but for my oily skin it is perfect. It's a combination of glycolic acid and salicylic acid - both work wonders on my skin. My favorite use for this product is for those late nights when I come home too tired to take off my makeup, instead of using makeup wipes, I soak a cotton pad with this stuff and go over my face - it doesn't remove everything, but I wake up in the morning with smooth skin and no blackheads! Which is a total miracle with my skin - highly recommended!!

Wow - this is my favorite exfoliator! I have acne/blackhead prone skin that's not very sensitive and needs constant exfoliation. I normally use a scrubbing cleanser with a wash cloth, but this stuff alone just rubbed on with my fingers works great! My skin is so incredibly smooth and soft after - this is definitely my HG along with the aspirin mask and baking soda (for my oily skin). I really don't use the moisturizer that comes with this kit - just the scrub, fyi. Not that I don't like it, but because I have other moisturizers/creams I prefer.

This has been my HG conditioner for years now. I first discovered it on recommendation from a stylist in L.A. and later from my stylist here in NY. It's the only conditioner that I can use long term and get the same fabulous results everytime. It does a great job smoothing and detangling my fine hair without weighing it down - just a great overall conditioner! Highly recommended!
