Polishes -Essie - Going Incognito 734 - Winter 2010

I was debating between this shade and the new shade, Stylenomics. I'm glad I got this shade because Stylenomics pulls very black, and I wanted a deep forest green that truly was green, not green-black. Easy to apply, shiny, and the perfect color for autumn/winter. I have no problems with chipping or tip wear, even though I am typing on the computer constantly. I'm wearing it now and can't stop staring!

I liked the soft texture, the ease of application, and the color payoff, but it would smear onto my brow bone after an hour or so. It didn't stay put on my waterline either. For something claiming to last 24/7, it sadly disappointed.
I, too, wanted this to be the cleanser to ease my recent breakouts due to the hot and humid summer we're having. Oh, how I wanted to write a positive review like all the ones I read about it, but alack. It didn't work for me. It didn't make my current breakouts go away or heal faster. In fact, I think it may have caused these two massive blemishes that are still healing (it's been two weeks now since they sprung). I enjoyed the scent and cooling sensation caused by the menthol in it until I learned that menthol is actually an irritant! The flip cap on mine was also flimsy, so I always had to really bang it hard against something to close it. I think maybe I just don't respond as well to a lower strength BP because I'm used to using 10% BP as a spot treatment. Oh, well. Back to the drawing board, I suppose.
I smelled this fragrance last summer and had to have it! It reminded me of watermelon - light and fruity. It came in a gift box with a body lotion. Nowadays, I find whenever I use the perfume it smells great for a few seconds but quickly gets this strange synthetic smell. It's really too bad because I really loved the scent for the summer. The lotion is still great though.

While I think the concept of this product was good, the result was not. I wanted to look refreshed and awake, but the product was far too frosty and made me look juvenile. I also found it hard to blend. I used my EcoTools e/s brush, so I know it wasn't a brush issue that was causing the product to become uneven in application. Back to the store it went.
I am in LOVE with this color. It's the perfect mixture of blue and green with a hint of gold. It reminds me of mermaid tails and ocean water. It gives an eye-catching shimmery metallic effect that is really lovely. Also, it makes my brown eyes really stand out. And that's quite a feat, in my opinion. Great staying power, as usual with Urban Decay. Would buy again if I ever ran out, which is unlikely. A little goes a long way with UD.

This is my go-to-work shade. It's the perfect natural skin colored eye shadow for my skin tone. I have a problem with shadows creasing on me since I have such oily lids, and I also have slight discoloration on my lids. With some UDPP and patting (not sweeping) this shadow on with my EcoTools eye shadow brush, I get full coverage on my slightly dark lids, making me look bright eyed and awake! It lasts all day too, which is wonderful. No frills, but still an essential part of my morning makeup routine.

I bought this in Rapid Red, and the color is awesome. Lovely bright red with no tones of pink or orange. I actually think the flat brush is pretty innovative and definitely helps with the application. It does deposit a little too much, but that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that this stuff will not stay put! I got to admire my mani for maybe a day before this stuff started chipping. The first time I used it the chipping started the same day!!! Then the next time I used Essie's Good To Go top coat, which is a miracle product IMO, but it still chipped within a day or two. If this wasn't an issue, I would have no complaints. So sad, I want to love it, but I can't. Won't repurchase.
I wanted a basic nude lipstick, but this color was just not for me. Like others, it looked like I just applied concealer to my lips! I tried to apply a little Aquaphor, but the color just smeared and came off on my finger. So sad, as I adore the other colors in the matte line, but I prefer not to look like I've had all the blood drained out of me. Back to the store it goes.
This tiny flat iron does the job it is meant to do: straighten on the go and quick touch ups. I actually used it for the first time today, and used it to straighten my whole head to put it to the test. It did an amazing job! The plates got quite hot, and it made my hair sleek and shiny. I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use or for people with very thick, coarse, and/or curly hair because it is really small. My only concern was that near the plates on the outside it got hot enough to possibly burn absent-minded fingers. Got it on sale at Target for around $16! Pretty sweet!
Top/Base Coats -Essie - Good to Go! The Fastest Drying Top Coat

Finally, I have found my HG top coat! I have never had a top coat that didn't chip on me until now. A few days later and after lots and lots of typing, my manicure still looks brand new! Amazing! I just applied this top coat while my color was still mostly wet, and voila! It dried incredibly quick, and left my nails shiny and without any air bubbles, which is a problem that often plagues my manicures. Definitely will repurchase!
When I first bought this product, I somehow neglected it and it ended up in the back of my makeup drawer. When I rediscovered it, I was amazed how lovely the color is! Such a pretty, sheer green color with a hint of shimmer. I was sad to find that it was discontinued, but rejoiced when I found it at Big Lots. I immediately bought 3, figuring it would last me a long time. I gave one of my three from Big Lots to my mom to try, but she gave it back, saying it was all dried up because nothing came out when she twisted the applicator. I messed with it a bit, then finally broke the top half off. The eye shadow wasn't dried out at all, so I asked her for an empty makeup pot. I used a q-tip to get the makeup out when I was suddenly struck by one of the most foul odors I've ever encountered in my whole life. I sniffed at the e/s, then backed away in disgust! It had gone so bad that that one sniff actually made me sick for the rest of the day! I felt nauseated and like I couldn't get the smell out of my nose and lungs. Totally gross! Please be careful if you buy some of this and it seems old. Don't want you guys to experience what I did! Also, IMO, Urban Decay's Green Goddess e/s is a very good substitute in color and effect for Jade :o)
I'm really falling in love with this eye liner. I love how it's really tiny so it's great for precision lining. Much better than Tarte's Emphaseyes, IMO. It's very smooth and doesn't tug or pull. It blends easily and lasts a very long time. It definitely helps give me those Bambi eyes! I got them BOGOF from CVS, too!
I just found my HG red lipstick! I got Really Red and In The Red from the Matte Lipstick line BOGOF from CVS as I was looking for a good non-shiny red for a wedding I'm attending. Really Red gives me that old Hollywood look. The color is a classic red with a hint of blue undertone and no orange, which is exactly what I was looking for. I don't find it drying at all. It's pretty comfortable on my lips. Absolutely LOVE it and would definitely repurchase! *Update: I had this on for about 6 hours and after eating, drinking, and blotting with a napkin the color still looked as if I just applied it. It was comfortable the whole time and didn't dry my lips out at all.

I was looking for a pretty pink eye shadow and thought I'd give this one a try. I really like the color in the package, but it doesn't show up on me. It takes a long time to build it up to get a decent color. Not worth it.
